Just wow. This new release in this series is so worth reading. Jason is in pursuit of monsters that was spawned by an evil sorcerer that Octurne had defeated a hundred years before. Getting caught in a trap Jason soon learns what it's like to be a monster. But was it an accident of getting caught by Black magic in a telepathic spell or was it a plan that leaves him reeling. Trust is all he has as he fights the evil that is trying to take over the world and now he doesn't even have that. Will he continue the fight or give up? Letting betrayal take over his life or continue to fight the evil. This series is full of excitement, twists and turns, graphic violence, monsters, paranormal creatures and magic...oh and throw in some sex into the mix and you have books that will entertain you for hours.
I like this author and I really wanted to like this book but I just couldn't. The stupidity of our slayer was just too nerve wrecking. The love interest was off putting to me, I just don't understand why authors always seem to think that every story needs a love interest, when some stories would actually be better without it. My main gripe is with the slayer, how can you slay monsters and help mankind when you are so dumb?? I kept thinking why in the world would someone recruit this dumbbell to be a slayer?? There wasn't much of a storyline but I did kind of like the twist at the end.
With Night Slayer Bill Massa has delivered a solid sequel in this series. Those who remember the Elric novels will enjoy how this series brings new life to that style of hero. The monsters are vile, the hero is flawed and the story goes on. I look forward to the next novel in this series.
Shadow Plague is an imaginative third book in the Night Slayer series by William Massa. I enjoyed the plot in this book a lot and must say the plot is rather imaginative! The author is definitely gaining momentum and with each book his plots are becoming more and more imaginative. The pace as usual is a bit on the faster side. There is constantly something happening and it feels a tad rushed.
In this third book the foe is definitely not one to laugh about and Jason has his work cut out for himself, with some serious trouble attached to it all! You are starting to wonder how far will Octurna go for the cause and what is this partnership between this two really like.
Just like the other two books this is an action packed good guy must kill bad monsters and runs into trouble along the way. In each book however the author comes up with imaginative plots which makes this series worth reading in my eyes, assuming you like this type of genre, and clearly lots of people do, I am one of them. This is an entertaining read, great for a lazy Saturday afternoon.
Saturday late night TV, easy to read and a page turner . If there was one problem with this book was that it seemed a bit short and was over before it really go going!
Jason and Octurna continue the war with shadow cabal, as they come up against a monster maker from Octurna's past. Will this be there last stand?? Good book as Jason learns how far Octurna will go to win and at what cost!!
