Quoi ?! Les Gaulois n'en reviennent pas ! À la suite d'une mauvaise chute, Panoramix décide qui'ill est temps d'assurer l'avenir du village.

Accompagné d'Astérix et Obélix, il entreprend de parcourir le monde gaulois à la recherche d'un jeune druide talentueux à qui transmettre le secret de la Potion Magique!

Mais ce qu'il ne sait pas, c'est que le terrible Sulfurix, son rival depuis leurs années d'études à l'école des druides, a échafaudé un plan machiavélique pour s'emparer de la recette de la Potion Magique. Par Toutatis, s'il y parvient, le Village est perdu !

Hmm… c'est rare un album d'Astérix qui me laisse sur ma faim… peut-être parce qu'il a été écrit en pensant film? La présentation traditionnelle des villageois au début m'a manquée… ouais, je sais, elle est répétitive mais ça fait partie du charme des bds d'Astérix. L'idée de penser que Panoramix pourrait avoir besoin d'un successeur n'est pas mauvaise et j'ai ma p'tite idée sur qui pourrait le remplacer … à vous de le lire :)

This issue is not part of the regular Asterix series and is in fact taken from a movie. Oddly enough, the book at hand is not a real comic but rather a story accompanied by images (that are referenced from time to time to convey some actions better, or to avoid descriptions). The story revolves around Miraculix falling down from a tree and realizing he might be getting too old to do his job as the village's druid. He tries to find a successor, but in doing so attracts the attention of the corrupted druid Demonix, who wants the secret of the magic potion to himself, so he can wreak havoc across Gaul. Miraculix denies him, but Demonix tries to hire an uninitiated druid to get the secret of the potion instead... The story unfolds in interesting ways, but because of its limitations of not being a real comic, it has to rush past many moments of the movie and doesn't achieve greatness.
Not a bad issue, but far from the best.

Omg I absolutely adore the illustrations in this book - so pretty!

Also the plot poses an interesting question, obviously as Panoramix ages (and well obviously he won’t be around forever), who will replace him? And not only that but who can be trusted with the magic potion?

I like how they revealed some of his history and trails and tribulations druids have to go thru to become druids. I’m a sucker for stories that give me lore lol. Also very interesting how women are forbidden from becoming druids but this installement hinted that potentially and hopefully in the future pectine could take Panoramix’s place - hell yeah women Druid!

Also the village for set on fire … AGAIN, why do they keep illustrating that? It’s kinda traumatic.

"Czy warto sięgnąć po tę pozycję? Moim zdaniem tak. Rzadko kiedy bowiem bohater drugoplanowy dostaje szansę zagrania głównej roli, a tym razem taka nadarzyła się Panoramiksowi. Przekonajcie się zatem, jak poradził on sobie w nowej odsłonie 🙂 Poza tym album ten stanowić będzie po prostu ciekawy akcent w kolekcji każdego miłośnika przygód Asterixa i Obelixa – zarówno tego młodszego jak i starszego."

Delusione😩mi aspettavo un nuovo numero di Asterix da leggere con calma, molta calma per recuperare quegli attimi spensierati di alcuni decenni fa invece si tratta delle versione cartonata del film.
Da comprare solo per gli irriducibili amanti dei “Galli”

Novellizazione dell'ultimo film di Asterix, ma con disegni veri, non CG appiccicate alle pagine di testo.
La storia è buona, non ai livelli eccelsi di altri film di Asterix, ma è un bene che riprenda questo tipo di produzione.

Ik vond het verhaal heel leuk wanneer Panormaix zijn opvolger moet kiezen maar we eigenlijk al weten wie het zou moeten worden... blijft een mooi boekje wel jammer dat het geen gewone strip zoals de meeste anderen.

Ce format d’album de film se prête bien mal aux récits de bande dessinée. L’idée est bonne, les personnages sont familiers, mais l’esprit s’y fait trop rare.

Mi aspettavo un fumetto, silly me!

Invece sono solo parole messe sulla pagina e spesso tralasciavano dettagli importanti per la storia. Personaggi che sparivano dalla storia e poi ricomparivano senza ragione.

Forse per apprezzarlo - e capire tutti i collegamenti - è davvero necessario aver visto il film.
