Guide dog trainer Eva Kendall walks into work and encounters a dognapping in progress. A man is taking puppy Cocoa, who Eva is currently training to eventually be her guide dog since she is losing her eyesight. Finn Gallagher is the K-9 officer who is called in to investigate the case, along with his search-and-rescue K-9 partner, Abernathy. Later, Eva is attacked and threatened to “return the stolen package” if she ever hopes to see Cocoa again. Eva and Finn search together for the mysterious package that has been supposedly stolen by Eva’s sister, who died recently in a car accident. Or was it an accident?

This was another entertaining installment of the True Blue K-9 Unit continuing series, although this one could possibly work as a stand-alone. There was a sweet romance between Eva and Finn as they grew closer together while working together to find Cocoa and the package. The suspense was good and kept up throughout the story. I absolutely loved the dogs. Finn’s wonderful brave partner, Abernathy. And I was worried about dognapped puppy, Cocoa. A very enjoyable read.

This is a Christian Romantic Suspense, and this is the third book in the True Blue K-9 Unit series. I have read the first two books in this series before picking up this book. I read this book by listening to the audiobook for this book, and I really enjoyed the audiobook. This book is filled with suspense, action, and mystery. There is a little bit of romance put into this story. I really enjoyed this book, and I got pulled into this story and love the characters. I loved the dogs. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

Isn't that a great cover? See the little chocolate lab sheltered below the fearless K-9?! That just melts my socks off! Love, love, love this continuity series! This is the third book but easily reads well as a standalone. Love that it's these special dogs and their individual talents that link the books in this series. Of course, the handlers are pretty cool too. :-) Like debonaire Finn Gallagher who has a bit of a reputation as a ladies' man. Eva isn't interested though (ha!) she has enough going on in her life including a secret she's very reluctant to share with Finn. Cue the tension and angst and the trauma of dognapping (gasp!) Mystery and suspense collide with the sweet stirrings of new love and that results in another stellar addition to the True Blue K-9 Unit series!

This a great story for the next book in the series. Its a story about trust. Eva Kendall has a secret she is scared to share for it has hurt her before. Then there Finn Gallagher who has been hurt as well in the past. What I love about this series is that each one has a separate problem to solve that maybe tied to the main case. I love the way things are not happening fast in the romance department. Yes they fall in love and get engaged but no fast marriage. That's what I like. I like the way they have surprises in the story sometimes its things about family and sometimes its not. Its full of suspense and action. It makes you curious enough to turn the pages. I'm really curious about the missing K-9. For each dog is very loyal. I need answers sooo badly on what's happening with him. I can't wait for the next book that's for sure.

With the re-release of the True Blue K-9 Unit series, this third book, Blind Trust, follows Eva Kendall, a guide dog trainer who suddenly finds herself at the center of a dognapping. A puppy named Cocoa - currently in training to become Eva’s future guide dog - is stolen. Eva, who has a congenital condition and is gradually losing her eyesight, is devastated by the loss. K-9 officer Finn Gallagher and his partner, K-9 Abernathy, step in to help track down the missing dog.

As the story unfolds, it quickly becomes clear that this is far more than a simple case of dognapping. Eva is then injured and threatened, and forced to retrieve a mysterious package she knows nothing about in exchange for Cocoa’s safe return. Working together, Eva and Finn try to uncover what the package is and why it is so important. The case becomes even more complicated when it appears to be connected to Eva’s sister, who recently died in a car accident, adding another layer of intrigue and emotional weight.

This is a fast-paced and engaging romantic suspense novel with heart. The Christian themes, warm character development, loyal K-9 partners, and gentle romance are seamlessly woven together, making this a compelling installment in the series. I look forward to reading more books in the True Blue K-9 Unit series.

Many thanks to Love Inspired Suspense and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Blind Trust
True Blue K-9 Unit #3
Laura Scott

Eva Kendall happens upon a dognapper taking the prize puppy from the guide-dog training center in which she works. But trying to save Cocoa only results in her being injured.

K-9 Officer Finn Gallagher is called to the scene, but the scent trail grows cold with no clue as to who stole the chocolate lab puppy. Hoping that Eva can help them identify the perpetrator, he is disappointed with her scant visual description. But evidently, the dognappers feel that Eva knows more than she does because soon both she and her nephew are targeted.

Finn, along with his canine partner Abernathy are quickly in a race against time when the dognappers' demands are made clear, and they escalate their attacks on Eva. Attacks that are starting to take a deadly turn.

Blind Trust is the third book in the True Blue K-9 Unit series and part of the Love Inspired Suspense collection. This book could be read as a stand-alone, but it is part of a larger story, which is the connecting thread of the series. The K-9 unit is dealing with the senseless murder of their chief and the reason why it happened. And if you are wondering, no answers were forthcoming in this book, so stay tuned for future editions. This book is clean-reading romantic suspense that won't keep up awake into the wee hours of the night unless you just want to keep reading. So curl into your favorite reading corner and escape for a few hours between the covers of this book, after all, can you resist this cover.

Blind Trust by Laura Scott is one in a series by different authors in the True Blue K9 Unit. I love the different K9 series that Love Inspired publishes.

This story introduces us to dog trainer, Eva Kendall and K9 officer Finn Gallagher and his partner, Abernathy. This is a heartwarming story of trust and faith, filled with some very suspenseful twists and turns. An excellent story, anxious moments regarding dog napping, kidnapping and at least one skeleton in the closet.

It's often challenging for authors to include animal characters who are very active in the plot without having the animals out shine the humans, but the Love Inspired authors accomplish this every time.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves clean, faith based suspense filled with action, humor, love, spiritual growth and always a happy ending.

Suspense filled

I enjoyed this book because it followed the first 3 very well while able to stand alone. I enjoyed the strength of character as well as the suspense filled storyline. Held my attention to the end. Finn is a hoot!

Eva Kendall is an accomplished dog trainer in Queens, NY. She is employed in a training facility where she works with Coco, a dog intended to be her future service dog when she loses her eyesight to a degenerative eye disease. She is accosted and Coco is dognapped, beginning a series of crimes as the dognapper wants his “package” back. This attack is how Eva meets Finn Gallagher and his K-9 partner Abernathy. Finn has a reputation as a charmer who dates a girl twice and moves on before anyone can develop feelings. Things are different when he encounters Eva. They both have issues to work through if they are going to have a relationship—Eva, her disability, and Finn, abandonment by his mother.

There are many complications in the plot and the mastermind behind the criminal network is not obvious. My favorite character is Mikey, Eva’s sweet, three-year-old nephew whose mother passed away only two weeks prior. The dog Abernathy (Ab to Mikey) is the perfect blend of comfort to Mikey and protectiveness and obedience in his role as Finn’s K-9 partner. Although Eva, to her embarrassment, can not provide visual descriptions of her attackers, her other senses are heightened. She can describe their voices and the odors she associates with them, valuable clues to their identities.

In this novel of faith, romance, action, and suspense, Finn is a man of faith and models prayer for Eva and Mikey. Eva recovers her dependence on God, despite her impending blindness, and begins to pray on her own.

Emily Sutton-Smith’s narration is very good with all of the voices. She brings the characters to life, especially little Mikey.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Blind Trust. This is the third book in the True Blue K-9 Unit Continuity Series. I have really enjoyed this series as it is written by some of my favorite authors. I was excited to receive Laura's book in the mail. This book is well written, action packed, and full of faith. I know you are going to want to read it.

Guide Dog Trainer Eve Kendall is working with a puppy that will one day be her own seeing eye dog. Eve is losing her sight. She enters the training center and she hears the dogs agitated. She finds a man stealing her puppy Cocoa. He attacks her and then leaves.

K-9 Officer Finn Gallagher and his partner Abernathy are called to the scene. Abernathy is a search and rescue dog so when Eve refused to go to the hospital he sends his partner after the kidnapper. Eve is determined to go with them. The puppy will be afraid and she can help settle him. They lose his trail after only three blocks.

A journey to try to save the puppy turns into a killer trying to take their lives. A journey of twists and turns but God has a plan for these two; a plan for a hope and a future. You might not have a killer after you but you do have an enemy that's trying to steal, kill and destroy you. God has a plan for you too. Trust Him with all your heart and watch Him reveal His plan to you. I promise you won't be disappointed. God is so good.

In this clean, Christian suspense romance, we are back in NYC with the city’s K-9 Unit and this time the story belongs to guide dog trainer Eva Kendall and K-9 officer Finn Gallagher.
When Eva goes to work and enters the training center, a man is there stealing Cocoa. The dog she is training to eventually become her guide dog as she has developed a degenerative eye disease. Before the man leaves he threatens her and tells her she better return the stolen package.
The police arrive, and it’s K-9 Officer Finn and his dog Abernathy, who show up to help her.
Could the dognapping and the threats all be related to her recently deceased sister? Was she in trouble?
Meanwhile, the dangerous men seem determined to harm Eva in order to get the package and Finn has made himself her protector.
As these two work together , feelings develop. But Eva doesn’t see a future because of her decease.
Will the package and its content be found before Eva is injured or worse, killed? Will Finn turn his back to Eva because of her decease?
The story was engaging and the main characters well developed and likable.
Meanwhile, the murder of their recently murdered reader is still unsolved homicide.
Lastly, the narrator, Emily Sutton -Smith, brought the story to life.
I was entrusted a copy of this audiobook by Netgalley and Harlequin Audio. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Guide dog trainer Eva arrives at her work, a dog training center, just in time to see a big burly guy stealing one of the puppies, Cocoa. They tussle but he's bigger and stronger and gets away. Eva is confused and heartbroken. Going blind, Eva was training the puppy to be her guide dog. She calls the cops and gets sexy Finn and his Yellow Lab Abernathy from the True Blue K-9 unit.
The burly guy told Eva she could have the puppy back as soon as she returned "the package" her sister stole. Trouble is, her sister was killed in a car accident and Eva has no idea what the thief is talking about.
This is a Christian-lite mystery romance. Finn is a love 'em and leave 'em kind of guy and Eva, going blind, believes she is doomed to be alone because no one could love her as a blind woman.
Good writing, quick plot, interesting characters, especially the dogs.

Eva is training guide dogs in Queens New York. Finn is a police officer with a k-9 partner Abernathy. One morning, a puppy (Coco) Eva is training is stolen. Finn and Abernathy respond to the call.
The reason behind Coco's kidnapping is complex. Eva and Finn have much to navigate to bring Coco home.
Eva is watching her nephew Mikey while his dad Pete is at a conference. Mikey is a sweet little guy and steals the show.
The balance of suspense and personal issues to work through so that the romantic side has a good ending is well done.
I enjoyed the narrator of the audiobook. I would recommend this book to those that like Christian romantic suspense. This is a book that was previously published but is being released as an audiobook in 2026.
Thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin audio for the opportunity to listen to the book.

Guide dog trainer Eva Kendall finds herself caught in the middle of a deadly ring of drug traffickers who believe that she knows something she doesn't. K-9 officer Finn Gallagher wants to help her find out what is going on, and keep her young nephew safe, but can she trust him with her deepest secret?

An engaging fast-paced read, with a lot going and a plot that kept me guessing. I like that Finn is a man of faith and is open about what he believes. Eva has a lot on her plate, training dogs, caring for her nephew and trying to figure out why the bad guys won't leave her alone.

A riveting read, with strong likable characters, good growth and development, as well as interaction. Highly enjoyable. Definitely recommend!

The next book in the True Blue K-9 Unit is checked off my list.

The storyline for this one was good, but not as exciting as I hoped it would be. I got on the edge of my seat for the suspense, but it could’ve been worked a little better in my opinion.

The romance was almost too much and too fast for my taste, but I did like how the main characters worked together.

The one thing I really struggled with was the faith aspect. It was kind of confusing. The characters pray about things, but from my view it seemed that Eva didn’t have a relationship with God. That really was never addressed in the book, and it bugged me.

Extra points for adorable Abernathy and Mikey ✨

"Blind Trust" is a Christian romantic suspense. It's the third book in a series but works as a stand alone novel. The main characters were likable and reacted realistically to events. Eva's going blind from a hereditary disease, so she couldn't clearly describe the dognapper who stole the puppy she's training to be a guide dog. Finn got her case and quickly became comfortable around her: joining her at home for a meal, hugging her when she's distressed, and it progressed into kissing and deeper caring. He helped protect her and worked the case when a drug ring (who took the puppy as motivator) demanded a package that Eva's sister took from them. Only, they can't find the package anywhere.

Eva felt certain that no one would want to marry her and have a family with her since she'll soon be blind and her kids are likely to go blind, too. Finn simply didn't care about it. He admired her character and her beauty, so he now had a reason to try a relationship when before he felt like few cop marriages work, so why even try. The suspense came from the physical danger to Eva, her nephew, and the puppy and the push to find the package quickly. Finn taught Eva (mostly by example) to pray to God. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this exciting novel.

Eva Kendall is a dog trainer that is caught in the middle of someone trying to kidnap dogs. Finn Gallagher and his K-9 partner is assigned to the case. Finn doesn't understand how Eva can't be more helpful in finding the person responsible. Eva is afraid to tell him her secret that could ruin everything that is developing between them. The kidnappers don't want Eva to be able to tell what she saw. So they try to silence her. This is a fast paced mystery.

I received this audio book from Love Inspired Suspense via Net/Galley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

Edge Of Your Seat Reading!
This book is the fourth in a series that would be best read in order. The series is about the NYC K-9 Unit and its handlers. There is an over-reaching story arc throughout the series. Each book features a different K-9 and handler pair with a romance in the background. Each book is also faith-filled as the cops seek divine protection and guidance. These books don't contain much blood and the violence is not over-done. There is plenty of suspense to keep those pages turning. I love this series and highly recommend it.

While this was a quick read with a gorgeous K-9 labrador called Abernathy, I must say I found the plot and writing simplistic and quite repetitive. I thought Eva's nephew sounded much older than a three-year-old and the fact he spoke so fluently was unrealistic.

Although Blind Trust was supposed to be a mystery, I felt the author spent too much time on the romance between Eva and Flint I wanted to see Abernathy and the other K-9s in action far more than they were. A meh read.

I enjoy any books about cops and canines, but I have a serious problem with the plot point of this book. I don’t think an aunt and a cop, who are taking care of a three-year-old, should be teaching that child to pray and emphasizing how “important” it is, without discussing it with the child’s father in anyway. Doesn’t matter what religion, doesn’t matter what sect, the parent should be in charge.I might’ve given this book 3 stars except for this.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and Laura Scott for the advanced listening copy.

Blind Trust was a fast-paced Christian romantic suspense with plenty of action, danger, and heart. I especially enjoyed the K-9 elements and the faith-filled themes woven throughout the story. While parts of the plot were somewhat predictable, the engaging characters and steady suspense kept me listening. A solid read for fans of inspirational romantic suspense!

Eva Kendall stumbles across someone stealing one of her puppies that she’s training to be a guide dog and calls the cops. Finn Gallagher and his K-9 partner are sent to the training center to investigate. After that every time they turn around Eva is attacked or someone is trying to kidnap her. Finn and Eva need to figure out what the bad guys want before it’s to late!

I thought the relationship between Finn and Eva developed way too quickly. Within seven days of meeting, they are deciding to marry. (I know!!! Love at first sight!!) I liked learning about the dogs and their training. I did like the Finn's character, and I enjoyed figuring out who was involved in the attacks on Eva.

Another from the canine romance stories I thought I was interested in, but no more.
Eva is going blind and gets pushed around when a puppy is dog napped right in front of her. The cop and his canine and Eva fall in love, of course. Like the other book in this series, it was very low on dog and high on romance and religion and some mystery.
Just not what I like to read.

I actually rounded up to a 3.0 rating. Ms. Scott got a little too preachy for my taste. In my opinion she is the weak link in this series. It seemed like every other page was a prayer or a sermonette. I am a Christian but this totally ruined what could have been a really great story.
The main characters were one-dimensional at best and Eva was not very likable. I almost didn’t finish it.
