Miles & Mistletoe

Rate this book
****Miles & Mistletoe is a 37,000+ word holiday novella****

Ian Zerlinger is a man who is used to getting what he wants. And he definitely isn’t a man who takes no for an answer. It’s that drive, learned from childhood, that aided in his ability to turn around his company, Zerlinger Beer and Spirits, into the success it is today. That’s why’s it’s especially imperative that Zerlinger Beers’ holiday season goes well with its many holiday brand extensions. The last thing on Ian’s mind is women, more specifically, dating, unless it’s his need for a date for one of the many holiday events he’ll be attending over the season. Naturally, in walks Stacia Langton, a flight attendant for the private airline Ian readily uses. Upon their first encounter, Ian is as dismissive of Stacia as he is of just about everyone else he encounters. However, on the night of Thanksgiving, while both are volunteering at a shelter, Ian’s callous comments rankle Stacia’s nerves one too many times. Unable to stop herself, Stacia let’s Ian know exactly what she thinks of him. Now Ian can’t keep the seemingly perfectly quaffed woman, with a sometimes sharp tongue, off his mind. That’s when he makes her a proposition she can’t refuse: Be my date over the holiday season or else …
What started out as merely a means to acquire someone to have on his arm at the holiday events he has to attend, quickly turns into something deeper. After thousands of miles traveled together, and a few kisses (and more) shared under the mistletoe will Ian and Stacia decide to remain dating once the holiday season is over? Or will one of Ian’s meddling employees destroy what the couple have come value as a genuine friendship leading to something more?

WARNING: Some spoilers ahead, proceed at your own risk!

You don't find too many heroes with a bald head and one eye, kudos to the author for giving us something different.

This is a fast read. No nonsense Ian Zerlinger doesn't suffer fools gladly and he lets any and everybody know it. When Ian catches his private flight to LA he's his usual brusque self and Stacia Langton his flight attendant is all smiles in the face of his rude behavior.

Later Stacia volunteers and serves Thanksgiving dinner at a homeless shelter where she encounters Ian and his team taking photo ops at the shelter. After overhearing his rude remarks about homeless people, she has one choice word for him, and he decides then and there to get to know more about her. Being a great customer of the airline has its perks because Ian requests Stacia as his beck and call flight attendant and his desire is granted. Under the threat of losing her job, Stacia is forced to go along with Ian's request that she be his date during the holidays for various company functions or else suffer the consequences.

They slowly build a friendship and her love of life and how she sees it allows him to see and experience simple things through a different lens. Their relationship eventually turns romantic and is without strife until Ian's jealous PR employee plots and schemes to separate them. Along with Stacia, we endure their break-up. Ian was very cutthroat about it and as a far as I'm concerned he could have kept his gift -- even if they are a girl's best friend.

When Ian's brother Bruce questions him about the situation, the wheels finally start to turn and only then does he order an investigation. His explanation to the Stacia didn't work for me as to why he ended it on a holiday that was very special to her. Still, I enjoyed this story up until a certain point and I think you will too. Recommended: Read It!

3.5🌟

I loved Ian’s and Stacia’s story. Their beginning was rocky, but evolved into something much more—something that neither anticipated. They each battled their inner demons as well as outside attempts to derail their burgeoning relationship. It was also great that one of the unforgettable Townsend couples made an appearance in the book.

I would have given a 4 🌟rating but there were a few glaring grammatical errors and wrong homophones, e.g., roll instead of role. I will say, however, that this is not typical for this author. I still enjoy her books; her characters are quite memorable.

In sum, this was a very captivating read.

Souls emerge together

This is a very excellent Christmas novella. Ian and Stacia are cute together. Two lonely souls emerge together and set off on a lifetime adventure. It is good to hear about former characters. My heart dance with Nikola and Devyn made their appearance.

It's now 6/10 ... while I have ... ish? mixed feelings? about this ...
[:X although I can't remember what]

I want to say THIS book actually made me tear up! When Stacia goes home to Atlanta after Ian turns on her. [Low key ... was Stacia name dropped/had a VERY slight cameo in Black Butterfly?]

I also really wanted to learn about the older Zerlinger and his wife - but I don't think they have a book. [Or at least it isn't on 'zon...]

Now Ian. He's definitely emotionally stunted. I felt his "excuse" for turning on Stacia was pretty contrived. Although I guess it does make sense when you're kinda floundering and given even the barest reason/~opportunity to hop ship..

I liked that Stacia told off Ian. [I'm STILL mad that Ian just ... believed whatever that bitch was - the PR person. IT JUST DIDN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE. And yes I get he was low key trying to find a way out because he was panicking but ... USE YOUR FUCKING BRAIN] - even with knowing emotions cloud us and make us stupid just ... GRRRRR.
And I think ALMOST the bigger issue is ... him being a stupid jackass asshole ...

He gets off/Stacia forgives him SO EASILY. Grr.
I get he's sorry but just a few cartons of eggnog? [And the trip to Paris I guess...]

HE WAS JUST SO CLUELESS. SO MUCH FOR BEING THIS SAVVY MOGUL. [Granted there was the call/the plant but ... still.]

I did love though that Ian had the hidden artistic side - I actually kinda thought he might've even been one of the artists exhibited, but it didn't go that far.

I thought it was interesting too, Stacia's visit with her family. Not quite sure what was going on there.

I liked that Ian's brother had Stacia's back/gave her a ride- some of the wording though.
*I do feel I have to note there were writing/editing issues again/still. :|

But Ian and Stacia's dates were really cute and you KNEW he was in deep when he canceled his business/social obligations just to take Stacia to his cabin and spend time with her <3

Solid C ... I can see myself re-reading this.

I wish there was more Townsend :P Aaron and Patience make an appearance - not ... I kinda wanna/need to know more about why Aaron backed Ian's brother...
[I also don't get Ian and his brother's relationship...]

3.00 stars. KUB # 51. ( BWWM) Short. Predictable. Lusterless. An okay Yuletide story. Stacia Langton is a 28-year-old female attendant for a private airline, she's professional, service minded and traditional while performing her job; but is often candid, outspoken and curt when annoyed or when she's confronted with injustices. Ian Zerlinger is the wealthy owner and CEO of a lucrative beer and spirits company, he is a no nonsense, unfriendly, opinionated impatient loner who resists interpersonal relationships. Ian and Stacia have two confrontational interactions before Ian uses his leverage with Stacia's employer to convince her to spend two weeks of the Christmas Season as his date. As Ian and Stacia spend time together, they develop a physical and romantic relationship and Stacia becomes the envy of Ian's girl Friday who has been secretly waiting in the wings to become his love interest. In the end, Ian and Stacia become a couple and celebrate with his cousins, Arron and Patience Townsend and the rest of the Collins Clan.

Scrooge finds the love this life:)))

Miles & Mistletoe was a fairly decent read about a grouch, Ian, and his need for a date for holiday events. His date ends up being the all-smiles flight attendant that called him out for being an ass, Stacia. Over the course of a month and a half, Ian and Stacia walls of defenses melt away with sweltering heat.

Sex scenes weren’t to crazy and as descriptive as to what I’m used to. The plot was consistent and exiting. I had a good sense in who the characters were and how they normally behave in certain situations. Overall, this standalone book kept my attention throughout and had s satisfying HEA. It was a tad bit predictable but not annoyingly so that I bored.

I’d recommend this to anyone who likes a The-assface-alpha-man-does-change—-a lil—--for-her romance.

I liked Ian

What started off as oil and water, turned out to work for them. Sounds like another story.... Blackmail that turned into love. They didn't even realize when they fell in love, because they were just spending time together, enjoying each other. The crazy PR lady Jamie, she was paying attention, she noticed Ian was falling in love and sent her into acting crazier. And it took them going their separate ways, to make Ian realize that his heart only belonged to Stacia. He was afraid of love, because he had never been there. It took his brother to kick him in the ass to make him look at his life. And I loved his answer to how her she answered his proposal. I loved Ian and Stacia, another good book.

Perfect title!!

Miles &Mistletoe, you have to read it to u understand the title. ,
Wherever there is a mistletoe Ian and Stacia find themselves right under it without meaning to. And they traveled miles and miles in leftover a month... Which help them to spend so much time together and learn to know each other as friends and lovers. What started casually... Well, read it and find out!!
Great read!!
Wasn't surprising that Aaron and Ian are some kind of "friend". So much alike!
Was nice to see the Collins guys!! Well, Nikola and his wife anyway!! Andre was mentioned, not seen!!

Good novella

Loved the herione's name. Ian still has me a little undecided on him because he's so... I mean the man made Aaron Townsend look like a saint and if you've read his book you'll understand what I'm saying. Speaking of Aaron it was nice to hear from him and Patience again. I also enjoyed Nikola and his wife popping in. That darn Jamie mad me so made. I figured early on she would be a problem. I also pretty much called Ian's response to the supposed revelations brought to him. All in all I like Stacia and Ian as couple. He can be a douche but she levels him out and isn't afraid to speak her mind.

Extremely Exciting

WOW I really enjoyed this book and it easily stole my heart. There's a powerful combination of passion and drama that will put a smile on your face. The characters are captivating, and their family is amazing and their happiness is contagious. The story is so suspenseful and exciting when you add in their drama along with their emotions about their love and the intriguing twists their family put them through you have a tale that's truly delightful. I couldn't help but enjoyed their story along with how the relationship began. This is definitely a great story to read.

I loved it !!!

This was a really good book. It had a interesting story. I was not a fan of Ian in the beginning of this book. Like Stacia said he was a jerk but it is so interesting how a person was raised effects them their entire life. What a horrible father to put the brothers against each other and tell his son not to make friends they will just betray you. Ian and Stacia were an unlikely couple. It is true that the right partner can change everything. I can’t say more without giving the story away. It has a wonderful ending! Lots of twists and turns before that but a very happy ever after. I highly recommend this book.

Ian and Stacia were Christmas spice and everything nice. I loved all their interactions and how they naturally found the unexpected within the other.
Ian was temperamental and stubborn. When he encounters Stacia on his flight as his flight attendant and then again at a soup kitchen he is smitten with her. He gets a good feeling from her while she feels the complete opposite with him. Stacia is beautiful with a kind heart. While her outward appearance reflects prim and polished its the woman behind the mask that charms Ian.
They were a couple that was sweet to envision with the perfect amount of hot chemistry to back it all up. This was a novella I cannot wait to read again!

Worth Reading

The title was perfect describing Ian and Stacia. Ian was such as @ss when he first met Stacia, but that didn't stop him from wanting her. And just his luck he sees her again when he's at his worst creating the perfect excuse for him to see her again. Stacia was such a sweet person that spent most of her time alone due to the strained relationship with her mother and meeting Ian and being pulled into his web was actually the best thing to happen to her. The two really needed each other and had to overcome some issues to realize that their love was real. Definitely a good read and will go in my book carousel.

This was a cute book to read, and I really like the fact that Stacia stands up to Ian when he acting like a big jerk.

To be honest this book has been in my library for a while, and not because I did not want to read it. But more so that I usually get a tons of books at the same time and I try to read them whenever I get the chance.

I do love Tiffany Patterson books, at least the ones that I read so far and I was very happy with them. So I had a high confident that this book would be off the hook. And this book is an okay book, compare to her other books. I did enjoy it.

This Mistletoe is magical. I got so caught up in this story, their chemistry was off the charts and their "dating" time was enlightening. Love Stacia, she is bold, compassionate, sassy and content. Ian is arrogant with a cut-throat, strictly business persona. Stacia challenges him and entices him with her wit, carefree and upfront attitude. Ian is also content in his facade of being in control, he has to learn the hard way who's friend and who's faking it. Whirlwind of emotion, a little bit of drama, humorous and spectacular groveling....

Loved it

This was so cute and good. Ian was surly and mean. Stacia was strong and sassy. Take no prisoners type of person. I love how you include your characters from your other books in each books especially the Townsends. It's so funny how none of these powerful men never smile unless its with their wife. It's funny. I love your books, (well, some of them). I especially love the Townsend clan. I felt so sorry for Ian and his brother. I am glad they found women that love them, not their money. Recommended read.

A SEXY SWEET Christmas treat...about a 3.5...Ian was an A$$...but Stacia brought out the BEST man in him...they complimented one another...however I was a bit disappointed in the ending...Ian was a complete JERK...for him to take Jamie and done man he didn’t know word over Stacia...just WRONG...and IMHO Stacia took him back too quick...their should have been some MAJOR groveling from him before she so willingly accepted his apology...other than that it was a GOOD holiday read.

I just love holiday stories

This one was been added to the list. I thought the story had of a Cinderella feel. Although she was basically forced to what girl doesn't want to dress beautifully and on the arm of a handsome man. I must totally agree with Stacia, big brother Bruce and Ian himself, he was indeed an $*&. Thank goodness he didn't remain as so. Sorry not sorry for Jamie. Great story.

WISH IT WAS LONGER

I Liked IAN & STACIA. Such a cute couple. She had to put him in his place after their first meeting and who would have known that sort of turned him on.

I have read a lot of books by this author and this couple was mild compared to her other characters. (I guess that was because it is a novella)Her previous characters usually have had a traumatic situations in their past but these two not so much. All in all not was a good read.

3.5⭐️

I love how packed this novella was. There was a balance between the plot and the smut. Though a bit predictable with the third act breakup, there was still some excitement and suspense about how things played out.

It was fun reading about a ‘less than perfect’ MMC. It was also good to catch up with characters from previous books. There are a few errors which affected my rating.

If you love a quick Christmas novella then you will enjoy this.

Letdown!

I usually love anything this author pens. I'm really disappointed because this storyline was rushed and the characters thrown together but by what? There was no real passion between the characters it just seemed like words written with no real feelings. I hope this was a one off.

Friends First

Nothing like a spicy woman putting you in check to get you turned on. Ian faced this predicament when Stacia held nothing back when telling him how she felt. All it took was a little blackmail a month of dates and a small sidetrack brought on by a jealous heffa wanting the boo spot for the couple to get their happy ending.

Good book!

I enjoyed reading this book. I found both H/b to be likeable. Even when Ian was being a a$$ he was kinda sexy. Stacie was strong and gave as good as she got. Don't hesitate getting this book, nice well developed short read. Bravo Ms Patterson I've read many of your books and you don't disappoint.👏👏👏

Two 👍's up!

Love it! Love it! Love it! I guess that will teach Jamie to keep her mouth closed next time. Ian is a total jerk. But I also place the blame on his father that shaped Ian into the man he is. Stacia is a sweetheart with a good heart on her shoulders. She changed Ian within a month's time. I loved reading the change in Ian's character page after page.

Enjoyed It

Ian reminded me a little bit of Aaron Townsend with his mean demeanor. Stacia didn't let his attitude get to her. They are great together. It was nice seeing Aaron and Patience Townsend and The Collins family in this book. Happy Stacia forgave Ian. Can't wait to read more books from you.
