Endeavouring to ensure Celtic shamanism takes its place among the spiritual practices that enrich our lives, the author discusses such topics as the path of the healer, the path of the bard, the path of the spiritual warrior and the way of the mystic.
A native of the Pacific Northwest, author D.J. Conway has studied the occult fields for over 35 years. Her quest for knowledge has covered every aspect of Paganism and Wicca to New Age and Eastern philosophies; plus history, the magical arts, philosophy, customs, mythologies and folklore. In 1998, she was voted Best Wiccan and New Age author by Silver Chalice, a Pagan magazine.
She lives a rather quiet life, with most of her time spent researching and writing.
I found more material on ancient Celtic/Irish rituals and shamanic paths, along with a comprehensive understanding of the whole than in any other six books on similar subject matter that I own, combined.
The information is very succinct. I appreciate the section for pronunciation of gods and goddesses at the end. The meditations are invaluable. I believe that it is termed "advanced" because of these meditations.
I enjoy most of D.J. Conway's books, but this is my favorite so far. It is detailed and informative, and allows you to easily make your own opinion, without pushing you one way or another.
