“An intricate, layered, deliciously twisty plot and you won’t be able to help polishing off this book in one sitting.” USA Today
Risa Caldwell decided to take a different trail through the woods that morning…and it would change everything that came after.

In case tripping over a dead body wasn’t enough, now Risa has a twisted ankle, too much forced time off from her job as a firefighter, and Dark Falls’ own FBI agent Ethan Eames following her around…

Ethan is confident he’s been parked in Dark Falls until the FBI can decide what to do with him. He’s on shaky ground with the Bureau after the incident in Florida, but solving the case may mean leaving Risa exposed to a killer.

The first body leads to more. And Ethan realizes they are facing a killer that has been operating—uncaught—for decades. Can Risa and Ethan put an end to his long string of murders? Or will they simply be his next victims?

Enjoyed this story, just not as much as previous Dark Falls books. Seemed to have a lot of dialogue, and not much action, except between Risa and Ethan.

Dark Echoes

This is another addition to the multi author series, Dark Falls, with Risa, a female fire fighter finding love with Ethan an FBI agent. He was sent to Dark Falls and was working out of the police department as the line agent. They met when Risa was joking on a new trail and tripped on something that made her twist her ankle badly. As it turns out it was the body of a child that was missing. He was now put on the case of solving this murder and Rosa had to help him locate the spot that she had found the body. This one murder opened up a whole can of worms of children murders going back years and that of a serial killer or killers. It was amazing how they investigated and solved this case together while falling in love. They also had to escape these killers and run for their lives because they were going to kill them next. This was a fantastic story and I cannot wait to read the next release.

It’s not easy for FBI agent, Ethan Eames to be his agency’s only representative in Dark Falls, it means he’s alone on and off the job. Though Ethan had a little work recently, he’s hoping it was busywork. Firefighter Risa Caldwell was enjoying running on a beautiful day until she tripped and sprained her ankle badly, on the dead body of a child.

Both Ethan and Risa are relatively new to town and attracted to each other; with Risa unable to fight fires on crutches and Ethan without FBI support, the pair use the case as a reason to see/talk to each other. Ethan and Risa bounce ideas and share clues but Risa hasn’t told him how unsafe she feels at her own apartment. The twist from the norm was interesting!

This book takes us in a slightly different direction by focusing on Risa and Ethan, the firefighter and the FBI agent, rather than the Dark Falls detectives. However, by coming at it from a different angle, it’s able to tie together so many of the questions I still had at the end of some of the earlier books. I loved watching the push-me/pull-you dynamic between this pair. There were times I wondered if Ethan and Risa were ever going to get their acts together. I occasionally despaired over whether or not they were going to solve the case, too. And this story just goes to show how long the memory of a small town really is.

I purchased a copy of the novel Dark Echoes: Ethan and Risa in the Dark Falls Box Set 1-5 Dark Falls, CO Romantic Thrillers by Savannah Kade et al and this review was given freely.
Tension filled with a touch of steam, this is an interesting story in that it covers a 200 year time frame and links several storylines and characters from the Dark Falls series.
Deciding to try a new running trail, firefighter/search and rescue tea member Risa Caldwell trips over the body of a missing girl resulting in her becoming involved with dissatisfied and frustrated FBI agent Ethan Eames both professionally and personally.

I'm a big fan of the whole Dark Falls series and a fan of Savannah Kade books, too! So this is right up my alley and did not disappoint. Intriguing mystery in a series of dead bodies--there's a catch there I won't spoil—but needless to say, it make it all that much harder for the murders to be solved. Love the female firefighter heroine (Risa) and the struggling FBI agent Ethan. Also, there's a nice little easter egg surprise here if you have read the NightShade series by AJ Scudiere (SK's harder hitting pseudonym)!

Risa Caldwell, a local firefighter, literally falls into the latest murder case in Dark Falls. Since the victim is a minor that was kidnapped and brutally killed, justification belongs to FBI Special Agent Ethan Eames.
The facts are leaning towards a serial killer, but the time line isn’t adding up and the case keeps getting more bizarre. With Risa’s assistance, Ethan starts to make headway on the murders. Risa and Ethan begin a romantic relationship, that includes some sexy time on the evidence table.
This book kept me guessing and certainly held my attention.

Not my favorite of the series. The mystery was fantastic and very engrossing. However, I just didn't feel the heat between the main characters. Loved Risa, she is a fabulous character and very believable, funny, smart, and very determined. Just didn't get Ethan that much. He was kind of down on himself most of the book and that was a turn off. May have not been enough internal dialogue to convince me when they first got together. Sorry, can't define why it didn't feel real. Possibly the writer's style is what I objected to.

Crazy crimes

The crime was bad to begin with and then quickly spanned a lot more bodies and years. The case with Missy is finally solved as well. The writing is good and the story flows from one scene and emotion to the next. The couple has great chemistry and it was interesting to see more of the FBI agent who has been mentioned but not heavily featured in the other stories. Great descriptions, crime solving and chemistry! Enjoying this series and can’t wait to read the next book.

Risa and Ethan were both great characters. Risa was a strong woman who was a fireman and it was great to read her story. Ethan was FBI and felt that being in Dark Falls was a punishment. When the two get involved after Risa finds a body they find a lot has been going on in the area. Lots of action and plenty of steam made this another great story in Dark Falls. This series is written by several authors and I have enjoyed every book.

I have really enjoyed this series. This installment was a little different as it focused on FBI agent Ethan and firefighter Risa. I liked the characters and appreciated their strength and depth. The story was interesting and I was surprised by the ending. I will say the pacing felt slightly off at point. There were times I felt this was a 5 star read, and other times when things seemed to slow down a little. Overall it is still an enjoyable read!

Risa finds a dead body when out for a run on a new trail for her. Ethan is assigned to this case; he is the lone FBI agent in town. He feels like the FBI moved him there to get rid of him. I have been reading all the Dark Falls books and they have all been really great.

Mystery with darkness

This book is not something I enjoy. I really liked the characters. But as the title says there is a lot of darkness to it. That's not for me.

Nicely creepy. Strange connections made this mystery quite interesting. Only by combining skills do they survive. Nicely done.

He doesn't expect the full package!

But Risa definitely has it all! We have met Risa a number of times before a strong, kick ass, sassy firefighter who also has a softer side and a heart of gold, she struggles to find herself somewhere between that kick ass firefighter and the girly girls her friends are. She is mortified when the first view Ethan has of her she is dirty, sweaty and hobbling towards him, Ethan fails to notice anything other then how stunning she is and how well she fits in his arms.
Neither one can deny or resist he attraction that flares between them, but before they can explore this attraction and where it may be going they need to solve the puzzle that is the body Risa discovered. The more they investigate and dig the less sense the evidence they uncover makes, Ethan thinks he has lost his mind and will shortly follow this with his job at the FBI. The more evidence they uncover the more twisted the puzzle becomes and the more danger they find themselves in.
This is a fantastic series, one of my favourites with the perfect mix of good characters, suspense, drama, intrigue, crazy killers and romance. I am already looking forward to Harry's book which is released on 26th March - I am expecting feisty and explosive!
