Sorry if this question (or the statement after it) is stupid but who’s the person on the left side of the cover? She looks familiar and so fucking adorable but I can’t place it.

What’s it about?
An advent calendar/anthology of X-Men stories!

What I thought of the stories:
Mele Kalikimaka by Chad Bowers, Marco Failla and Israel Silva ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Funny, cute story with cool artwork. Kinda confusing ending though.
Never Again by Chris Claremont, Terry Dodson, Rachel Dodson and Chris Sotomayor ⭐️⭐️ Maybe it makes sense if you’re currently following one of the MANY X-Men comics that are going on right now but it didn’t make much sense to me. Also there was the mention of Kitty Pryde so possible (though not entirely sure) anti-Trump notes that... no matter how you view things do you really want a political message in your Christmas themed comic? I will give it 2 stars though because the illustration that goes along with it is AMAZING (I’m not gonna show it though because the story is only one page and the illustration takes up the whole page)!
#Hotclaws For Hanukkah by Charles Soule, Ryan Browne and Jordan Boyd ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic art and pretty funny. Great one page story. The only reason I say 4 instead of 5 is the hashtag right in the title. Unless the story is social media themed just... don’t.
Dreaming of a Wade Christmas by Jean Grae, Shawn Crystal and Rico Renzi ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A+! Perfect one page Christine story! A short and very humorous Christmas adventure with Deadpool and Jean Grey (well, kind of, you’ll see what I mean if you read it), the art is amazing and the ending gives a nice twist. Excellent, best story of the anthology! PS- If Marvel sees this, I would SO read a Deadpool/Jean Grey team up series.
I Hate Christmas by Zac Thompson, Lonnie Nadler and Amilar Pinna ⭐️⭐️ WTF? Some character I don’t recall seeing in any other comics before (I think her name’s Nature Girl) explains why Christmas trees are evil so Christmas depresses her. Yeah. The art’s still good though.
Jingle All The Wait A Minute by Chris Sims, Chad Bowers, Marco Failla and Israel Silva ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Continues the first story. Not as fun as part one. Still interesting and has very good art though.
The Chiche Who Stole Christmas by Styles P, Poobs, Luciano Vecchio and Carlos Lopez ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Considering how it’s a short story and that most of these are only one page it’s good at telling a fun, even kinda sweet in a way story but I think the idea would have worked much better as a few-pages story.
White Elephant by Sina Grace, Cory Smith and Jordan Boyd ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nothing great in terms of storytelling but nice art and fun, even if a bit cheesy.
The Impossible Enemy by Cullen Bunn, Roland Boschi and Dan Brown ⭐️⭐️ Could have been good (especially since I usually think Bunn is a good author) but wasn’t. While the art is nice it for some reason feels the need to get into political stuff which... I don’t get why we’re pushing this political stuff in a Christmas comic (yeah, I know the X-Men have always been political but still).
Christmas Jeer by Charlamagne Tha god, Alitha E. Martinez and Jay David Ramos ⭐️⭐️ Some radio host or something (I think) that I never heard of before gives us a political story about Storm being a complete out of character bitch (in all fairness it was because a guy was being a dick to her but still, this guy’s gonna hate mutants even more now and Storm did attack a guy and destroy his hat giving mutants a bad name), guess I shouldn’t expect a good story from someone that calls himself a “god” (that’s cheesier than a bowl of Kraft). I will still give it points for good art and a kinda humorous final panel. Oh and for making me finally realize that
Deck The Malls by Chris Sims, Chad Bowers, Marco Failla and Israel Silva ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Interesting story with cool art, I was getting a bit lost on what’s happening getting only a few little bits every few days with this bigger story throughout.
The Giving Season by Christopher Daniels, Ray-Anthony Height, Lebeau Underwood and Jay David Ramos ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A very funny, surprising story with great art. There was nothing I didn’t like about it (well, maybe except for one character acting like The Last Jedi’s a good movie but everyone has their opinions I guess, even if they’re wrong).
Christmas Cat-Astrophe by Kelly Thompson, David Lopez and Chris Sotomayor ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Another home run (I think that’s the right term, hell if I know anything about sports, I have been to baseball games and everyone gets excited over home runs, shit I’m getting distracted). A hilarious, kind of surprising and this time intense story about Rogue and Gambit’s four-legged fren (yes I spelled it that way on purpose)!
The Gift That Keeps On Giving by Chip Zdarsky ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ So, I’m surprised because I’ve read one book that Zdarsky wrote and it’s completely awful (Kaptara) but this... this is actually really good. The art is well done (he also drew this so, nice job there, Chip! Already knew he’s good at drawing), the story is well done and the final panel is very funny. My only problem is one panel looks very... off but hey, Zdarsky was busy drawing, writing and coloring so overall very well done and slightly makes me rethink my “if the first book I read by an author is a one-star don’t bother with any others they wrote” policy.
Home For The Holidays by Al Ewing, PJ Holden and Antonio Fabela ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I didn’t entirely get this one since I know jack-shit about Cannonball and don’t get why the fuck they’re on this weird alien planet in general. However the story’s still fun, the art is pretty good and unlike some of the other stories that approach politics, this one’s political stuff is actually well written and funny so I didn’t mind it as much.
The Naughty List by Anthony Piper ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A dark yet fitting story with Domino. The art is excellent. I really like this one, I think if someone manages to make a 5-star one-page story that’s impressive especially since the guy who did this one did everything on it.
Baby Steps by Leah Williams, Marcio Takara and Chris O’Halloran ⭐️⭐️ Maybe it’s because I know fuck-all about these Braddock characters but I really didn’t like this one. It tries to be emotional but fails (at least to me it did... maybe if a puppy was there it would have worked... I like puppies). The dialogue is terrible especially with some toddler taking her first steps while saying “I am uncomfortable performing at this level of scrutiny.” What fucking toddler says that? At least the art was okay.
Deck The Halls by Ed Brisson, Pere Perez and Chris Sotomayor ⭐️⭐️ A kinda silly bit that I honestly didn’t find funny but the art is fantastic.
Secret Santa by Vita Ayala, Pere Perez and Chris O’Halloran ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This story’s funny but nothing more which is okay since I’m pretty sure funny is all it’s meant to be!
All I Want For Christmas is You by Chris Sims, Chad Bowers, Marco Failla and Israel Silva ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fun and exciting though a bit underwhelming when it’s the one page of your advent calendar/comic for the day.
The Longest Night by Tini Howard, Brent Schoonover and Chris O’Halloran ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic storytelling and artwork. Not the typical story I would expect with the featured characters but certainly a pleasant surprise!
Blue Christmas by Rainbow Rowell, Kris Anka and Matthew Wilson ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m conflicted on this one. On one hand it’s very well written and has good artwork but on the other hand it’s depressing as fuck.
And To All A Good Nightcrawler by Seamus “Esoteric” Ryan, Michael Shelfer and Frederico Blee ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cheesy story about not spending too much time on your phone. Would be 2 stars but the art is great and one joke in this one is particularly funny.
Gift of The Madri by Matthew Rosenberg, Andy MacDonald and Tamara Bonvillain ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very funny, well written and has good art. Would give this a 5 but one part seems to mess up the continuity.
Walkin’ in a Winter Murderland by Chris Sims, Chad Bowers, Marco Failla, Israel Silva ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Multiple page end of the main story that we get bits and pieces of throughout. Very well written, humorous and exciting. Great artwork too.

Overall:
Pretty good. Would recommend it even if it suffers from the same problem most anthologies suffer from: the mix of good and bad things.
But yeah, I mainly just wanted something fun to read and for the most part it is fun so I’d say it succeeds in giving me what I want.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I liked it! But it would have been better if every story was a bit longer that 1 page. Although I don’t know some of the characters, I could still follow through the stories. Really cute, a nice Christmas read.
I didn’t really read one every day, I just waited for them to pile up and read a few pages.
Really fun!

Its a cute holiday anthology, however I found many of the stories to be too short.
Having less stories and making the ones who stick as long as Jubilee's, or just a little shorter, would've been the more interesting way to go, I think.

Definitely hit or miss, but that was hardly unexpected with the anthology format. There were a good number of great ones. Two of my favorites involved Beast, one that was silly and had Star Wars references, and one with feels. Kelly Thompson provided another silly one with Rogue and Gambit. There was a pretty good one of Magneto written by Cullen Bunn. Chris Claremont gave a great Kitty Pryde page. Nightcrawler showed up pretty often, but not very well written. One of the weirdest had Gambit talking to Multiple Man, and while it was an enjoyable story, his writing had absolutely no Gambit-isms. So yes, hit or miss but mostly enjoyable for sure.

This had a bit of an unusual structure. The first twenty-four pages were each a single day, from December 1st through the 24th and then the remaining few pages were December 25th. I expected that I would hate it (as I often do issues with multiple shorter-than-an-issue stories), but found it quite enjoyable to see all these snapshots of various characters through the month. Nothing earth-shaking, but a fun read for me, as I pulled it out of my to-read box on Christmas morning.

This holiday special shows how difficult it is to write a 1-page story. Some of the "stories" were okay, some were "meh". I suspect that since I'm not up to date with the X-Men some meant absolutely nothing to me. 2 stars for the okay stories and the art work.

I had to scoop this up for some seasonal reading. This comic was fun, but I was not a giant fan of the format and the story itself was not that interesting. Good artwork in this one but mostly forgettable.

This was easily the best of the 3 holiday issues from the big two this year.
Held together by an ongoing story line for Jubilee, we get individual pages for each day of December that tell a short tale about a member of the X-Men celebrating the holidays or doing something festive.

This was a really enjoyable read. Basically a collection of small anecdotes that happened in December. The reunion of Betsy and Brian Braddock meeting over Brian and Meghan’s daughter’s first step was really cool. Also, Arcade is such a goofy and enjoyable villain. This is a great diversion.

I love the cover. The one-page stories I ultimately found frustrating, since for the most part, they didn't tell complete stories. Cute concept, though.

Divertido, sin embargo los personajes no son los más relevantes salvo algunos y bueno dado a que es un especial navideño, esta bien para pasar el rato ...
