“But you haven’t taken brain damage. I don’t want to have to take the time to get to know you again. The first time was exhausting enough...”

Brownstone accepts a simple job and pisses off the most dangerous criminal in LA.

Shay is approached by a powerful billionaire, one who knows her past.

Now, Brownstone is ready to provide a beat down, but Shay is asking him for help. Does he stay in LA or fly (something he doesn't like to do) to Cambodia?

On top of all of these issues, he needs to find something EPIC for Shay. Can he do it? What favors will he have to call in?

At his weakest, he finds out the truth and his memories allow him to meet his mom and dad.

Brownstone can handle the truth. Can you?

NOTE: This book contains cursing. Perhaps humorous cursing, but cursing nonetheless. If this offends you, I don't suggest reading this book.

A typical ‘Brownstone’ story, a simple but fun read. However I wasn’t sure about the main part of this story, which relies on Shay having the instincts of a ‘dead frog’. Given what had happened in the last couple of books it should have been impossible for her not to realise who might have hired her to recover the lance.

4 That Is A Mother's Strength Stars

One Epic Ring is the fourteenth book in The Unbelievable Mr. Brownstone series by Michael Anderle.

While I appreciate Anderle finally spilling the beans, with the information of how he ended up on Earth in the first place. I doubt we will get any more information out of the amulet. It basically admitted most other memories were destroyed when it reconfigured his DNA so he could fit in among humans.

I'm more concerned about the Alliance, and their possible reaction once they check in on Aiyn. She's apparently going to use the nanites to alter herself, and become a better weapon against Brownstone. So it's a logical leap to assume we'll hear from her superiors once she's failed and died. She seems a little to revenge focused to actually listen to Brownstone when he explains he cares very little for the amulet and Vax's purpose.

Also, what was that weird being made of light that sent him to Earth from Oriceran? The closest creature I can imagine is possibly a Jasper Elf that's become one with the light. But all evidence around them points to that not being possible, and I've never read anything about them having wings? I'm simply fascinated that there may be another cool new creature later.

With all of the noise Aiyn is making trying to destroy Brownstone, and everything she's likely to do in the future it seems an eventuality that the government will become a problem. I wonder how Shay and James will face them when they come knocking? And if the government will be stupid enough to try attacking?

I wish we knew more about Miss Endo. She's so interesting. I think a spin-off about her would worth the effort. On a similar note, it was enjoyable to get to know Kathy's character more and see both what she was capable of, and where she came from.

Michael did it again!

It's silly o'clock in the morning, and I just couldn't put this book down, until I finally reached the end.

There's just so much going on in the book, and it answered quite a few of the questions that I've asked myself every time I finished yet another story in the series!

I really love James, Shay, and Alison, but there's something special about James, that just appeals to me.

I think it's probably his innocence because, even though he's a totally bad-ass Bounty Hunter, he still has the simplicity of the innocent.

He was certainly put through his paces here, though, but I love that he still looks at the world with a sense of simplicity - even though everything about him, is anything but!

Fortunately for me, my reading list tells me that I can go straight onto the next book in this series, which is book number fifteen: 'Spontaneous Justice'.

I'm REALLY eager to start this next book but, as usual, I'm squinting again, as my eyes are so tired, so I'll have to leave the book until I've at least had a few hours of sleep!

I had to get a new phone, so spent half of the day setting it up - which meant my reading slowed down terribly today, so I'm hoping to catch up once I've had some sleep, and rested my tired eyes.

So, once I HAVE slept, I'll start reading James' continued adventures, and I'll catch you on the flip side, once it's done, to let you know what I think of it!

I want more!

I have read all KGU books and am quickly running out of Oriceran Universe books. Please keep them coming! I love the message both series bring, namely family is not rooted only in blood kingship but also in love and friendship. We can't choose the family we are born into but quite often the relationship with cultivate with those around us create bonds that are stronger than blood. I believe the stories that you write, along with all the other authors that populate both universes make us try to be the best self we can imagine. You have inspired me and given me hope through some of the darkest days. Thanks you and when is the next book releasing?

Epic sounds about right. While epic rings might bring thoughts of more classic styles of fantasy, don’t be fooled. This book is Brownstone all the way. The action and the writing continue to impress. There are even some loose ends that get tied up here.

Definitely can’t complain about the quality of the villains in this one. While the latest and so far greatest foe is still working in the background, other enemies (both past and present) are on the field as well. Glad to see one in particular finally show back up and be dealt with.

Overall, an excellent addition to the Brownstone series with plenty of action and even some intrigue. This book is sure to not disappoint.

Much better than Vax Humana, I recall saying at the end of that review that I'd hope to be enjoying the next book. Well, I found it less tedious and I read it quicker than Vax Humana.
The title originally made me groan because I thought about Lord of the Rings, the reason for the title is actually normal, relating to a proposal. It's a simple and fun read. However, I was annoyed by how Shay was portrayed, she was dumbed down. If anything, she should have been suspicious due to occurrences in previous books.

The Big Unveil

Shay is running Brownstone through the wringer in his attempt to propose to her in an epic style. Fortunately there are beat downs to take his mind off the complexity of figuring out what women want. He may have figured part of it out, but he has more hoops to go. In his battles, he finds out what he is and how he came to be. I like the action, snarky humor, and romance. I look forward to the next book.

Another great book in the series, I'm truly hooked on it. Amazing how fast a burn through the books though. Started Saturday night and I didn't want to get out of bed until I finished the book around 11 Sunday morning. The book just pulls you through and every time I put it down I picked it right back up again because I wanted to see what happened next. Damn now I have to wait till the next one in the series...

Ring, check. Epic, check. But...

As fans have come to expect from the unbelievable Mr. Brownstone there is plenty of action, thrills and grunts in this one. The best parts, imo, involve James and Shay first doing what they do best and then talking it out. Some of James’ mysteries are revealed but still no proposal! The buildup to this event is crazy, can’t wait to see what the author comes up with.

memories

James has remembered something from his childhood, from before he was shoved through a portal to earth. He was able to find the ring he is going to propose with, with help from The professor. The shepherd's plan to obtain the weapon that would hurt James is thwarted. Someone shoots at James's truck and a whole lot of people die. Him and Shay go on a trip For a tomb raid to Cambodia. Much warmer climate than last trek. On to the next book.

"One Epic Ring" is "One Epic Story!" Great to learn more about James' backstory.

Interesting story and plot, especially the part about James' parents, what alien race he is, and how he ended up on Earth. I enjoyed all this great backstory information and the showdown with another super badguy. If you like James Brownstone, you MUST read this story. You WILL be glad you did! :)

One Epic Ring

Brownstone and Shay take a tomb raider job for a mysterious billionaire philanthropist and encounter Shay's old enemy who has powerful alien weapons. The spooky Eyes attacks not only Brownstone but his beloved TRUCK! But wait ... there's more. You will have to read the book to get to the really good stuff.

Another incredibly entertaining brownstone story

A really fun series to read to date has not been short-changed by this one. Gripping from start to finish.

The only hiccup to me is where the timeline in shay & brownstone's story is a couple of years out of synk with the tales of Alison, their 'daughter'.

Man versus woman........women win

Ha my wife told me the day we were getting married on and all I had to do was turn up. I think she didn't trust me to mess up her day lol
So trying to understand women is definitely harder than if looks even if you are an ass kicking legend.
I look forward to more from this series.😊

So good!

There is a huge problem. Someone messed up Brownstone's truck and that someone has to pay! While avenging his truck, James finds out so important information, most importantly, why an alien is determined to kill him. Plus he has another epic task to complete. James is a busy man!

I enjoyed the hell out of this series. Normally I wont go back and add a review on Goodreads for a book I read before reviewing here. This one is an exception. This character progressed from a 2D action hero to this in the course of many books. It was joy to read and the finale is something else entirely.

Epic!

How to sum up James Brownstone in one word? Epic is it! We see James and Shay at their best, unravelling a little more of James’ history: what a surprise!

Another awesome Brownstone instalment, and I can’t wait for the next one. Hmmm... I sound like a junkie wanting their next hit!

Interesting as usual -- there are always new characters and events that have to be taken care of by the main characters -- as well as their own interactions -- so each has it place in the long story that Mr. Anderle has set out. Good late night reading or long trip accompaniment.

James and Shay go tomb raiding together while keeping an eye out for the alien hunting him. Combine that with James needing to come up with an epic ring and proposal leads to plenty more action and laugh out loud humor

It was an exciting read and added interesting new information in the series. I am doling out the books to myself at decelerated rate so I cans spend more time enjoying the stories. I have also taken to starting to read the Alison Brownstone series as a filler, and find it just as much fun.
