I have officially grown tired of this manga. Somehow the characters manage to get dumber and more infuriating with each vol.
Granted, the protagonist finally shared her reason for not being able to allow herself to like the male love interest and it was a valid reason. But then she stupidly decided to pretend to be dating the love interest’s best friend who also happened to be the second love interest (as he clearly liked her too although she was too blind to realise it). The problem with this circular thinking was that it was so tiring to see the protagonist go “oh, I have all these issues because I faked a relationship. So in order to get out of that fake relationship I should... fake another relationship?!” (not a direct quote). The complete lack of logic was baffling but par for the course at this point.
Besides, her goal was to have the love interest back off yet the stubborn idiot of a love interest kept finding more ways to push himself onto her and be even more annoying than I thought was physically possible. In some sense it was impressive, but mostly it was just really creepy and problematic.
I imagine they will go round and round in circles a few more times over the next 4 vols until she finally admits she likes him in the last chapter. Thankfully, I won’t be around to see that happen as here is where I leave this manga.

3,5 estrellas. La valoración es por los 5 primeros volúmenes de este manga para adolescentes. Me ha gustado, pero tampoco me ha vuelto loca. El rollo que se trae Reita (al que con el paso de los capítulos acabas cogiendo cariño) con las paredes me hace gracia, pero no tanto las grandes inseguridades de Makoto (que en eso me ha recordado a la prota de Orange) y algunas salidas machistas de los personajes, aunque entiendo que la mangaka refleja a través de ellas cómo es la sociedad en Japón. Ay, Yusuke, algo bueno para él ya.

¿Puedo querer más a Reita? Que a ver yusuke también tiene lo suyo, pero es que el narcisismo que tiene Reita es lo más.
En este tercer tomo tenemos mucha más acción, más caña por parte de los personajes y creo que cada vez todos se pone muchísimo más interesante.
Además hablemos de ese final, menos mal que tengo el tomo 4 porque no me pueden dejar así, es que esto cada vez se pone mucho más potente jejjee.
¿Que sucederá?

I’m going to have major Second Lead Syndrome over this series because there is no way good-guy Yusuke is getting the girl. He is kind, thoughtful, and honest — probably the best second love interest I’ve seen in a while in a shojo manga. You WANT him to end up with the heroine. But this is a childhood-friends-to-lovers story, so my ship is sunk with no way back to shore. I still love you, Yusuke, and I wish I could have a clone of you in real life!
Anyway — I may sound salty, but this volume reveals that Makoto hiding her feelings for Reita and sticking to pretend boyfriends means that she and Reita are both idiots who are perfect for each other (and I mean that in the most loving way possible). They just need to be outright idiots-in-love now, end of story. This series didn’t need to be seven volumes for that kind of story.

OMG, this volume wouldn’t let me put it down! 💜 I was in it until the very end to see how the MCs figured out their feelings for one another - throw in some extra feelings for someone else and now it’s getting really good! I almost wish each volume was slightly longer so I wouldn’t be flying through it so quickly 😅

Aunque sigue sin sorprenderme mucho la trama, parece que algo empieza a surgir entre dos personajes que creo que van a dar mucho juego a la historia. O eso quiero creer porque es lo que le hace falta a este par de protagonistas. Aún me quedan cuatro tomos y espero que se den más acontecimientos importantes que me den un poco de intriga.
Por suerte, los dos mejores amigos de los protagonistas empiezan a tener mayor peso en la historia, cosa que agradezco porque son quienes le dan el punto de sensatez que necesitan.
Es cierto que lo que va ocurriendo son escenas divertidas y que ponen en aprieto a la protagonista, lo que hace que la lectura sea amena y entretenida. Espero que, ahora que haya puntos importantes sobre la mesa, la historia vaya cogiendo ritmo hasta el final.
Por suerte, los dos mejores amigos de los protagonistas empiezan a tener mayor peso en la historia, cosa que agradezco porque son quienes le dan el punto de sensatez que necesitan.

The Walls Between Us should have been the perfect recipe for success: we have two childhood best friends who are falling in love with each other, but only one of them is willing to acknowledge it; there's jealousy; complex familial relationships; strong friendships; etc.
Unfortunately, this manga is already 50% through its run and still hasn't gone any deeper than surface level. There hasn't been any soul searching or cute scenes between the characters. There have been no honest conversations. It's all just ... ridiculous in a way that makes you tempted to keep reading, but not passionate enough about it to spend $12.00 on an ebook.

Reita hace lo que cree que debe hacer y estoy de acuerdo con él. Le admiro por esa tenacidad y seguridad.
Makoto empieza a despertar aunque aún le queda camino, sin embargo es capaz de dejar de mirarse el ombligo y ver qué pasa con Yusuke.
Ay Yusuke que pareces un mar en calma y creo que guardas una tormenta en tu interior...

O rolo em que meteram o Yusuke, meu senhor 🤦🏻♀️
Esse volume teve muitos momentos cômicos do Reita e eu amei cada um deles. Também teve mais proximidade entre a Makoto e o Yusuke e também gostei muito disso, apesar de realmente torcer pro romance Reita/Makoto dar certo. Childhood friends trope for life!

En este tercer tomo me he encontrado más en vilo con este par….
Es que veo que Makoto va a montar un berenjenal muy bueno. Por su parte Reita parece empezar a actuar para pasar de la zona amigos aunque no puedo con ese narcisismo que se trae.
Y de Yusuke no sé muy bien qué pensar… espero que se vaya abriendo en los próximos tomos porque va a dar mucho juego, o eso parece!

A lot happens in this volume without our lead dealing with her issues. The ML is just kind of annoying in this volume but now that he admits and has accepted his feelings he is a full hurricane of ridiculous.
