Buddy (dog) has a key on his lease that opens a box of treasure.
Oh, my goodness he lost the key, Now what?
Buddy decided to dig a deep hole to see if he could find it.
After several diggings he found the key opened the treasure box & guess what was in it?

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written dog adventure book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great dog adventure movie, an animated cartoon, PP presentation, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

Plot Summary:
This book follows a loveable dog named Buddy on his adventure to find what is most dear to him, HIS BONES! Buddy has lost the key to open the treasure chest of all his favorite things. Early readers can go on an adventure with him as he sniffs, digs, and discovers throughout the book.

Personal response:
This is a perfect read for little ones who are just starting to pick up books. It uses simple language and repetition to enhance the audience’s experience. It is the perfect opportunity to teach young children about perseverance and never giving up.
One of my favorite aspects of this book was the conversation starters in the back of the book. This allows parents or teachers to engage in discussions about applying the story to real-life situations. I strongly believe that this book opens an opportunity for children to grow a strong relationship with reading and also bond with their parents or teachers in learning and discussion.

So, this book is just cute.

Yes, I'm a dog lover and that really helps, but still. This is so cute.

A dog and his treasure is a classic story. There's a ton of digging, a missing key, and bones along the way.

The illustration is simple, bright, and whimsical.

My young clients have enjoyed the story and so have I; several times.

Highly recommended as a cute picture book, bedtime or storytime story.

Easy Read

This colorful children’s book has a fun message. It features a determined dog trying to find his key that he lost after a fun time playing outside. Though not a lot of words, it does convey the import of the images that accompanies each word. The illustrations are colorful and matches the story beautifully. Definitely an enjoyable read.

Fun

I like how the book is narrated with how a dog might think- it reminds me of the dog from "Up". I would totally read this book in a funny voice to my daughters and I know they would get a kick out of it.

This is a fun and cute story about a dog with a really good sniffer. Do you have a good sniffer? Jolie Canoli used humor to get young readers to read/listen to this humorous story.
Buddy is a good dog and on his neck has a key. It unlocks a treasure chest of good stuff. Buddy starts digging. He digs everywhere. Does he find the key? Will he get the treasure? Reading is the best way to find answers and treasure chests.
I found this book on a website for free for an honest review

Bones is an adorable dachshund who wears a key around his neck. He vows not to lose it because it is the key to his treasure chest. Of course, Bones loses his key and must search frantically for it. He digs under the earth, swims under the sea, and travels to outer space. Will he find his lost key? What treasure lies inside the mysterious chest?
I particularly enjoyed the illustrations which appear animated. The text is simple and repetitive, as is appropriate for a Level 1 beginning reader. The teaching tips enhance comprehension and can be used by parents, teachers or librarians. Recommended for children of any age who are just beginning to read.
