This book was awesome! I loved the direction this story took! Not only was there even further character development for Sienna throughout this book (which I didn't think was possible since I've been reading this series since January 2016), but there was also a lot of development for Olivia as well. I especially loved the way things turned out for her in the end. Brianna's story arc was also very well done, so this one gets five stars from me.

Another cracker from Mr. Crane

I've been waiting what seems like forever for this next instalment of Sienna, it was definitely worth the wait. Development of existing characters, epic, loved their storyline too. I only wish Brianna had jumped on Sienna last minute in a dying grab on and given her the ice powers..... That would have made for an interesting storyline... Just saying.

RJC never fails to impress with his work. Each book has a plot which you don't see coming so for this we can't help but admire his creativity.

After going through hell, losing her reluctant soul pals then eventually redeeming herself epically, Sienna is now almost back to square one albeit with a different moral compass.....almost.

This case whilst reluctantly working for the FBI tests her and I'm sure this will continue in future books. It's a good turnaround for her although I'm sure it's going to get complicated.

The metamorphosis of Olivia was inspiring, as was the support and encouragement she received on her personal journey.

All in all, an excellent read with the usual humour we love from this author.

The series takes a slow, slow shot at the media

Sierra and the metas take a back seat to a lot of grandstanding about the media, PAC’s, politics and justice. Olivia gets her act together. The author tries to address sexual abuse justice but pretty much fails as they dwell again on Sierra’s weight and appearance, and use a groping of Sierra as a parallel story.

The story line tries to position her as struggling to fit into the FBI but wanders all over the place. Minor officials boss her around without concern which is almost laughable. The series requires the reader to put up with a lot of not so great writing but from time to time it seems that the author jacks themselves up on caffeine, writes all night and then pushes send.

Another highly anticipated chapter in Sienna's in going adventures and one of the longest ones so far. The parallel stories of Sienna and Olivia feature protagonists who couldn't be more polar opposites if they tried, and it's interesting seeing how they both approach their latest threats; Sienna facing a meta who's trying to assassinate a governor, and Olivia up against a meta causing havoc in Vegas. There are some heavy themes in this one which are dealt with respectfully and effectively, and as is par for the course for Robert there are plenty of twists to be had along the way. An enjoyable read from start to finish.

This is the longest book in the series thus far, but it really doesn't feel like it. The plot fairly flies along.

As always, this is told from a multi point of view, and we get to see further growth from our favourite snarky meta.

But what is so impressive about this is how effortless it seems. The unfolding of the plot arcs; the teasing out of further details for the wider storyline.

I've said it before, but it bears saying again. This is masterful story telling.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Excitingly wonderfully

I enjoy reading these books in this series. I like the heroin that the author has created. He has made me feel a range of emotions with her. I liked some and hated some of the things he has done with her. It is not obvious what he wants to do with her. Is he evolving her? What ever it is as long as she remains somewhat redeemable and likable I will continue this series.

Um

This book was weird. It was fascinating in some ways, but in other ways it just felt 'off'. Like there were words used in the wrong context in places, which I've never noticed Robert do before. And Sienna didn't come across like Sienna in the first part of the book. I don't know, I can't explain it, it just felt off to me and I didn't feel fully engaged until past half way. It won't put me off getting the next book though, I still love this world.

Not as gripping as normal

It took a few tries to get into this time. The book just felt different to start with . I had to 're read the first 3 or 4 chapters to try and motivate myself to finish the book. Normally I'd have finished it in a day or two.(usually as I walk the dog). This time it took over a week. Not too sure why, it just didn't have the same fast paced Sienna Nealon as it usually does.

Sienna is trying hard to adjust to her new role working for the FBI, which means trying to control her urge to punch people in the face... I think we've all been there! This edition sees a lot of growth from our favourite succubus, with a side narrative from one of the lesser known metas on Reed's team also trying to find her way. Quite a "feel good" vibe, I loved it.

Great

I always enjoy books by Robert Crane....this one was different. Sienna is becoming a hero without powers...I kind of wish she would just absorb someone's powers as she kills them.

Great read

Back with Sienna, working solo, but still kicking ass and taking verbal potshots. I love the action and humor inall these books. Thanks RJC for another adventure with our girl.

Who is

Running the country? This question actually scared me a little. We are all currently wondering that, the deep state, Facebook, Google, the Media. Who knows what goes on behind the scenes. Great story! And a great setup for book 25.

Great read

A whole new outlook for sienna in this book. Still the same smart mouthed kick ass we love but she seems to have a new outlook. Brilliant book and really looking forward to see where the story is going. Brilliant series and a must read.

Not the best in this series

Big fan of The girl in and out of the box series, but I was a little disappointed with this one. Hoping it’s setting the scene for something more exiting in the next book?

One For The Ladies

I obviously enjoy this series. This story was a little different from the typical books in this series because it tackled some striking topics in a very subtle way.

Young women are represented as strong, passionate, free to be themselves and influential.

This book was better than the last two. Perhaps Crane is limited with the number of plots for Sienna. I have loved this series, but it has been hard to stay focused since the Nemisis book when she met Rose. I miss that era so much.

Sienna is sent to protect the Louisiana governor from an ice welding assassin, but her mission becomes complicated after finding out why the assassin wants him dead. Olivia is sent to Vegas to help stop a speedster where she learns how better to use her powers.

going strong

This series is sooo good. I am going to be lost when it finally ends. I started out kind of feeling bad for Sienna, then I really disliked her, and now I love her. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

softer Sienna

Sienna is learning restraint. Maybe too well. The book has plenty of attempts at humor and lightness but minimal action. And none of mega! Really just an ok book that deserves a 3.5!

This is pretty standard for the series, which are generally fairly light quick reads. But there is an attempted sexual assault that is left entirely unresolved in a “boys will be boys” way. It sours the entirety of the book.

Glad she's back

I'm pleased that Sienna is back to normal; well, as normal as it gets for her. I like the way Olivia's story is going. Love this series!

Robert J Crane doesn't disappoint me plot or character-wise (though I am having grammar conniptions about the updated pronoun rules).

Changes in the air...

Engaging, but I missed a good life and limb knock down-dragout...
And I miss her having multiple powers and tenants in her head.
