I think her story is amazing! Her writing is just ok..she jumps around a little and is repetitive for such a short book. Her advice is also a little one dimensional...I have done what she did and didn't get the same results. Cut all animal products, cut all processed foods, cut stress and eat 4 cups raw greens, 4 cup veggies. Her story is so great, I will do it again, but sadly for autoimmune I don't think there is a one size fits all solution.

The book contains the journey of the author with the disease and various anecdotes of her life, if you are here for something other than inspiration, like science and new information , you will not find it. The information provided could be easily accessed in an online article, possibly with superior research and referencing.

Advice Helps Manage Lupus and eliminates inflammation

...if followed. There's the catch. HOWEVER, this is one of -- if not THE best books -- I've read on not only how to manage lupus, but how to eliminate it altogether. One thing I found out the hard way (since there had never, historically, been either an approved food list or an 'AVOID' food list) is that if you have lupus, you don't want to go on the KETO diet, since those with lupus are supposed to avoid meat, cheese/dairy and eggs. That may have been why my ANA panel was positive the 6th time after being negative the last two tests. But now, thanks to Dr. Goldner I know how to get better. In fact, I've already started!

Testimony time!!! I purchased GOODBYE LUPUS and watched some videos and got right on it. I have been doing the healing protocol for 6 weeks and SED rate is 17 and goodbye anemia. That’s huge for me because I my SED rate had not been normal for over 9 years and have been unable to donate blood for 2 years because I was severely anemic. I am able to jog and walk with no pain. Almost forgot to mention I also shed 12 pounds! I thank the Lord for coming across this book and Dr. G’s Facebook posts. I feel so much better! Looking forward to completely healing from Sjogrens, RA, vasculitis and other issues😉Thank you Dr. G!!!

When choosing a book on autoimmune protocols, there are things I hope we look for: a willingness to understand that the human body maybe call thus, but we are all bio UNidentcal based on our chemistries, familial history and conditions based on our genes; we are not identical. The big supposition is that we are all the same so therefore our dietary needs should reflect that understanding. If this is true, why do we have no primary studies that show this? And if this is true than our medicine would be a "one size fits all" when it comes to all health conditions and variations, and this isn't the case. She wrote a book claiming to cure: MS, Fibromyalgia, Lupus (of course) all lumped all autoimmune conditions identically. I would love a book that looks solves chronic pain and heals all our ills, this just doesn't add up.

Having heard about the author and her miraculous recovery from a supposedly incurable disease, Lupus and other related conditions, I wanted to check out her book. This was a very quick read with lots of information on healing and giving hope to those who are willing to take the necessary steps to heal themselves through hyper-nutrition. Having already adopted a whole food, plant based diet, and eliminating processed foods and added oils, I quickly confirmed that I can easily adopt the additional steps to heal my own (different) lupus condition. I would say this is a very important book with information that, although not new or unfamiliar to me, will be a startling revelation to many who have no idea how critically important diet is in maintaining and regaining our health.

Super informative, though I still want to do some research to verify what I read. But this book talks a lot about plants and how they interact with our bodies. It also talks about animal products and processed foods and what causes inflammation and what can help combat it. For sure worth the read. I’ve never related to someone else with lupus this much.
My lungs hemorrhaged 5 times and I had to do chemo (Cytoxan as well) but I only had to do 8 months.. I was on high dose steroids(80mg for 4 months and then struggled to taper off- it took me 16 months 😳 and two years after my diagnosis I threw a clot to my brain and had a massive stroke. It’s so comforting to read a similar story with the results I crave!

I’ve been encouraged to try a totally plant based diet by two plant based loving friends. They claim it has worked miracles. This book was informative (although the poor editing bugged me). It seems so time-consuming & difficult to eat this way. Guess I am old school and believe a properly balanced diet, with lots of fresh fruits & veggies; very little sugar if any & elimination of most refined foods should be healthy. I was actually more open minded until I read the recipes at the end. Too much of a change & preparation etc way too time-consuming!

This is definitely more of an autobiography with some recipes but it is very inspiring and motivating. Having just being diagnosed with Lupus I feel that this book is a good stepping stone to starting the journey and getting in the right mind frame to implement the right steps. I have used some of the recipes and will continue to reread the book when I need any added motivation as to "Why" I am doing this.

Mostly rating this based on having listened to her give a speech on YouTube that was more or less verbatim what was in this book. Not sure it was worth reading, as it provided no new information and was written in an annoyingly self-centered way. I think the idea/advice is compelling, but I thought to publish a book, you'd actually put new information out there or more detailed information at the least.

Excellent information

Fast read. Love it when doctors lead you back to your own self healing systems and provide strategies that will help cleanse the body and trigger the healing power within us when we choose a lifestyle that works in harmony with cellular reproduction. A copy should be in everyone’s library! What a positive role model the author and her husband are.

She explains how she reversed her lupus. Don't eat animal products, oil, or processed foods. Eat a lot of raw veggies, chia or flax seeds, and water.

I give it 5 stars because I like the content so much. (However, it's short and self published.) She says pretty much exactly the same thing in every interview of her I've ever seen.

This is informative and easy to apply in real life.

It’s an informative and easy to comprehend book.
I do believe that food is a source of our health. You are what you eat and since I applied her protocol to my diet, health has changed for the better.

A lot of great information

She pretty much tells you what you need to do. I am not sure why there are so many reviews saying this is just promoting her program. The book is very informative.

I purchased this book as I cannot afford the $5K to work with Dr. Goldner one-on-one. While I found her story inspiring, the writing was very basic. If you're looking for details further than what she provides online, you will not find them here. Basic premise: go vegan and oil-free. If you can't do it all at once, ease into it. I've read many other books with this advice that provided more science-based evidence for the suggestion, but this one lacked those details. She includes a few smoothie 'recipes' that are nothing new or cannot be found on blogs all over the internet and quite a few photos of herself as a child, which felt like page fillers. Overall, her story is promising, but I'd have appreciated more science-based evidence and case studies other than her own.

Thank you and Small World

I recently became vegan at the recommendation of my opthalmologist.

I also was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease a few years ago. So much of what you described with my early diet and life style (stress etc) resonated with me.

I'm so glad to read your book, I read it in one night. Lots of great advice here and honestly a beautiful human perspective to know what can be done.

Please say hello to Tom for me, back in Pittsburgh in the early 2000s Tom was my personal trainer along with a friend. So glad to see you all doing so well. Thank you for this full circle help. Appreciate you both.

If this worked, every rheumatologist would prescribe this diet to their patients with lupus. If this worked, this would be headline news because lupus is a frightening disease. I'm sure that if you've been eating food that makes you feel unwell you would feel better eating some of the stuff that Goldner recommends, but this will not reverse kidney damage from lupus nor will it cure you.

It hurts me to see people making money off of folks who are ill. Dr. Goldner is a psychiatrist, not a rheumatologist, and green smoothies won't cure lupus.

Lots of Love and good food.

Dr. Goldner’s Goodbye Lupus has been life-changing for me, both physically and mentally. The book offers a powerful approach to healing, and I've seen incredible improvements in my health. One of the biggest takeaways for me was learning not to fear healthy fats like avocado, chia seeds, and flax, which are essential to the healing process. Dr. Goldner's guidance is clear, practical, and rooted in her personal experience, making it easy to follow. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for hope and a holistic way to reclaim their health!

The book itself is pretty simple. It tells you about her journey for half the book. I did find it interesting, how many things we had in common. All my issues with migraines and joints at a young age.

Her plan is interesting. It’s worth a try to feel better and maybe heal like she did. Hyper nurturing is a simple concept. Over eat RaW veggies and fruits, no processed foods, meat, fish, dairy, caffeine and alcohol. She expects you to drink a ridiculous amount of water.
