I'm not one to write reviews but in this case I feel I have to justify the low rating. While the premise of this series is great, I have found it increasingly frustrated with the typo's and obviously un-proofed work. In this book, an estate in Sweden is referenced as being in the Alps, a man who just lit a cigarette in the next paragraph says to his boss he quit 20 years prior and constant incorrect pronoun usage (female character his, male character her) are just a few examples.
I had hoped it got better in the next book, but already by the fourth or fifth chapter typo's are appearing and the author has lost track of which of the characters has a certain stone. In one chapter the villain has it, and then in the next chapter, Alex is using it. While I really wanted to continue the series, I'm giving up due to all of the errors.
If these errors were fixed I would come back. While I understand independent authors don't have a staff behind them to proofread their work, I'm surprised that the amount of inaccuracies, typos and plot errors would not have been pointed out by anyone the author might have had read them prior to release.
First- excellent story. Second who ever did the proof-reading needs to be fired. The parts that focused to the couple from Germany didn't notice the use of masculine pronouns for the wife and feminine ones for the husband. Not just once but several times though out their storyline. Aggravating. Hopefully the next book will have fewer grammatical errors.
The number of stones held by the villain increases, as well as the stones held by the good guys. Each encounter is more intense than the last as Kline seeks to get all twelve stones to secure complete power over humanity. I couldn't put this ebook down & just HAD to finish it as I read about the struggles of the characters. The only distractions were the number of proofreading errors I found and corrected in notes.
I've never read a book with so many twists in it. I'm exhausted! Out of the frying pan and into the fire, breath, repeat. Can't wait to start the next book to see how things turn out.
