Another suitable idea for making a quick buck whenever I get to the point of disillusionment with life and have no standards. The book is considered the standard book on environment for those preparing for the Civil Services Examination, but is hardly anything more than a glorified table of contents. Pretty much used the book to read explanations of terms on Wikipedia.
The book isn't reflective of Shankar IAS Academy's general quality of work.
comprehensive. the book doesn't talk to you. its just full of facts and facts and facts. makes you remind of the sorry state of indian education. but as its not Shakespere, doesn't matter until you are getting the facts right. wish the next edition comes up with a nicer layout.
I found this book very bulky and now with the changing pattern, this book becomes inadequate to solve all env related questions. You have to study current affairs and link both the theory and current together.
Introduce yourself with the basic concepts of economy with this lucidly written book. This is collection of important concepts and facts in the environment section while also a crips of interesting facts at regular intervals by the name 'Did you know'. Enriching while fun learn at the same time.
