Xmas: A Short Story
Dear Santa,
I know I'm a little too old to be asking for gifts from you, but I've had my eye on something special for quite some time now. Something so close, yet so far away.
I don't ask for much, but this--this is something I would love to have under my tree when the sun rises on that snowy Christmas morning. In fact, I believe this is the only thing I've ever asked from you, year after year.
I've been nice, I've been good, and if you check that list of yours, you will see I'm telling the truth. I do need you to know, though, if you can't get it for me this time, I WILL get it myself.
After all, they say taking matters into your own hands is for the better.
