Las Vegas Sidewinders: Zakk is the fifth book in Kat Mizera's hockey romance series. Kat doesn't just give us romance but suspense and mystery wrapped up with hockey - it's the perfect mix. Tiffany Marcus world is shattering around her. Losing her husband, being sued by her late husbands older children for his estate and trying to keep up with her twin boys is exhausting and draining for Tiffany. Zakk Cloutier is younger than her but Tiffany can't help but feel the attraction between them and his friendship is a pillar she needs to lean on. Zakk has been there for his late coach's wife whenever Tiffany needs it and keeping his feelings in check out of respect for Dave but as each day passes he can't help falling for the strong mother of two. When a dark character threatens Tiffany and Zakk with events from their past they both need to choose what's important in their lives.
Kat has created such an interesting world with the Las Vegas Sidewinders and Zakk's story was a perfect addition to these stories. I adored Zakk in Anitoli's book and couldn't wait for story since we all could see his attraction to Tiffany from previous books. Zakk is wise beyond his years and we get to delve into his back story while watching him fall in love with Tiffany and her boys. Tiffany feels broken and lost but is such a strong character who is tested beyond expectations in this story. At times I wanted to smack some sense into Tiffany and give her a good shake but what she does to protect others is beyond selfless. This one was interesting due to the couple. We've seen them both, but Tiff was different the wife/widow of a coach. It was interesting to see her click with Zakk and find happiness again. I was a bit stunned by all the drama from a player every one hated and the amount of crap this guy had on everyone in the team, from the top down. It seemed like things were doomed to fail between Tiff and Zakk and Tiff thought she had to protect everyone, but especially Zakk. I was glad that a close group from the team were able to work together and do what was needed to dissipate the threat. It looks like for now things are ok, but there might be some lingering issues for the next book, but at least Tiff and Zakk are living happy.

Zakk by Kat Mizera Las Vegas Sidewinder Book 5
WOW!!!!! This is all I can say. This installment for the Las Vegas Sidewinder series had me so interested that I stayed up to almost midnight on a work night reading until I got to the end. Kat doesn’t disappoint with this book with the complexity of the issue facing our main characters Zakk and Tiff.
Zakk Cloutier is a24 year old NHL hockey player for the Las Vegas Sidewinders a new expansion team. He is single and can’t imagine himself falling in love and getting married.
Meet Tiffany “Tiff” Marcus is a 30-year-old women who was married to the deceased Sidewinders assistant coach Dave. They have a 3-year-old twin boys, Duncan and Derek. Tiff has been morning the loss of her husband and has been trying to keep her body’s desires in check.
How do I even begin to talk about this book without giving away too much information? This book is by far the most complex in the series. Tiff has more than her fair share of issues between the law suite of Dave’s older children contesting the will to the mystery around her children. Her past is threatening any future she may have with her children or Zakk and all centers around Dave’s secrets that he kept from her.
The Sidewinder team is back to saving the day as they all pitch in when everything hits the fan. I know that I’m being vague her but every piece of this story is a puzzle piece that fits nicely into the entire series. I will tell you this little bit of information: The twins are not Dave’s biological children!!!!!! Yes, you read correctly not Dave’s children. So whose are they and what are the circumstances?
We get to see a lot more of Marco in this book and let me tell you I want to really hurt this man. I was angry, cussing and ready to through my Kindle out the window. Again my husband doesn’t understand my emotions when I read….he says they are just books!! Well let me tell you I get very invested when I read any book but these especially have meet waiting for the next book.
This book has a lot going on with the action, mystery, deceit, lies, kidnapping, love, lust and insecurities. If you enjoy a complex story with lots of moving parts and complexity of the characters that goes back many years, then this book will keep your interest.
I will also tell you that the ending left me hanging which I have not experienced with this series so far. I am eagerly anticipating the next book which is due out in January 2017.

First I want to say that I have loved everything by this author. She has a way of getting me engaged into a story so much that I cannot seem to put any story that she writes down. Fantastic Author! Amazing Stories! Naughty Characters!
Zakk's finally gets the girl in his story... He is the heartthrob of the team and as they bring home the Stanley Cup he brings home the girl that he cannot seem to get out of his heart and mind. She is the most beautiful, strong and sexiest woman that he has ever met. Doesn't matter to him that she is the wife to his late coach... he steps up and takes care of the beauty in more ways than one.
Tiff is the widow of Dave Marcus, he was the coach for the Las Vegas Sidewinders, this team is like her family. Even the very attractive Zakk, someone whom has always been a friend and always been there for her. Their attraction for each other comes to a head when she needs him the most; he protects this woman with a devotion that is so hot and beautiful.
Zakk goes to the ends of the earth for Tiff and her kids. When Marco (the Sidewinders Goalie and a dangerous man) manipulates Tiff all under the guise that she is protecting everyone she loves; Zakk has to protect the children and rely on his friends to help him rescue her.
This all leads up to Toli and Tessa's wedding; where I do not think that we have seen the last of Marco, the dangerous goalie.

ZAKK and TIFFANY - CAN LOVE CONQUER ALL
And you just thought the first 4 books were amazing! Kat has possibly made me fall in love with someone more than Anatoli (and he is just...yummm). There is always so much drama in Kat's books. I love it. Her books aren't just your average boring "boy meets girl; falls in love; lives HEA". They have lots of energy, excitement, twists and turns, and an amazing amount of love. I seriously struggle to patiently wait in between book releases.
We got a great introduction into Zakk (Jazzy) in Anatoli's book. Zakk was a life saver with Raina (Toli's step-daughter). He is Raina's favorite person, and I think mine too. And it's hard not to love Tiffany. She has truly had a rough life, but she is definitely the perfect person for Zakk. The struggles they go through would be enough to wreck any relationship. He will sacrifice all he has to be with her. She will sacrifice herself to keep Zakk safe. Their love is the stuff of fairytales!

Good but ridiculous
I mean it was good, but not the best out of the series. Tiff can't be that stupid. Can she? And from Marco's description he's a little shrimp. Why noone knocked him out? Zakk sound like a punk for allowing that shrimp to do all that to his family. I skipped a lot of pages, because I simply couldn't read how ridiculous they sounded.

What the fuck? No happy ending; the worst villain yet and she leaves him out there to wreak more pain. It essentially leaves all of our characters living in fear. This book was just gross on every level. Reading about all our favourite characters being blackmailed and tortured is not my idea of a good story. Seriously, way to ruin everything that has happened so far and salt the earth for the rest of the series!!!
I started reading this series because they are supposed to be hockey romances. Instead they are porn with plot, and those plots barely mention any actual hockey. Instead of romance I am getting suspense thrillers with one-dimensional villains who completely lack any motivation to behave the weird way they do. Just so disappointing.

We have met Tiffany in previous books and she is such a sweetheart and you cant help but want her (and her little munchkins) to be happy after losing her husband and I really felt Zakk could do this especially how he turns so shy at times either around her or when the other guys talk about her along with he just wants to make her happy and help where ever he can. This book took me on a ride of highs and lows as Tiffany and Zakk and you can't help but want to pull your hair out as you just want them to be together but there always seems to be something to get between them including themselves at times.

And then there is Marco, the star goalie for the team. He has become obsessed with Tiff and decides he will have her no matter what it takes.

I'm beginning to realize that this series is sort of a soap opera. It's hooks you in with wild story lines and leaves you hanging and panting for more. I also realized that I need to read Kat's Inferno series as I missed something with Dante since the death of his best friend and his baby mama and thus need to read it before I continue on with Tessa and Toli's story and whatever the fuck happened.
And lastly, can someone please tell me why the fuck no one either filed a restraining order against, let alone turn Marco over to the police or FBI?

November 1, 2016This book goes well with the rest of the series. It is about Zakk who is a hockey player for the Las Vegas Sidewinders. He is a player with woman as well. He is the type of guy who loves them and leaves them doesn't get a phone number doesn't take them to his house. All of that changes when he gets a chance with Tiffany. Tiffany was married to one of the coaches of the team. Her husband died of a heart attack. He was much older than her. Her husband had found her working as a stripper that gave awesome blow jobs as a way to make extra money to put herself through college. They said she was older than she is to not make it seem so bad. Her husband got cancer and they couldn't have kids after so he found three donors and did a lottery shake to decide who was going to be the father of the their kids. They ended up having twin boys. And one of the players of the team who is a ass thought to make trouble because he wanted her. If you want to know more you are going to have to read it and find out for yourself.

In this book, we get a great view of how Tiffany's life has been since Coach Dave died. We also learn more about Zakk and just the type of man he is. I really did not like Marco before this book, but his sneaky, underhanded, conniving, threatening ways really made me hate him. There are some real highs in this book and some real lows about things. When people start mysteriously getting hurt, what is going on? Who is behind it? Why? What is the ultimate goal here in this book? I could not put this book down, even when my eyes were watering from being tired. I fell asleep reading this book, but was able to get right back into it as soon as I woke up. I cannot wait for the Christmas book and the upcoming #6 book for Toli and Tessa's wedding. This book does leave on quite a cliff hanger, which I know will come to a head in the 6th book. Enjoy the read, this book definitely does not disappoint.

Zakk and Tiff's story is really good and well worth reading. There is enough suspense, tension and mystery to keep you on the edge of your seat, but also a wonderfully romantic love story. I felt a real connection to both characters and cared about what happened to them. Tiff and Zakk are both really well written characters, they both make some silly decisions but I love how human and normal this makes them feel. Their chemistry is off the charts and there are some super steamy scenes to balance the danger and peril.
There are lies upon lies to wade through, thankfully in this instance not lies by the main characters, though they do have some secrets to admit. The struggle to find truths and reasons held my attention throughout, as did the excellent writing, good pace and intriguing plot.
Whilst the ending isn't a cliffhanger, as such, part of the story is set to continue in the next book, Tessa and Toli. Without a shadow of doubt I will be reading this book as soon as possible and hoping that someone unpleasant gets his comeuppance.

This is the 5th book in the Sidewinders series and can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading them all (coz they are amazing and you should know them all - warning they are all HOT)
Tiff is the widow of the assistant coach, Dave Marcus. She always knew Zakk was special but she hadn't realised how important he would be in her life.
Zakk is a young player who likes playing the field in more ways than one but when he is starts spending more time with Tiff, he can only think of her.
When the give in to their feelings things don't go smoothly for them. Tiff is stuck in a bitter court case with Dave's older children contesting his will but thinks get even worse when a jealous admirer gets involved.
Is this all too much for a young player like Zakk to cope with? Is their age gap too much to deal with?

This is book five of the Sidewinders Series. This series is about hot, yummy hockey players and the women they fall in love with and protect. Book five is the story about Zakk falling for Tiffany who is the widow Dave Marcus, who was an asst. coaches of the Sidewinders. When his coached died suddenly Zakk steps up to help Tiff out with as much as possible including the court battle with Dave’s older kids, household items that break, and of course her twins. Tiff has some secrets that she has tried to keep to herself but the sidewinders evil goalie has decided he is going to have Tiff one way or another. To protect Zakk she leaves and goes through hell, will Zakk save her in time? Just like all the other Sidewinders’ books this makes you fall for the alpha type that will do whatever needs to be done to save the women they love. I highly recommend this book!!!

The story doesn't conclude with this book which is annoying. The premise is also pretty ridiculous. I don't care how good a goalie someone is Marco would never be able to get away with what he does, especially once he loses his leverage. Tiff is too whimpy, especially when she finds out something from Marco that could potentially solve everyone's problems and does nothing with it. The old trope about threatening people a character loves in order to bend them to the villian's will and having it work because the victim is too stupid to talk to the people being threatened to see if it's even a valid threat is just grating.
Having said all that I love Zakk and am happy for Tiff getting her HEA (well, at least as it ends here...who knows). I'll definitely read the next book as I've read all the others.
