Quick note - you'll find that this story is pretty sweet. Tilly comes home one night and gets told that her entire life is about to change. Her mom gives her a new uniform for a fancy private school and tells her that she’ll be coming home to someplace new when she starts on Monday. Tilly tried to get her head around everything, but when the impossibly hot guy she sits next to in science decides to knock into her so that she spills juice all down her new blouse, she realizes that even if she tries, she’ll never fit in. When Tilly’s mother gets married, her stepbrother decides to pull a prank to end all pranks, but he doesn’t know that Tilly is still in the woods where he had just sent hundreds of fireworks on their path of destruction. The night ends in painful screams, but will he be able to make up for what he has done and will Tilly ever get over the scars that the night has left on her? A**hole Stepbrother is a 20,000-word contemporary sweet romance.
This book was awful. I normally love step siblings romances. I liked Tilly but thats about it. Things happened way to fast. Felt like the book had no true character. Like they are dating and in school and then bam he bought her a house. Like why did his dad give him money like that it was out of nowhere. This book was truly awful. Sam was a terrible character and the way he acted was was awful. I just hated the book. There was no real character to the book to be honest it didn't feel like it had a plot at all just a conflict and ending.

When Tilly has to switch to private school, where she was sure everyone hated her from the start, she got a cold stare from the other students. They knew immediately that the new girl did not fit in. So no one welcomed her.
Tilly had not been prepared for the sudden move and the drastic change in her life. She was a senior with plans for the future and tons of friends. She went home on a Friday and her mom announced her pending marriage plan, to a man Tilly had not even met yet, and said they would move across the state by Monday – oh, and she was attending her new private school on Monday! She hadn’t even had a chance to say goodbye to her friends. She would miss prom and never get that kiss from her current crush. So she locked herself in her room, put on her headphones, and cried at all she had just lost.
After the juice incident, Tilly got up and left school. Her mother’s directions got her lost and she had to hail a cab to find her way to their new home. She asked the driver if he was sure this was the place, since it looked like a colosseum in Rome! A maid answered the door and rushed her up to her new room to unpack before dinner. But suddenly the door opened and the rude classmate walked in without knocking. He was stunned to see her in “his home”. And he blamed her treatment at school on the fact she didn’t tell him who she was. They were both tense in the dining room and James left without eating.
Tilly had been there months now, and she looked good with the changes she had made in her appearance. Sam, James’ friend, had come over for game night and stayed for several more since it was summer. He was admiring Tilly from James’ bedroom window and, when James couldn’t talk him out of going down to the pool to see her, the two of them headed down together. When Tilly ignored Sam’s flirting, he insulted her and was stunned when James snapped at him that he should not do that. Sam grinned and accused him of liking her more than just a sister. After that, James avoided her completely until the evening of their parents’ wedding.
Sam approached Tilly and said he had something to show her. She told him no funny business, she just wanted to see what he had said she would enjoy. But once in the woods, he grabbed her. She pushed away and tried to find her way back to the reception, but was lost. Same returned and told James that Tilly was probably back at the celebration. Then he urged James to follow him to the fireworks they had set up for midnight. He assured James that no one was in the woods, so it was perfectly safe. The last large cannon fired, but failed to go into the air like the others. Instead, like a torpedo, it fired into the woods. James heard the scream and raced into the woods to find an injured Tilly. She looked up at him, and then fell into unconsciousness! How badly was she injured? Would she ever forgive him for the burns and suffering?
This is a well-written book that just flowed off the page. The story line was really good. I loved James and Tilly's characters and the emotions the reader feels between them. The story itself is emotional, with enough drama and tension to keep the reader fully engaged in the outcome. Everything moves at a perfect pace and I am sure you will enjoy reading it as I did.
A quick read into the taboo world of steps becoming lovers with the real sad twist of what damage peer pressure can cause. The characters are believable with real life situations that bring their true selves front and center. Tilly and James' lives are turned upsides down when their parents announce their upcoming marriage out of the blue. James is rich and has snobby friends while Tilly is from the other side of the tracks, so to speak. One look at her and James is stunned by her natural beauty but his friends and classmates have a different outlook on Tilly, she's poor and doesn't belong. When a prank gets out of hand and Tilly is severely injured the guilt eating at James has him wanting to confess everything and admit his true feelings and everything else be damned. Will Tilly forgive James for the hell her and his friends out her through??? A great story that reminds us not to judge a book by its cover and the real story lies within.

In this book we meet Tilly and Jared. Tilly is told all of the sudden that her mom has been seeing someone for awhile now. She is also told she is going to be changing schools that next Monday, just 2 days away. Tilly knows she will be the odd girl out since she is starting in the middle of her senior year what she didn't expect was all the hostility. Jared can't stand school most of the time but when he comes to science class and the new girls sits next to him. He knows it will be trouble though from the first moment. When things go from bad to worse he doesn't know who to fix things. Can these two find a HEA or will first impressions make that impossible for both of them?
This is a great short story. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Between the erotica genre tag, the taboo topic, and the title, I expected something way different than what this story delivers. This is a romance between step-siblings, and despite the taboo nature, the romance was really sweet. The title is the A**hole Stepbrother. He wasn't exactly friendly in the beginning and he made some regrettable choices, but I didn't see anything that made me think of him as an a**hole. With this being an erotica, I expected a lot of steamy scenes (or at least a few since it's short), but there was only one scene where things were heated and it was near the end of the book and still relatively mild. If this was listed under a different genre with a more appropriate title, then I would give it a higher rating because this was a really enjoyable short story. It just doesn't fit the title and the genre.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Tilly and James. Tilly came home one day from school and her mother told her she was getting married and Tilly was going to start at a new private school the next week. Tilly was not happy with this arrangement and when she started school, she met James. James spilled juice on Tilly and bullied her with his friends. When Tilly went home, she learned James was her new step-brother. James and his friend decide to pay a prank at the wedding involving fireworks, and Tilly was injured. James wanted to make it up to Tilly and tried to be there for her. I liked this book, i thought James wasn't as bad as i first thought. I think both James and Tilly were blindsided with the wedding of their parents and didn't know how to handle it. Good one.
I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. This was a fun with story about Tilly and James. Tilly's mom tells her on Friday they are moving in Monday and she's going to a new school and her mom was getting married. James's sad says he has a surprise for him on Monday. But at school he sees a new girl and the popular kids want him to do something to get to make her go away, so he spills juice in her. So image both of their surprise when Tilly comes home and James find her at his house, this is his surprise and he's going to be her step brother. An accident causes the two to become closer. Great quick read.

This story is a bit misleading, at least the title is. When I first read the title I thought it was going to be one of those kinky, seriously taboo stories with lots of unnecessary sex in it. I was pleasantly surprised though. The story is about a boy and girl who meet during the second half of their senior year of high school when their parents decide to get married. The story takes about 1 1/2 years total from start to finish, so it's not really that taboo at all. Aside from their parents being married to one another for a bit of the story, it's just like any other romance about a boy and girl who meet and fall in love. Decent read.
This story is a fairytale romance of immense proportions. James is your typical rich boy school bully and he picks on Tilly on her first day of school without knowing how she fit into his life. It is your typical boy pulls girl's pigtails because he doesn't know how to express his feelings. The has drama, bullying, violence, friendship, forgiveness and a happy ending in the midst of personal growth. When you finish reading this book, it will definitely make you smile and feel good. A definite must read.

Unexpectedly thrust together when their parents decide to marry, the rich kid and the poor girl become siblings. Can the hero overcome the pressure of his peers and treat the heroine the way she deserves?
This was a surprisingly sweet and romantic book. It shows the dangerous balance of trying to fit in and being true to yourself. I thought it was very well written and very easy to read. The characters were well developed and I could feel their emotional struggle. Overall it was a very enjoyable story by a new author (to me, that is).
Highly recommended.

Well maybe James was at first but that quickly changed. Tilly’s mom shocked her one day after returning home from school, they were moving and she was getting married. Her first day at her new school went as expected, lousy. She meets a hot guy during first period and the same hot guy dumps her drink down her shirt at lunch. Next thing the same guy walks into her new room in her new house and asks what she is doing in his house. The look on James’ face when he sees her in his house, priceless!!
ONE DELIGHTFUL TALE!!! Oh man, talk about starting off on the wrong foot. All the drama, fear, uncertainty, pain and suspense make for one enjoyable experience. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it really pulls this bad boy together beautifully. The twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few unexpected circumstances and unpredictable surprises around every corner really draw you in. Nicky did a great job bringing this read to life. Thanks Nicky for sharing this little guy with us.
Peer pressure, drama, uncertainty, pain, fear, ups and downs. Everything is thrown uppside down when Tilly's mom gets engage with James's father. James his born rich aandacht his snobbish bullying her at school cause she's from the wrong side of the road, but he's stunned by her beauty. When at the wedding his prank goes wrong and Tilly is badly hurt, that's when he wants to come clean and confess his thrue feelings. Will Tilly forgive him for the hell she's been through ?

Decent storyline, well developed characters evolving, and then it was over. It seemed as if this book was rushed at the end. It started with Tilly and James being in high school, and then with no bridge, they found their HEA. Overall, I did enjoy the material that was there, but I think many plots and characters should have been expanded.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I thought it was good. It was short and felt a little rushed but I liked it. Despite a rough beginning for these two, Tilly and James were a good couple and good for each other. I would have liked to see a little more to their story *I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is my honest review.*
While not a truly erotic, taboo romance, this is a sweet well-written romance between step-siblings. After some school-age bullying and belittling. At first, the H is somewhat of an asshat, but with some personal growth and upon knowing the h better, his attitude definitely changes. Both characters are well-described, relatable and likable after some maturing. The storyline

This is definitely a stepbrother love story, but it is also an enemies to lovers trope as well. Loved this story. Tilly has her world turned upside down when her mom springs a new stepdad, house, school and oh yeah stepbrother on her over the weekend. And of course the stepbrother is the jerk from school. Is there any redemption to be had?

Tilly's life was good up until her mother told her that they were moving. Tilly didn't like the idea of moving away and leaving her friends and school behide. When Tilly first meant James, James did something to her that she couldn't believe. This was a short read. I enjoyed reading this book. I loved the storyline and plot. I actually liked the story. James and Tilly started off on the wrong foot but glad they grew from there. I only wish there would have been more interaction with the parents and what they thought of their relationship. But I enjoyed it and will be reading the rest of the books.

James and Tilly hated each other when they were first thrown together by their parents getting married. After Tilly's accident, they started getting close to each other. After all the drama clears they have a happy ending.

From the book cover and the title I was expecting something different to what this book is, yes they are step-siblings (but only just!) didn’t grow up together, haven’t even got the same last name, but the story was nice, obviously apart from happened to her, but ended up being a sweet story 😊 I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The title of this book gave me the impression that the brother was A**hole, where is fact he was just weak in my eyes. Just felt there was something missing. I liked the storyline but felt there was no real interaction between Tilly and James. There was more about Tilly and Sam than with James. sorry

I was intrigued by the blurb and chose to read this book because of it. The story moved quickly. There was teenage angst and a bit of bullying. I didn't like her treatment of him. He was a great character. I did like the story as it progressed and I was impressed by how the author gave the relationship some maturity it deserved.
Wonderful story from start to finish, entranced by the characters... I enjoyed reading this book. Was a wonderful read throughout. The characters pull you in and make you want to read more. Keep it coming... I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received a free copy of this book however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. I thought the storyline idea was good but it just didn't seem be written to its full potential and I thought the interaction between the characters was stilted. Having said that, if you can check reality at the door before you read it, this book could be a nice quick read with your coffee.
She is good by her mother she is going to a new school, it is a private school where she has a prank played in her. When she learns she is to have a stepbrother and stepfather. She is in the woods when fireworks are set off and screams echo around. What happened? Who was hurt? See what will happen
