It’s a last-minute deer hunt at Bigfoot Ranch in Eastern Oregon. Wilderness guide Hart Davis reluctantly agrees to a booking: seven rough-looking men who don't look like they need any pointers on killing things. Little does Hart know that an innocent, long-ago favor—a package stashed away and forgotten—has become something worth killing for.
Alone, with only the clothes on his back, Hart must survive not only being hunted by ruthless mercenaries and the local authorities, but also the onset of winter in the Strawberry Mountains. He has only one advantage: he knows this wilderness like the back of his hand. Somehow, he has to survive long enough to get the message out—a message that could topple a government.
I've lived in Bend, Oregon my whole life (which is becoming increasing rare in this boom town.) After the U of O, I wrote Star Axe, Snowcastles and Icetowers.
While trying to write full time, I started filling in at a local book/comic book store, Pegasus Books. Eventually, I became full time and then manager, and then 30 years ago, I bought the store.
My wife opened her used bookstore, The Bookmark, ten years ago and is also writing these days. She has a book online called, Telling Tree, which is wonderful, and will publish her the second book of her trilogy, Once on a Blue Moon.
I have two sons, Todd, an artist, and Toby, a chef.
So my writing career took a back seat while I tried to keep the store alive and raise a family.
In the last few years, the store has become stable enough that I've been able to come back to writing and I've been writing like crazy.
I've just sold a four book deal to Books of the Dead Press. Led to the Slaughter has been released e-book and will soon be available in print form on Amazon. I also sold a trilogy, The Vampire Evolution, which consists of Death of An Immortal; Rule of Vampire; and Blood of Gold.
I've been very busy, with several other books in the works.
I hope you guys will check out my books. I try to make them entertaining and fast reads.
Great yarn brings in all the storylines from Bigfoot to cowboys. The story also mentions at a distance a well known American person on trumped up charges.
What's not to like ,a bulletproof Bigfoot, assorted grizzled gun toting aging senior citizens . A manic head case killer ex wife off her meds, an on the run ex mafia (possibly) footsoldier turned accountant A hidden cache of documents that could bring down a conspiracy and a government. A posse of bad guys,a hunt through the woods. Did I mention a bulletproof Bigfoot. Great characters both good and bad. Loved it.
A great book, would make a good action film. I found this book by accident and liked the sound of it, the price and the other reviews, not my normal read but I’m really glad I found it.
