this was the first paperback book i read in a while and made me realise how much i like holding a physical book. at times i struggled with the language (spanish is not my first language), especially the technical terms but i was overall surprised by how much i understood and how the author’s storytelling shone through. i felt that it was important to read a text about argentina and tango while i was in the country and feel like this was an excellent choice. i was already excited about experiencing tango in person but felt like it was essential for me to read about it in advance. i was also interested in understanding how queerness comes into play with tango and the book provided that explanation very well. the author is very knowledgeable and the book transferred this knowledge very well through the storytelling and explanation of the author’s life and her experience with tango
