A 2 for 1 read.
Weekend warrior:
A group of women form the Sisterhood to right the wrongs done to them. Vigilante justice one case at a time.
One "sister" was raped by three men seven years ago in front of her invalid husband...statue of limitation is up and justice turns a blind eye to her pain. Well this new group are out for blood..um well balls to be more precise.

Payback:
One sister passes up her turn but the next name drawn is more than ready.
Julia contracted HIV from her cheating Senator husband. Her job as a doctor is over, her health is failing and her husband is the one to blame! But that is not all Julia also brings to light Monarch HMO greedy trio who deny treatment and fatten their bank account while people die.

I think I have fallen in love with the sisterhood. I can't wait to finish this review and jump into the next book....Myra gets her Vengence.

The first book of this series Weekend Warriors sets up the background for the formation of the sisterhood, and presents their first mission. The second half of this book is the second book in the series Payback. In this book the antagonism between Nikki and her former fiancee intensifies and the Sisterhood carries out its second mission. I had a hard time believing the women in these stories because they so easily moved into the role of vigilantes brandishing guns and gleefully exacting some rather graphic retribution from those who had done them wrong. I could believe the bad guys deserved the punishment and that the law was not going to provide it, but I just can't see these women carrying out the things the book says they did.

I read a lot of random books from the "freebie" paperback rack at the library - this is one I grabbed & I could barely make it through the first book in this two-parter. The idea is good - victims seeking revenge on their attackers, who the legal system let slip through the cracks. The first victim was raped by three men - I don't want to spoil anything but let's just say their plan for revenge is as crude & uncreative as you could possibly imagine. Just ridiculous. & uninteresting. Back to the freebie shelf you go, book.

I found this book very entertaining and kept my interest right up to the last page. In fact I could'nt wait to start the next book. I will not say what it is about because that would spoil the fun of reading it. But I really enjoyed these first two books.

Love the concept, but some of the details just didn't add up. But these books are early in the series and I hope the rest of them are a little better.
