Sophie and Ahran's story continues in this fast paced, futuristic, action romance.
After settling into a life that straddles two worlds, the problems Sophie thought were buried come back to haunt her. What begins as a run of the mill errand leads to a catalogue of disasters that has Sophie, Ahran and Toby once again running for their lives. Ahran's love has taught her so much; she's tougher, braver, more able to take what life throws at her, until a catastrophic twist makes her question everything she has learned. Suddenly, the thing she feared the most becomes the only thing that gives her hope as she tries to navigate her way through the impossible. However, it's not long before Sophie realises that saving those she loves comes at a cost.
Does she have the strength to stick to her convictions and win back what is rightfully hers? Or should she accept that in all things there must be balance, even if it means paying the ultimate price?
I read this thru KU. Throughout the series I struggled with whether I liked or hated this series. There was a lot I just adored. There a lot that felt forced, gimmicky, cliche, ridiculously preachy etc. In the end, I still don't know. But I did finally figure why.
*****possible spoilers***** The last portion of the book, as per usual, felt extremely rushed/ terse. All external forces of turmoil were resolved "off screen" or "off page" whatever you want to call it. E.g., Bazeera was the external source of conflict for at least 1 whole book and we got a half-page mention that she was finally located and another half-page that she had been arrested; followed by a final sentence or two post time-travel that Bazeera was killed. Way to deny the reader the payoff. The other sources of conflict, stemming from internal issues, were handled both poorly and greatly. 2/3 of book 2 could've been resolved by H and h just talking to each other as a romantic couple should. A few pages of that type is okay but chapters is not good. The time-travel solution to the internal suffering that colored h's life from tremendous loss had potential and was interesting at first, but quickly began to feel very gimmicky. At times, I hated the h's personality but that's probably a "me" problem. And that's the negative stuff.
The positive stuff. The author is very good at creating an interesting world. At times the author is great with interpersonal interactions and characterization. The action was always great and the romantic scenes steamy but not gross.
Hence my eternal indecision. I would prob not reread this series, so prob won't buy it. But to be fair, the author had enough going on to get me to read the whole series through, so...
Wow what can I say. If your a lover of the series already then this book just everything you did and didn't expect. If you haven't read the series then I beg you too you will not regret it. Sophie is an ordinary woman who goes through some extraordinary things. She is an amazing strong female character filled with self doubt and everything us girls can feel at some point in our lives. Amelia is amazing writer and has taken me on the most amazing journey through this series of books. I'm very excited to see what she does next.
This book has many twists and turns making you hate characters you never thought you would to then make you fall for them all over again. The only downside is that the story has finally ended. I couldn't put it down afraid to read on but knowing i had to see how it ends.. It still holds true that true love is no easy path to walk and we have to fight for what we love. Amelia will take you on a journey of loss heartache and love. You will feel every pain, feel despair and heartache. But you will also feel hope, passion and a love like no other. Ultimately this is the best series i have ever read.
I picked up the first book in the series shortly before Christmas and finished the last one two days ago. It's a long time since I devoured a series so fast! I'll admit it took me a bit to get into the characters in the first one and I was a bit nervous about where the tale was heading with the mention of other worlds and portals but I was swiftly hooked. The characters leap off the page at you from early on. I loved Ahran! If only there were more Ramians in the world! There were times when Sophie exasperated me as she can be riddled with self-doubt at times but then it struck me that I had become totally immersed in the plot! Highly recommend this whole series and wish that Ramia existed......sigh
I really didn’t want this to end. The trials and tribulations this series of books throws at you is simply unbearable at times. I just could not put the books down, I needed to know, and then you wished you’d never found out what was to come next. It’s a rollercoaster of twists. Well written and what a fantastic imagination, taking you literally into another world. Looking forward to more work from Amelia.
This type of Sy-fi story isn’t my thing but I loved these books. I love romance novels but have been getting bored, this story caught my eye, I even got kindle unlimited just to finish the series. I think anyone could get into these characters.
My favourite book of all.!!! I couldn't stop reading it,there were so many unexpected twists!Sad to see the end of the story but it concluded so well and on such a happy note!!Can't wait to read more of Amelias books in the car near future!!!
Finally the ending that I actually wanted.for this series!!! I enjoyed reading it the first time around before she added her finishing touches, but this here was perfect... Along with all the additions to the story that did nothing but make it a better read...
I absolutely loved all 4 books within this storyline. Ahran and Sophie’s lives throughout had you on the edge of your seat. Well done. Would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.
This super natural love story , you laugh and you cry , and you think it couldn’t end in a happy ending because of the ups and downs of there love story , but being a supernatural story that’s what happens and you end up smiling ......
This book was great the only reason I didn’t give it five stars was because there was a few spots in the book that just staggered it was hard for me to get past those parts. I’m a person that wants to never want to put a book down.
Wow finished the last book in this series. Author Amelia Ford has written a very entertaining series. I so enjoyed reading this mysterious, enchanting series.
I can’t remember when I felt I was in the book with the characters. Loved everything about the storyline and the author who has written this story. Just amazing.
