Hana is pressed into a marriage meeting with Takane, a scion of a business empire, impersonating her sister to save her father's job! Ready to put that fiasco behind her Hana is shocked that Takane actually seems interested in her! She is exasperated by his immaturity but intrigued despite herself at the fun she has as they try to outwit one another...
The Premise
In Takane & Hana vol 11 we get an honest to goodness villain for Takane and Hana to battle it out with... and what a funny and shin cracking battle it turns out to be!! We left off with Takane kissing Hana's... nose!! They both remember and it creates quite unexpected reactions that make you wonder if they can ever come back from them. We also get a peek at grandpa getting downright pushy with Takane and I can't help wanting to see the old man get "involved" again...
The Buzz
For the first time we really see Hana's age as she's manipulated by another adult who wants to get at Takane. We've seen glimpses of this side of herself but she's normally so confident that it's just a peek. And we see some serious moments of kidnapping and rape too. I love how Takane & Hana vol 11 handles these though... it's surprising, touching and of course, rolling on the ground funny!! We also get some page time with Hana's big sister and I loved getting a glimpse at how different these two sisters are, it was sweet and fun.
The Feels
We also see a serious side of Takane in Takane & Hana vol 11... he feels really guilty about a moment with Hana and it may ruin things with her... It really hits home how much he loves to verbally spar and banter with Hana. It stirs his blood and makes him happy. To see him deny this joy with her makes you heart sick for both of them... Thank goodness for villains!! And boy does Takane make your heart melt when he seeks "redemption," even as you want to roll around laughing your fool head off.
The Visuals
Oh my Takane & Hana vol 11!!! Takane hangs from... well I better not say, but it was magnificent!! He drops onto his... well you get the picture. It's funny and sweet and quite serious too. After how soul crush Takane was to Hana earlier this really makes up for it. The visuals all the way through really took my breathe away. Hana's face, Takane's reactions, the thugs and villain!! GAHHH it totally makes the volume!!
Takane & Hana vol 11 heats things up for Takane and Hana right when their relationship goes off the rails... Will Takane get there in time to save Hana?! Will Takane's spot as heir be blown out of the water due to the villain's demands?! It's a harrowing adventure but it will melt your heart and make you come back for more!!

Thanks to Edelweiss and the publisher for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review. It has not influenced my opinions.

Poor Takane, but still you should be overridden with guilt. That is considered harassment in most cultures. At least it caused a step forward in the plot. It was somewhat becoming stagnant with the same old trick happening for 10+ volumes.
This is probably my favorite volume so far! We get some action in this one! And I feel like our story is starting to pick up the pace as far as the characters and their feelings!!
I won't do a whole review for the book. If you're this far into the series, you're probably committed. I know I am. I love this series, but I wanted to touch on what happened in this book.
There is a section in the middle to end of the story where Hana is repeatedly assaulted by men. It never once comes out and says that they want to rape her, but it's heavily implied. One character also mentions that they're "not that bad" because they didn't take her clothes off.
While this is all very quickly turned into a comedy with the men making grabby hands at Hana and her beating them away or running from them, I think this whole thing was handled pretty badly. It definitely felt like it was making fun of sexual assault/rape, and I know people who would probably have some bad memories get stirred up if they read this because they have been hurt that way.
So, this is just as a warning for those of you going into this, because I had no clue this would happen in the story, and while it didn't bother me, it didn't fully sit well with me either.
I went from "TAKANE, YOU FOOL!" to "TAKANE WHERE ARE YOU?! *panics*" to a bunch of other mixed emotions that had me going all over the place! Truly, I feel this is getting into the heart of shojo manga!
Not sure what else to say except this was another really good volume even though I definitely got mad at Takane even if I could understand his reasonings why. (His cousin is beyond shady…)
This series usually is pretty funny and enjoyable enough that I'm willing to suspend my disbelief about an older twenty-something falling for a high schooler. But in this volume? I couldn't suspend my disbelief because it spilled out every time I turned the page of this volume. Besides the fact that I'm getting tired of Takane and Hana dancing around each other and neither one willing to admit their feelings, I'm absolutely appalled (trigger warning—) about how the story used the gross plot device of potential sexual assault against a female, and a minor at that. Yes (spoiler alert), Hana is kidnapped by Takane's messed up cousin but then the story dangles this threat of Hana being sexually assaulted by multiple men and Hana isn't even phased by it? I call bullshit. >:(
Why did the story need to include that particular plot device? Has it ever yielded any benefits for the readers and the characters involved? (THE ANSWER IS NOPE.)
I'm still going to keep reading the series to see if it addresses/improves but this is the first volume in the series where I've given such a low rating.
I devoured the series over the course of a couple of months. Took a little longer than I hoped because a few of them decided to take forever from Amazon. Hana ends up roped into taking her older sisters place in a marriage match never expecting that anything would come from it. Instead a we get a very sweet comical whirlwind romance between her and Takane.
I ended up reading the first one and instantly ordering the rest of them it's such a cute series kind of a enemies to lover romance between them. I loved Hana she's an adorable character and I think because of her I'm going to do bubblegum pink hair next. Each manga has the pair growing as characters. Takane had a lot of growing to do but he get's there eventually.
The artwork is as equally lovely as the story. I was captivated right from the start and fell in love with Hana and Takane's story. This is one of my favorite series that I'm so glad I purchased the set. They will always have a special place on my bookshelf and I know they will get some re-reads as I wasn't ready to say goodbye just yet. I plan to read the authors other manga as I loved this one so much. Highly recommend a perfect sweet romance.
I am still so in love with this series. Takane's cousin comes to Japan to stir up trouble and wonders who his arranged marriage partner is.
Meanwhile, after the drunken kiss on Hana's forehead, she wonders what it means. Takane pretens he doesn't care about her, so that his cousin wont become suspicious. Not knowing who he is to Takane, she talks about her sisters partner, the way she talks about him, the cousin realizes the marriage partner is her.
His cousin wants to make Takane miserable, but nothing he does fazes him. But discovers that when he threatens Hana, Takane reacts.
I really enjoyed this volume and look foward to see what happens next. Surely at some point, the Grandfather will find out what he is really going on.
LOL what the H*CK was this volume? It was kind of scary and stressful for a second and then it was so ridiculously funny. I'm cryinggg. I wish that one guy would've gotten his teeth kicked in, but I guess Hana pepper spraying him was good enough for me. I did not expect this series to take such an intense turn. wow. I've been reading more intense manga so when she got kidnapped, I was just thinking 'okay, this is the perfect time to stab him and run!' But then I remembered this isn't that kind of manga.
This is the first time that I've given a volume in this series less than 4 stars. I didn't like the introduction of Takane's cousin as a new character. And the ending of this volume felt very lackluster.
As the series has gone on, the age difference becomes increasingly creepy to me. Also, I increasingly do not care about Takane and all of his colleagues. I am going to read what I own and cut my losses. I just cannot deal with this any longer.
not my favourite volume as a whole, but it had its moments (namely "i wanted to touch you, so i did" and takane descending in a helicopter to save hana)

I think half the reason I still read this series is because I’m genuinely curious how it’ll end. There’s definitely a sense of ‘having your cake and eating it too’ with regards to the characters’ age difference.
It spends most of its time on the romance and then has the spectre of the increasingly awkward age gap come up. It’s bizarre.
This took two totally unexpected turns. Wow. I’m glad that they are beginning to communicate though. Not as good as the last but has some crazy epic scenes!!
The author’s note; This “things falling from the sky” series is alive and well. • yesssssss. If/once you read it you’ll understand what they’re talking about.
This was quite the volume. I might call it the most dramatic to date (which is saying something for this series). There's heartbreak, sketchy family members, kidnapping, rescue, and some tropes that I didn't love, such as attempted sexual assault. On the sketchy family member, On the heartbreak, So yeah. All in all, quite the volume. I didn't love it as much as others in the series, to be honest. I'll definitely keep reading though! There's only 7 volumes left. 3.5 stars.
This mangaka just keeps surprising me! I don't mind the outlandish things that happen in this series because it already started out kinda over the top with an outdated miai meeting and such an aggressive pair of personalities. I honestly went back and forth with Hana as a character, saying "What do you mean??? STOP RUNNING AWAY YOU BABY!" and then remembering she IS only 16. I can remember being emotionally compromised and confused in a relationship similar to this. Though I find it contradictory that she "wants to fill his head of Hana" but then when he starts showing feelings, she doesn't want it?? Make up your mind!
But I still cannot figure out if I like Takane or not. He's such a d-bag but then has genuine emotions...no wonder Hana can't figure out what she wants!
