Virginia Nelson believed them when they said, “Write what you know.” Small town girl writing small town romance, her characters are as full of flaws, misunderstandings, and flat out mistakes as Virginia herself. When she’s not writing or plotting to take over the world, she likes to hang out with the greatest kids in history, play in the mud, drive far too fast, and scream at inanimate objects. Virginia likes knights in rusted and dinged up armor, heroes that snarl instead of croon, and heroines who can’t remember to say the right thing even with an author writing their dialogue. Her books are full of snark, sex, and random acts of ineptitude—not always in that order.

"Sometimes, you have to break all the rules."

Good writing. Rules were set out per chapter. For someone OC-like, this is stimulating to read.

And the story?

Author has a knack for rom-com and chick flick type. This could potentially be a movie.

P's were twin heirs of Boyd Cosmetics and image consultant. Foster hired Natalie to salvage his brother's image (and also his at some point). But things took a different turn. Natalie gets caught on the tittle-tattle while falling in love with the firstborn prince. But still, the 'show' must go on.

I liked the part when Foster publicly announce his love for Natalie. It's Notting Hill-like.

As an image consultant having no clients means disaster and unless Natalie Stolen can find and help a client that will aid her in bringing in others, she'll no longer be able to do what she does best. So, when Foster Boyd comes to her with an offer she can't afford to refuse, she finds herself helping Foster to save his family legacy and be a suitable distraction for his brother. Yet, the more time she spends with Foster, the harder it is to resist their powerful chemistry. Will Foster and Natalie achieve their happy ever after, or will their past demons keep them apart?

Although I haven't read the first two books of this series, I found this book could easily be read as a stand-alone and I've got to say that it was such a riveting and enjoyable read that I loved from start to finish because of the rules that start off each chapter; the main characters that have such interesting back stories; and compelling dialogue that had me loving the obstacles these two face to be together including the scandal that Natalie finds herself at the centre of. Will Foster be able to make things better for Natalie when she needs him to?

As for the main characters, they were relatable, likeable and I loved these two together, as the heroine was determined to get her way when it came to how she was going to do the job Foster wants. Will she be able to distract Foster's brother, so the hero can find a way to save the family company? Moreover, the heroine is resilient; very good at her job, despite the mess she's made of it and led her to losing all her clients; persistent when it comes to going after what she wants, especially when it comes to her relationship with Foster; and I liked how determined she was to help clean up the Boyd brothers reputations and help get things back on track after the blunder they had with their latest product campaign.

While the hero, he's confident, smart, determined and it's palpable he's used to getting what he wants, especially in the moment he comes face-to-face with the heroine for the first time. Certainly, he does everything he can to wear her down until she agrees to his plan, even if it isn't in her best interest. I also enjoyed reading the rules the hero had in place to keep himself safe from ever getting hurt. Do his rules really work? Will the heroine be an exception to his rules? Will the hero get what he wants when it comes to the company?

Overall, Ms. Nelson has delivered a wonderful read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was powerful; the romance steamy; and the ending had me loving how the hero's brother isn't afraid to offer his advice to both the hero and heroine. Will either of them listen? Who will make things right between them? Furthermore, I liked how things worked out for this couple, especially when it came to which one of them made things right between them. Yet, it was the epilogue that wrapped things up nicely, as readers discover how good things are going for the heroine when it comes to her career and how good things are going between Foster and Natalie. I would recommend The Firstborn Prince by Virginia Nelson, if you enjoy the enemy to lovers trope or books by authors Naima Simone, Donna Michaels, Sharla Lovelace and Diana Gardin.

Foster mochte ich vom Charakter her eigentlich.

foster boyd (the firstborn prince) and his twin brother (the rogue prince) inherited a cosmetics empire and millions of dollars. they also inherited a life in the spotlight. now foster wants to manipulate the situation to ensure he has full control over the family business and he decides that help from image consultant natalie stolen is exactly what he needs.

except the moment he meets her it's like he forgets his plan. and i'd explain the plan but to be honest, i don't think anyone in the book ever fully got it either, because it's not very clear and never really followed through on. but that's not actually a knock on the story. the plan was stupid from the get-go and foster's brother is clearly aware of what is going on anyway, which makes the whole thing even dumber. i'm sorry i need to stop talking about this plan.

the plan isn't important. because from the moment foster meets natalie it's clear that all he wants is her. and even though she knows that she shouldn't want him. she does. and he hashang-upss and commitment issues aplenty and natalie is entirely aware of them, but then they also deal with it. and it's sweet.

and oh, if you pick this book up, and you read the homemade active charcoal mask scene without laughing so hard you are crying then there is something wrong with you. that whole scene makes the book. and even more when foster references it in an apology, it's how natalie knows he means it. and as a reader you know it too.

Omg I just loved this book. Foster might have hired Natalie to distract his twin brother so he can take over the family cosmetic business but what Foster did not count on was his instant attraction to Natalie. Natalie may have felt the spark of attraction towards Foster but the last thing Natalie is looking for is to hook up with her employer and ruin what little reputation she has left. Career wise she knows this is the perfect opportunity for her to get established again and bring in more clients especially if she gets to straighten out both Boyd twins but as Natalie spends more time with Foster she realizes that he has another side of him that he keeps out of the media and only shows those closest to him. As Foster and Natalie let their attraction take hold and let loose of their feelings they have towards each other, Foster realizes that he might not go back for seconds or want to get attached to someone since he doesn’t want to get distracted from his work but with Natalie that is different. Natalie makes him feel whole and for the first time feel truly happy. The Firstborn Prince is an awesome, entertaining must read!

*** I was given this ARC by NetGalley as an exchange for an honest review.

A spin doctor that has lost it all. He was the one who would raise her up all the while having his needs met. A win-win situation. Would could possibly go wrong? Natalie’s world fell out from underneath her and Foster was ready to protect his families empire. Being a constant target of the paparazzi wasn’t easy and it was time to change. Would Natalie be able to help him change for the better and give his life a deeper meaning?great story on how you can rise back to the top despite losing everything.

Don't read too many of this kind of contemporary romance but I do like this author's writing so I gave this one a shot. This centers around Foster and Natalie who twist their tale around you getting into what is going on with them. Foster thinks he has a plan but you know what they say about plans especially when people are involved. Desperate times calls for desperate measures and that means Natalie can not resist because it means her too. The fun part of this read is when things go their own way with you seeing it all.

Natalie is an image consultant who loses her clients after a scandals with American’s Sweetheart.
Foster is known in the media as the Firstborn Prince, he hires Natalie to distract his brother but ends up falling for her instead.
This was a book that drew me into it from the start, I enjoyed reading about all the characters not just the Natalie and Foster. It was a fun book to read and I look forward to reading more from this author.

The Firstborn Prince is a quick, sexy, fun read and one I think everyone will enjoy. Very well written with some truly intriguing characters.

Foster Boyd needs to find something to distract his wayward brother before the bad publicity runs their business into the ground. Image consultant Natalie Stolen seems like the perfect person for the job. Too bad it seems that Foster is the only one being distracted by her.

I highly recommend this one.

Billionaire Foster Boyd is a control freak. He and his twin have sworn not to let love destroy them as it did their parents and almost the company. Rules are made to be broken. In this fun and sexy story we see the mighty one and done Foster Boyd fall. I liked image consultant Natalie Stolen she is strong, smart and resilient and just what Foster needs. Watching these two heal each other made my day and left me with a smile.

When a billionaire asks for your help in distracting his brother, it may not go as planned. Sparks fly when Foster has an instant connection with Natalie. The PR genius needs the business after a previous client hid a huge secret. It was a bit confusing at first because of the whole fake girlfriend thing but it became obvious there were true feelings amidst the press rantings. I enjoy Nelson's style however I enjoyed the Irish Prince more. My copy was received through Netgalley.

This is a fun and sexy read that I just loved! It opens with Natalie, an image consultant with an image problem of her own. Then Foster walks into her office and makes her an offer she can't refuse - essentially to act as bait to distract his brother.

Each chapter opens with one of the image "rules" she's set out for each of the brothers which focuses on some of their past antics. For Natalie, the most important rules are don't get involved with a client or become part of the image problem. As expected, all three of them violate their rules, but in a way filled with fun and humor.

This novel made me smile, laugh, and care about the characters. I enjoyed this book so much that I was sorry when it ended. If you haven't read one of the author's Prince books, you are really missing out. Each is a stand alone novel, however, each is like a chip - you can't read just one. The author is on my must read authors' list.

This story started out strong for me. The tension between Natalie and Foster was fantastic and I couldn’t wait to see how it played out. Then, I feel like the story took a strange and unnecessary turn. I think the control aspect of the story felt out of place and more like a way to make the book “sexy” as opposed to being integral for the story. It actually made the story a bit weird for me.

I liked each of the characters but overall I feel like too much of the actual interactions between them were missing. It just felt like the story went from one purpose to a whole different purpose and therefore the flow was broken for me. Example: I really like Connor in the scenes toward the end but I was confused how about how is relationship with Natalie was so important. I guess it’s implied that they b came close but since I never saw that, it was hard to feel.

I appreciate that these books are sexy, sweet reads to be enjoyed easily and quickly but I can’t help but wonder if they weren’t a little longer if they could feel more complete and developed.

This series got progressively better. A different billionaire "prince" who comes up with a harebrained idea on how to get the family company by distracting his twin brother. Foster Boyd has a playboy reputation, and his brother is a few levels above him. Hounded by the media on a daily basis, an image revamp is needed. Despite Natalie Stolen's career as an image consultant is going down the drain, she was the best in the business. Foster sees her as a way to control the situation and get what he wants. Their mutual attraction and off the charts hotness between the sheets complicate things a tad bit.

All in all, this was an enjoyable read and I'm hoping the Rogue Prince gets his own story...

Yet another great addition to the Prince series.
First of all I love name Foster Boyd. It rolls off the tongue nicely. I also like the dog's name, Buffy. I had a dog when I was younger named Buffy. I will admit that Foster and his dog Buffy might have had a stronger relationship than I did with our family dog. It is super endearing. Even when he's pretending to be unemotional and avoids attachment, you know that's BS because of the way he loves his dog and is kind to her. Foster Boyd is one of my favorite hero types. He seems to be cool and businesslike. Someone that takes care of everyone while seeming to need nothing in return, but when you take the time to dig deeper, there's a sweet and loving man who needs a soft touch and some love. And in return he knocks your socks off.
Natalie Stolen is a powerful, kickbutt lady who knows her job well but get screwed over by forces outside of her control (I can so identify with that), but even though she is in control and doesn't easily give into love and all the other squishy stuff, she sometimes can make a mess of things, like when she tries the home-made charcoal mask. Thankfully, her bestie, Harper, is always there to offer her advice or at least a shoulder to cry on.
When Natalie begins working for Foster, to help with his brother's image, they end up hitting it off. They try to keep things light and easy by simply having sex to scratch that annoying itch that's distracting them, but sometimes fate has other ideas.
When Natalie had an issue with a bedroom related problem, I thought that might be the misunderstanding/ the conflict and I was pleasantly surprised to see them work through that together as a couple which really cemented their relationship and moved it forward. They eventually had a hitch as all good romances do, but it wasn't from miscommunication in the bedroom. Go team.
This is a great story about two very un-perfect people, who fit together perfectly.

Zwei Hitzköpfe treffen aufeinander und keiner will nachgeben.

Foster is trying to save his family's business, from his twin brother, Connor. Though both Foster and Connor are well-known for certain behaviors, Connor's gambling is the only one that can impact the business negatively. When he realizes he needs to give Connor a distraction, something to focus on instead of the client, it doesn't take Foster long to realize it's more a someone that's needed.

Natalie was a highly sought after image consultant for the stars until one situation completely out of her control changed all of that, leaving her with no clients and a tattered professional reputation. She is more than aware of who the Boyd brothers are and their less than complimentary actions. But, she also knows she needs something to regain her standing in her business, and what Foster proposes could definitely accomplish that.

However, neither expected the chemistry between them to exist, let alone continue to grow with each encounter. Natalie is supposed to be a distraction for Connor, not Foster, but that's exactly what's happening as he forgets why he brought Natalie into their lives in the first place.

Can Foster and Natalie stick to the plan? Or will their need for each other prove to strong to resist? What happens if Foster can't deter his brother from their family's company and Natalie's business isn't able to recover? Will they sacrifice their original goals in order to gain something neither thought they'd find? Is a HEA possible?

One-click now and follow along as two people are brought together professionally to save their own companies yet discover something worth so much more.

Ah so many rules for these twin brothers to follow, and one they have self imposed. However for Natalie, the biggest issue was her attraction to Foster, the older of the two.

Not that shining up the reps of these bad boy billionaire's was going to be easy. The paparazzi follow them around like flies to honey because they know they'll get some sort of dirt before the evening was done.

The actual goal was supposed to be distract Foster's twin but unfortunately it seems he is the one being distracted. It becomes more and more apparent that this is the one woman Foster couldn't adhere to his self imposed one and done rule.

Even as these guys start doing the right thing and get publicity for the good, Natalie gets thrown into the mudslinging. Not the way she anticipated revitalizing her defunct career.

The rules set by Natalie for the twins and their reactions are hysterical.
Sexy, funny and in my opinion an accurate depiction of the paparazzi.

Foster Boyd wants to take control of the family business. While no stranger to scandal himself, he is anxious that his twin brother’s recent troubles not impact their family’s legacy. Seeking to distract his brother he sets out to hire a woman to help him in his quest.
Natalie Stolen is a disgraced image consultant. Desperate for clients she agrees to Foster’s ridiculous scheme. Working closely together they can’t resist the chemistry that burns between them.

This is my favorite in the series. I loved the Foster wasnt playing games with Natalie. He tells her right out the gate it can't be serious and not to fall for him. Can he help it if he goes against his own rules? It wasnt a back and forth romance. They both made a mistake and the fling ended. He figures out he's in love with her and makes a grand gesture (this one made sense to me as the last book was iffy). The attraction and chemistry between the two is evident and palpable. I didnt love how Margo played a reoccurring theme in the book but she did serve a purpose at the end. Overall I loved this book and the characters. Im looking forward to reading more from this author.

I am a sucker for the Entangled books and this one was a super read. If you enjoy a fake relationship story then this may be for you. Foster is trying to save the family business from Connor and his gambling so he hires Natalie to help their image and distract his brother but what neither Foster or Natalie was expecting was the attraction between them. A great read I enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading more from this series.

A well written steamy romance that I absolutely loved reading from start to finish. The characters I enjoyed reading about and found they had great chemistry. I cant wait to read more form this author.

I loved Foster immediately and was hoping Natalie would want him just as much. This was such a great story and great couple! I haven't read the other books by this author yet, but they're definitely on my TBR list now!

It was pretty good until she saw him talking to Margo causing unnecessary break-up and angst

I didn't like the main characters Foster & Natalie. They both are immature for my liking. Connor & Margo are way better than them. It was also a slow read for me.
