Best one yet, I think. While reading I got the distinct feeling this could be the story of a group playong some pidgeon RPG... very entertaining!

De duiven zijn terug! Drie nieuwe verhalen met een nieuwe vijand, een reunië, en meer. Ik heb er van genoten!

Ik was echt helemaal blij toen ik weer bij de bibliotheek (#1) langs kon na 2 maanden en wat vind ik daar? Dit boek! Ik meteen op Goodreads checken, want dit is toch echt een nieuw deel? Ja, dat is het! Ik heb echt een dansje gedaan daar. Ik vind deze serie namelijk zo leuk en zo tof dat ik steeds blij ben met een nieuw deel. Ik denk dat ik toch maar eens deze boeken ook in het Engels moet gaan kopen en ze dan ga herlezen.

In dit boek komen we een evil duif tegen die op een erg creatieve manier vliegt, een gier die gek is op botjes maar niet zo op vervloekingen, en een kindje dat erg houdt van duifjes knuffelen. De duiven hebben hun handen maar vol met alles wat er op ze afkomt. Ik vind het super dat we met elk boek een nieuwe slechterik hebben en dat die slechterik niet na de eerste keer verslagen worden weggaat maar gewoon blijft plakken. En in dit deel is er zelfs een reunië met een stel slechteriken. Oh ja!

Het begint met de gier wiens nest is gejat en of de duiven hem terug willen halen. Mission gierbed redden begint op een doldwaze manier en het werd alleen maar beter toen ze echt vol gingen voor het bed. Alles uitzochten, alles bekeken en daarna met een geweldig plan kwamen om te zorgen dat de gier zijn lekker grote (echt speciaal gemaakt zodat hij zijn vleugels kan uitklappen) nest weer terug heeft. Ik lag helemaal dubbel van het lachen om de dingen die er in dit verhaal gebeuren. De evil (want dat vind ik toch echt het beste woord voor die duif) duif is echt heerlijk evil en heeft een berg gemene plannetjes. Als dat mijn duif was had ik haar allang naar buiten gekiept of door iemand anders laten adopteren. :P

Daarna hebben we een verhaal over een klein meisje dat verdwaald is, zullen de duiven haar ouders vinden en zullen ze de boze menigten die denken dat de duiven iets niet zo aardigs van plan zijn met het meisje. Ondertussen verschijnen er ook niet zo lieve berichtjes over duiven en is er een pauw met een ego. Ik vond het kindje echt enorm schattig en hoe ze de duifjes helemaal platknuffelde was zo lief. Toen we uitvonden waar ze vandaan kwam, tja, ik kan me heel goed voorstellen dat ze zo snel mogelijk weg is gegaan. Zou ik ook doen!

En het volgende verhaal brengt ons naar een familie- en een slechterikreunië. En lekker brood, nou ja, als je de pepertjes er niet in doet. Bah. Ik vond dit echt een heel leuk verhaal vooral omdat we wat meer leren over een van onze duiven. En heb ik al gezegd brood? Brood is lekker!
De duiven hebben in dit verhaal weer genoeg te doen, en ik vond de vermomming van uil erg leuk gedaan.

Net zoals de andere boeken zijn de illustraties top. De duiven zijn leuk getekend en ik vind het leuk hoe de tekeningen echt ook onderdeel zijn van het verhaal. Een soort graphic novel, maar toch ook weer niet.

Ik kan niet wachten op het volgende verhaal. Wat zullen de duiven nu meemaken? Wie is de vijand? En ik ben vooral benieuwd naar hoe de voorspelling die we aan het einde kregen vorm zal krijgen.

En natuurlijk raad ik dit boek en de serie aan. Het is superleuk en je zult heerlijk lachen.

This one is a 2.5 for me. While I still found the five very different pigeons featured in this book to be funny and clever--and yes, they make me regard pigeons in a completely different way--the humor seemed more forced and the plots too unrealistic this time around. That said, I'm certain that the book's intended audience will be quite entertained as the birds keep fighting crime, look for a place to nest, and help a lost child return home. They must deal with quite a lot of treachery and deception, and Homey even takes a nostalgic flight back to his origins. Among much munching on bread as well as Tumbler's feats of daring and skill in mimicking a basketball, the gang triumphs in their own fashion and yes, they finally find a place to nest. The use of large typeface and large drawings with plenty of action guarantee that young fans will fly through this book with glee.

Czy wiedzieliście, że odlotowe gołębie to prawdziwe gołębie? Każdy z nich ma jakiś talent, a dzięki trzeciemu tomowi przygód można ich o wiele lepiej poznać i znowu zaskoczą nas swoją odwagą
i pomysłowością.

Wygląda na to, że gdziekolwiek znajdzie się ptasia ekipa, będzie wartka akcja pełna niespodzianek.

Trzeci tom podzielony jest na 3 części, a one - na rozdziały. Sęp potrzebuje pomocy w odszukaniu swojego gniazda, które ukradł pewien rzezimieszek, ale to wyzwanie może przerosnąć odlotowe gołębie, gdyż Maskoptak doznał kontuzji.
Odlotowe gołębie bliżej poznają też dzieci, nawet jednemu z nich potrzebna jest szczególna pomoc. Lecą gniazdolotem, przyglądają się faktom z życia Ekspresa i muszą stanąć przed Binią, niebezpieczną gołębicą oraz pomagają zakładnikom. Oj, będzie się działo!

Wydanie jest fenomenalne! Komiksowa wersja bardzo nam się spodobała, treść bardzo nas bawi, a ilustracjom również nie brakuje dobrego humoru. Ilość tekstu i wielkość czcionki idealnie sprawdzą
się wśród dzieci rozpoczynających przygodę z czytaniem.

To rewelacja! Na ostatnich stronach czytelnicy mają okazję narysować Wywrotkę i Ekspresa.

Cała seria o nietuzinkowej ptasiej paczce jest godna polecenia. Gołębie zabierają się nawet za pieczenie, a co z tego wyniknie dowiemy się w czwartym tomie, który będzie przez nas wypatrywany. Zachęcam do lektury.

Kolejne przygodowy Odlotowych gołębi to kolejny popis pomysłowości i humoru jakim cechuje się ta niezwykła drużyna. Mimo, że ich przygody są bardzo niecodzienne to z pewnością okaża się interesujące dla dzieci - w końcu kto nie chciałby zbudować gniazdolotu i pomóc dzidziobestii (mnie ta nazwa niesamowicie rozbawiła🤭)? Przy okazji można dowiedzieć sie kilku ciekowostsk o których nie wiedzieliśmy i spojrzeć przychylniejszym okiem na te ptaki.

Mimo, że każda książeczka to trzy różne misje gołębi i walka z różnymi przeszkodami to nie ma tu strasznych elementów ani niczego co mogłoby wystraszyć dzieciaki.
Rysunki są bardzo proste, wszystko w czerni i bieli i to jeszcze fajniej podkreśla całość - kolorowe elementy w tej serii nie zdałyby egzaminu.
Duży plus na końcu za króciutki kurs rysowania naszych bohaterów oraz informacje o ich faktycznym występowaniu w przyrodzie. Choć jest to komiksowa fikcja to znandziemy tu odwołanie do prawdziwych ptasich odpowiedników.

“Real Pigeons Nest Hard” is a collection of three short, illustrated stories which string together somewhat into a longer story because of call-backs. The stories feature the Real Pigeons, a gang of crime-fighting pigeons, and some cases they need to solve.

Part 1: The Nest Thief – Who has stolen a vulture’s nest?
Part 2: The Mysterious Kid X – How did a beastly child get lost in a park?
Part 3: Home Sweet Homey – Will Homey ever find his long-lost family?

This is the third book in a series but no need to have read the other two beforehand. Decent enough fun to be had here with the drawings definitely adding to it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Miss 6 continues to enjoy the format of these books with the three mysteries and a pretty reliable guess that the events of mystery #1 will have a return impact in mystery #3. This book culminates in us meeting Homey's family and seeing the return of some familiar faces.

Miss 6 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.

I realized that if I am going to meet my reading goal this year, I am going to have to start counting the books I read with my kids. My younger son is currently enamored with this series about crime-fighting pigeons. It’s kind of a natural progression for fans of the Mo Willems Pigeon series and Dog Man. (Who knew pigeons were so fun?!) In this volume, Rock confronts his prejudices against vultures, Homey looks for his family, and the villains from previous issues team up like Joker, Riddler, Catwoman & Penguin do in that 60s Batman movie.

The adventures of the Real Pigeons crime fighting, and mystery solving continues. We find our heroes looking for a stolen nest for a vulture, returning a lost child to her parents, and helping one of their own locate and rescue his family members. The team comes face to face with all of the villains from their past adventures seeking revenge in what proves to be their biggest challenge to date.

It look fun. It was funny. I do not like Kid X because there was not that much action. I liked this book. People who like birds would like this book.

This is book three in a series but can be read as a standalone. An easy read, beautifully illustrated throughout. This is a twist. We see pigeons everyday and mostly blank them. Feed them scraps or if your a child run at them. But what if these pigeons are heros? Super pigeons who do good against evil birds and villians? Parts of this had me laughing out loud myself. A funny book. One for all younger readers. Highly recommend. A well deserved four stars.
