Beth Cosgrove keeps her private life private. Most people in the tiny community of Crystal Springs, Wisconsin know her as an accountant, dog breeder, and 4-H volunteer. Only her family is aware that her refusal to date is tied to her husband’s disappearance three years ago. Attorney Jackson Dray changed jobs and moved across the state to lend a hand at his brother’s apple orchard. While judging a 4-H dog show, he’s intrigued by one of the project leaders. Rural life is not a simple thing. Soon an ex-girlfriend, puppies, lawsuits, and Beth’s brother-in-law attempt to keep the couple apart. Will the seed of desire be allowed to flourish?
I was not able to close the book when I began to read SEED OF DESIRE. I had to know what came next. I fell asleep reading.
Ellen's characters seem very real. Her family and friends have Midwest values of loyalty and support. Even the dog's devotions are commendable. I know I've met that conniving man, Kevin.
I worried as danger increased on Beth's life. I rooted for Jackson's pursuit of her.
It will be hard to wait for the romantic trys and suspense around "tranquil" Crystal Springs.
