Bestselling author Eric Warren has loved stories all his life. And despite writing from a young age, it took him a few years to realize being an author was what he wanted to do for a living. Today, he is the author of over twenty novels, including the highly successful INFINITY'S END series. Never one to shy away from what he loves, he plans to continue writing for another century, depending on the viability of life-extending technology.
What a terrifying beginning! A wonderful, unexpected plot! The prose is excellent, the writing fluid. The “characters” are sweet and real. A great prequel wanting for more. Going onto Singular, Book 1.
This prequel is a fascinating introduction to the YA Quantum Gate series. Arista is a young girl who wakes up in a field without any memory of her life or how she got there. A kind man finds her and takes her home to his wife, but both adults have a bizarre reaction to the child and as the story unfolds, we come to learn that they are robotic replications of humans in a world where artificial intelligence has eradicated their creators.
The three characters were quite likable and I found it curious that Arista was able to mentally tap into banks of knowledge, making me curious to find out her background and underlying story. If you enjoy post-apocalyptic stories of AI vs. human, then this series may be an excellent find.
This is an enthralling, quick introduction to Eric Warren's Quantum Gate series. The simple farming lives of Emily and Carver are forever altered when a mysterious little girl appears on their farm; with no idea of how she got there or who she is. They name her Arista and discover a shocking fact about her: she a human and not a robot like them. How is it possible for Arista to exist when the human race had been ruthlessly eradicated seventy-five years before once artificial intelligence had become sentient. They thought that Arista could be kept safe if not seen by any other robot... only their lives are about to be deeply changed when their secret gets out. Emily and Carver will do whatever takes to protect Arista from the Cadre- no matter what the cost. Highly recommended.
recommend this book to ALL human Females that are science fiction geeks(like myself!) and enjoy machines uprising and Apocalypse with a human heroine woman that is the last of her kind and just like the Last Unicorn novel, she is the only hope to resurrect humanity or help the hiding human survivors to fight the misanthrope machines back and win against them this time!
