MacIntosh Meadows #2

The Omega's Dance

Rate this book
Listening Length: 5 hours and 29 minutes

What do you do when your one-night stand shows up in your regular life?

Alec Santiago is a single dad with a busy job; the last thing he’s looking for is a relationship. In the years since he lost his husband, he’s stayed faithful to his memory—aside from the occasional hook-up when he gets lonely.

Kade MacIntosh is a flirty, fun-loving, and happily-single omega. The only commitment he’s interested in is the one he’s made to teach dance to the kids of MacIntosh Meadows. Alphas? Please. Who needs them? Not Kade. Especially after the way he watched his parent’s marriage implode when he was a child.

After a one-night stand in a neighboring town leaves Kade pregnant by an alpha he has no way of contacting, he’s ready to be a single dad. But what the heck is he supposed to do when Mr. Hot Stuff shows up in his studio?

The more that Kade and Alec try to pull away from each other, the more that fate keeps shoving them together—through busted water pipes, awful parents, pregnancy woes, and dance classes with cute kids who are way too smart for their own good.

This book is over 55k and contains mpreg, adults adulting in fun & sexy ways, and probably more pottymouth language than should be used in a book with kids underfoot. 18+ readers only please.

I'm a total fan of M/PREG Paranormal Romances, first and foremost as a reader. I'm excited to share my own omegaverse(s) with you. What's not to love about adorable Omegas and the Alpha men who love them? If I'm not writing about men sporting baby bumps, I'm definitely reading about them!

I'm a native of Las Vegas, NV, so I'm pre-wired to love everything weird ~ although I don't find any kind of love to be weird. I'm a cis woman who's been happily married to the same lovable lug for 18 years. We have a 16yr old son, well, at least I think we do? Either that, or we have a ghost that eats all our food and uses up all wifi playing xbox while screaming into a headset.

As a new author, it's been amazing to find the amount of support that I've been given from readers and my fellow authors. Feel free to message me, I love to chat with fellow readers. Am I a reader? Heck yeah! In fact, I'm never certain that I can completely trust an author who isn't a fellow bibliophile.

I will try to update here when I'm doing promotional parties & chats. I usually do those on Facebook. If you haven't already signed up for my newsletter, you should totally do it! I only send out NL's to announce new releases or important announcements. I also like to note in my NL what I'm currently reading along with a cover shot and the link for anyone who is interested.

I look forward to interacting with everyone here!

Sweet and hot. Loved the manties, I only wish there had been more scenes of Kade wearing them.

(Despite the rating I liked this one more than I did the previous installment; I'm tempted to re-rate that one...)

Drew Bacca's narration was fun & flirty, rough and hot - depending on the character. I loved that.

I hope Lincoln has a book...he needs his own HEA considering how his marriage to that harpy bitch turned out. (Also, I'm dying to know how/why he even ended up with her originally!)

3.5 ⭐️’s, this was a cute sweet low angst read. Kade was a a favourite of mine, so full of energy and sass, Alec was a little annoying to me with his mourning for almost 9 years!?!?! I think a little more angst between the two would have added a little more excitement to the story but overall it was well worth reading. Kenzie Alec’s daughter was a cute little matchmaker 😊

Kade is the funniest, most outrageous, straight forward, and best character in this series. He is hands down my favorite, and I liked him from the moment we met him in book one. I love that he is unapologetically himself and doesn’t let anything or anyone stand in the way of who he is and wants to be. I totally didn't understand Alec on a personal level. I mean I know he had to deal with something horrible happening, but seriously 8-9yrs later he is still not over it and still wearing his wedding ring. Ugghhhh. Alec’s daughter was a great character to include in this book too. I loved Kenzie, she was just adorable and I loved that her and Kade bonded so well and so fast “The special K’s” lol. Kade’s mom showing back up as a total psychopath added an extra spin to the story, you will literally not believe what she tries to pull on these guys. I seriously disliked everything about her and hope she crawls back under whatever rock she came from. But at the end I am glad that Alec finally figures out that Kade is what he wants and can’t live without, because that would have been a shame to let him slide through his fingers, just because he was afraid of letting someone else into his heart, I really do think they are perfect for each other.

Audio – I Loved Drew’s narration and character voices he gave in this book. Kade is such an exuberant character I really think that Drew was able to do his personality justice in this narration, I really felt like we were listening to not just a narration but the actual characters coming to life in this book. I had fun listening to this one. I am happy that the Author stuck with the same narrator for all of these books.

I’m not a fan of non-shifter mpreg or omega verse.
In the previous book of this series Kade was introduced and loved his personality. So this book became a must read.
As usual Susi comes up with a phyco female who disrupts the peace. It was a good read with a good pace. Loved the part when Kade’s water breaks!

I just haven't warmed to this series. I like Kade and Alec as a couple and their hook up at a club, pregnancy and meting later was a fun set up. I just took them forever to actually admit they were a couple, and that drove me up a wall. They were living together and loved each other but seemed clueless about what was going on with their relationship.

The alpha Hero has been pining for his dead hubby for 8 years and that pining took 70-80% of the book. He was an ass to Kade.

I am so glad that this series was recommended to me. I am loving Susi Hawke's books in general. Another to add to the "WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG TO READ THESE?!?!?" pile! This story was sweet and a little sexy, almost following the first story to a T, with a dead first husband and crazy mother-in-law. But I loved Kade in the first book and this book made me love him even more. I am going to keep reading this series and this author.

Kade was my favourite character in the first book, so jumped straight into this one. A little less fairytale and more real world, still with an evil mother. A one night stand turns complicated with a pregnant omega and a grieving alpha in love with a ghost. Still reads through as light hearted. It’s enjoyable.

Here is the thing: for me there is enough drama in having a one night stand and getting knocked up.

I like the support casting and I loved Kade and thought the alpha hero had a nice lot of growing to do. However, the villian...eck...and the outside conflicts were just extra I didn't need.

This was a cute addition to the MacIntosh Meadows series. I adored Kade in book one and was excited for him to get his HEA. He is bold and charming and a good fit for the serious Alec. Enjoyed this story!

Kade is pretty much everything. He's such a fun, sweet, awesome character. I really loved him the first time we saw him, and nothing changed in his book. I'm glad that he was able to find a family to love.

I read the first first book in this series last year and enjoyed it. Amazon recommended this book yesterday. It was so fun to catch up with MacIntosh family. I will now read the third book!

‎This wasn't what I expected.

‎I read the first book in 2021, and it has been a while and let's just say I forgot the story and the characters. Oh well, it's been the story of my life these days.

‎The characters from the previous book were mentioned and quite active in the story, but it wasn't a big deal if you couldn't remember the story or haven't read the first book.

‎Now, I don't know if my taste has changed or not, but I didn't find this as enjoyable as I expected. Granted, it did make me cry. It had its moment.

‎The main characters were not bad, but I didn't connect with them well. Alec made me a bit confused. His actions didn't match his thoughts.

‎He only mentioned his late husband when he was feeling guilty for being with another guy. He was barely mentioned at least until around 70% of the story.

‎So it was a bit unconvincing whenever Alec said that he loved Tony, and wanted to treasure his memories. And the way he reacted was a bit questionable.

‎With Kade, he was not your ordinary omega. I thanked the author for not making him weak and helpless. He was independent and strong-willed. Though, there were times when I felt like he was manipulating Alec. Or vice versa.

‎I didn't get good vibes with them. But you know who did? Kenzie. She was such a nice kid. No tantrums. No unnecessary drama. She could've made her father's life difficult, but no, she was smart and matured for her age. I liked her.

‎I don't think I'll be continuing with the series. But who knows, I might get in the mood again someday.

This was a cute story about one night stands and second chances. Kade is someone who loves who he is and makes no apologizes about that. He is happy and flamboyant and loves kids. He did not expect to find love in a bar but that is exactly what happened. Alec is a single dad who does not know when to quit working and enjoy life. The two of them are a perfect contrast to one another.

I loved their story and I am glad that Alec realized that it is okay to love again and it is okay to be happy. I think one thing that tends to occur with widows/widowers is they forget it is okay to be happy and in this book that is what we get. There were times where I just wanted Alec to stop being in his own way and just accept Kade and what he has to offer but I guess it is better late then never.

I loved all of the side characters within this story. Kenzie and all of the kids in this story were great. I loved the fact she played a role in not only the book but in the relationship between Alec and Kade. The fact Alec realized how much Kade and Kenize bonded made it that much easier for him to know Kade is the right one for him.

Drew Bacca was a great narrator. Both characters had different voices and I did not have to worry about who was talking at any given moment. With audiobooks it is hard to find a narrator who can change their voice enough so you can understand who is speaking.

3,5*

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-
Away-book like
‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd,
‘Save the at he kids' series from EM Leya,
‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or
'Liberty' from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a
WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises
(like most of Andrew Grey’s books)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few
times a year (most romances where you can
enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader,
maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-
reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but
it was ok). It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too
many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an
absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole
line, dismissed, repeat the class

Can a widowed dad find love again with a tiny dancer who doesn't want a relationship?

Welcome back to Macintosh Meadows. What a great addition to this series. All my old friends welcomed me back into their lives. I went gladly. Yes, the whole slightly crazy Macintosh clan is here; along with a new really crazy member. There are cute kids, grandmothers that are forces of nature, brothers who have each other's backs. I love this book!
Kade doesn't want a relationship. An unexpected pregnancy he can handle, just not the baggage of an alpha. When Fate drops the baby daddy in his lap while his daughter is Kade's dance student, their attraction is as intense as it is inevitable. Alec is thrilled to reunite with his tiny dancer, who he hasn't been able to forget since their night of passion. When it turns out Alec is Kade's brother Zeke's law partner & brother Dean & Laurie's lawyer, it's old home week. Add in Alec's daughter Kenzie, busted pipes, memories of a lost love and the story really gets moving.
Come. Join Kade & Alec as they stumble their way to HEA. Learn that there are no set "rules" for what an alpha or omega can or can't do. And remember... be kind to each other and dance as if no one's watching!
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.

Another smash hit

I laughed and cried throughout the story of Kade and Alec following their sweet but painful journey.
Kade the man who has sworn off relationships and only allows himself one night stands. Swears this is the life he wants and doesn't want an alpha to answer to, until the hot stuff lawyer Alec makes a surprising impression on him.
Alec a single parent after his one and only love passed away after giving birth to their daughter. Knowing he will never have another like his husband, he goes for the occasional hook up with strangers who he has no intention of seeing again. One explosive hook up with the attractive and quirky Kade has him examining his life, and meeting again throws his head into turmoil.
The characters are so well written you are drawn along their trials and tribulations feeling their pain, anguish and fear but also their joy, love and acceptance.
Kenzie is the icing on the cake, Alec's daughter who isn't afraid of pushing the two of them together and setting them straight in an adorable way.

Get It Tiny Dancer

The second installment in the series and I loved it just as much as the first. Difference here it was way more emotional and pretty heart wrenching for both characters. I love the style of writing from this author she puts the perfect mix of drama and laughter in each book.

Character breakdown;

Kade: I loved Kade in the first book I didn't think I enjoy him as much as I do now. His story was already a bit sad but learning more brought tears to my eyes. I'm thrilled he ended up getting a happily ever after.

Alec: I can never imagine what it is like to lose a spouse but I have seen what it can do to a person, especially when that spouse was your first true love. So needless to say I felt for him and understood why he acted as such. I didn't like it but I understood, he was an interesting character nonetheless.

The book will make you laugh and cry but you'll enjoy it either way. I'll find out hard to believe you'll put the book down.

Side note: wax and ice in the bedroom? Hmmm! Lol

Tiny Dancer meets Hot Stuff

Kade is an Omega who isn't looking for a permanent Alpha. He owns a dance studio and loves being single, seeking out adult fun when wanted. One night stands are all he needs alphas for.
Alec is an Alpha who isn't looking for a permanent Omega. He is a single father, an attorney, and is still mourning his deceased husband, eight years after his death. He isn't going to get into another relationship, one night stands are all he needs.
When Kade and Alec meet at a bar and experience strong chemistry together, their bathroom rendezvous leaves them with a lasting impression of one another. And a baby. But they were only a one night stand and didn't exchange info...luckily fate has a plan.

The MacIntosh Meadows series is amazing. I love these brothers and their husbands and babies. Well written stories that entertain and keep you reading... Definitely recommend book.

What began as a one-night stand just turned a whole lot of serious. Thinking it was one night of fun, Kade was eager to hook-up with Alec, he just never expected to end up pregnant. Now, with no way of getting in touch with the alpha Kade is ready to raise the child on his own. That is until Alec shows up at his dance studio with his daughter in toe. Alec lost his husband years ago and hasn't been able to move on, but Kade pushes his buttons and lights something up in him that has been missing. But is moving on a tarnish to his dead husband's memory, or is it finally time for Alec to just be happy for himself again?

This was a very cute read. Susi Hawke has great omegaverse stories especially when you wait some light and happy romantic reads. I really loved Kade, he was just so cute and endearing. I was a little put off with Alec and his devotion to his dead husband. However, I think at the end I do come around and enjoyed their HEA.

What a wonderful whimsical addition to Macintosh Meadows! Alec is a single father and Kade is a dance teacher they met at a bar and had a fast hookup that resulted in whoops. Kade didn’t think he would ever see Alec again so he decide that he was just going to have this child and raise it as a single parent until they met again! With a little push from nature and family intervention they finally get together then Kade’s mother shows up! You ask us to mention our favorite part well let me tell you when Alec’s mom decked Kade’s mom that was one of the finest points in the whole story!! Could have done a full page on it!!! What a refreshing story!!

The MacIntosh boys do know how to cut a rug!

Kade a dance teacher who thinks he doesn't need an Alpha to complete him. Alec a lawyer with a sad past and acute little daughter. The two meet, go in for a quick one night stand, and go their separate ways. Well fate just has to be pushy and decide Oh Hell No! Then the twist of events really get fun. Pregnancy, a vile crazy mother, and an Alpha and Omega who truly need love in their lives. Susi Hawks has given us another great story. With one Macintosh brother left, I can't wait to see what kind of trouble player brother Zeke falls into. Thank you Susi.

I couldn't wait for Kade's story!

I loved Kade in The Alpha's Widower and I knew that his book would be great. He's just so much fun. But he's not an airhead. He's strong and capable. I loved his interactions with Kensie and the other kids. But most of all I loved how he was with Alec. He was flirty and sexy but he was supportive and loving too. I loved their initial hookup and then the comedic aspect of their follow-up meeting. After a tough and frustrating start with Kenzie, Alex proved himself to be a wonderful Daddy and a perfect partner for Kade. I do wish he would've opened up to Kade about Tony sooner though.

I absolutely loved this book although I felt like in my option that the phrase “you know?” was used to much and personally I don’t really like that phrase cause a lot of times it was used when it was obvious that no they don’t know so it really shouldn’t have been used but I’m not letting this have any change in my rating because I still loved this book and I’m so excited for Zeke’s story and reading chapter one of his story is making it hard for me to start another book until I get to read it it was so good

Alec and Kade

I really enjoyed this addition fo the MacIntosh Meadows series. You could probably read this as a stand-alone without any issues but I will say that the first book was very enjoyable also and you’ll have a good handle on all of the characters (the MacIntosh family). Kade is a fun loving omega that never plans to settle down. Alec is a devoted alpha who lost the love of his life years earlier and is now raising his daughter alone. Their journey is full of love, some confusion and lots of chemistry! Enjoy!

Continuing family series

In this second installment we learn more about the MacIntosh parents. This couple both have issues to overcome. My favorite scene, which made me laugh out loud and nearly choke on my lunch, was the couples first dance. Kade doing the tango while in labor shows how badass be is. Then his water breaking during the leg lift was priceless. I wish I could have seen the three stooges action when they slipped in it and fell. Then when his brothers came to help and ice skated on the dance floor in amniotic fluid. Hilarious still laughing over that.

These books are just sweet. Predictable fluff, but sweet fun. A one night stand that ends in pregnancy and then the surprise second meet up that leads to true love. Alec's push-pull with Kade got old very quickly and it took Kade most of the book to admit that he wanted Alec. At least they finally got around to talking to each other very late in the book. Kenzie was adorable and her innocently pushing the relationship forward was pretty funny.

What is it about most of the mother's in this series? They are some crazy, cruel women.

Amazing add to the series. Kade and Alec are my new favorite! Kade is quite the character full of personality and courage; but deep down still struggles with insecurities. Alec is stuck; just going day by day but not living life. One night might tie them together but it takes time to break down each others walls and take a chance. Great side characters and a horrible mother pop in to town and you know things are going to get complicated. Sexy and sweet moments mix with hilarious and emotional and I couldn't put it down.
