Armed with her Bachelors of English, Literature from Montclair State University and a pen name, Katherine Rhodes has set her mind to writing adult romances which are kinky, dirty, and fun. A lackadaisical laundry goddess, expert in the profundities of bad movies, terrible music, and awful literature, she resides in Philadelphia with her husband and two cats.
It’s definitely an instant romance but not one of those where the heroine completely loses her will and not wonder what is going on. It’s fast paced and the heat shows up real quick and very often.
5 out of 5 starsPerfect romantic and sexy read with adventures

Brandy and all he friends Jessica, Addison, Madeline and Suzanne came to Alaska to celebrate an after college vacation. Brandy bought a cabin from her cousin Harrison and it's supposed to be in good shape, but the minute they drive through the bushes and see if Brandy starts cussing out her cousin as she will kill him the next time she sees him. The place was falling apart on yeah it has good bones, but nothing else. Jess (Jessica) calls for the electrician to give the an estimated cost for repair. He is coming the next day. During the night they heard scratching at the door and yipes like coyotes all around the house. So they are going to buy a gun tomorrow. So the next morning the girls go into town to buy what they need and Jess will wait for the electrician. Boy was he a hunk!!! Garrett Pauper who owns Timberwolf Electrical came in and Jess could only stare. Garrett went over the who house and came back with a huge list and recommendations, but the minute they stared at each other they were in each other's arms kissing. Then clothes came of and sex was fast and hard and neither could get enough of one another. Garrett and his wolf knows she is their mate. So later when the girls came back they discussed what they were going to do. Delia (Madeline) offers no states that she will pay for it all as a house warming present. Later that night the coyote come back again and Jess calls Garrett for help. After awhile they start heading wolves who chase off the coyote. Garrett and his brother Patrick came to the door to wake the girls for their safety to move down the road to Garrett's estate. They divided everyone up and everyone finally got a good sleep. This story really pickups with the aggression of those exiled coyotes and all the several of Garrett wolf in his pack finding mates with these girls. These other girls stories in the author's next book. Lots of action and adventures still coming further I this story. Her happy ending for Garrett and Jess as well as Addi (Addison) is with Patrick and Delia is with Jackson. It also looks like Brandy and Zanna(Suzanne) So very happy ending so far. Oh yes steamy lovemaking scenes through out this romantic and sexy read. A! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
First book I read by the author. I loved it and I recommend it.
Jess accepted her friends' suggestion to spend the summer in Alaska. She needed time and space to heal after losing her baby, and also because her ex, who tricked her into becoming pregnant, abandoned her as soon as she lost the child. She didn't expect to find someone to make her feel good, and that's what happened. Garrett made her feel loved like no one else had made it before. But he had a secret.
As soon as he saw her, Garrett knew that Jess was his mate. But he didn't want to rush her. He wanted to go slowly. And he knew he had to tell her the truth. He couldn't hide from her that he's a wolf shifter. He had to be sincere and wait for her to accept him as he is before she decided to stay with him, where she belonged.
I loved the story, and the romance between Garrett and Jess. It started out too sexual for my taste, but I loved it.
I love Jess. She wanted to spend a quiet summer, away from everything, from pain, worries, fear of the future. She needed calm, she needed healing. She didn't need Garrett, or so she thought when she met him. She didn't want to be with anyone. Then she just wanted a summer fling, and nothing more. And then she couldn't be without him.
She's suffered a lot more than anyone deserves. That made her strong.
I also love Garrett. I love how he cares about Jess, how he asks her if she's sure, if she wants to be with him. He has no doubts, he has found his mate, but he doesn't want to rush. He wants her to feel the same way he does. And it breaks his heart when she doesn't. Not only his heart, but mine too. It hurts that she doesn't see a future in their relationship, that she doesn't even try. But he will never force her into anything. He will accept whatever she decides. But he can try to change her mind, though.
There is one small detail that I didn't like. Initially, he asks Jess for sincerity, but he is lying to her. But he feels bad about doing it, about not telling her the truth, so that counts in his favor. And I understand that he can't tell her right away, because he doesn't want to lose her.
I love his family. I would have liked to have met Darius, and to know more about Fergus and Jason.
I also love Jess' friends, and it bothers me a bit that what was going to be a vacation all of them together, is not that, but that they end up separated.
I loved the story of the shifters.

I downloaded this during a SYKD just before my trip, because it only felt appropriate to read a shifter book set in Alaska while I was traveling in Alaska. Jess and Garrett meet when he comes to fix some electrical issues with the cabin Jess and her friends are meant to spent the summer in, but everything changes for all of them after Garrett and his friends and family enter their lives.
I enjoyed how easily the lore was included within the story. While Garrett is a wolf shifter, that isn’t the only kind of shifter in this universe, and the information about the magic of it all was spread throughout the story really well. I particularly loved how, during the third act conflict, it became clear all the friend group knew about the shifters and didn’t realize that the others knew. I can’t wait to keep reading and see the summer from other perspectives.
I hope to see more about the changes coming to the magic, what happens to the exiles, and how it all plays a part in the shifter dynamics in the region. I also hope that something bad happens to Bart, and I will not give context as to why. You’ll know when you read it that he is an antagonist in his own right.
This is a really fun book to read! For me, it had a little bit of everything in it... Alaska, shifters, romance, intrigue, friendship, and laughter.❤️️😍
Jess went up to Alaska with her four friends to reconnect, have a fun summer, and get over a really bad relationship. What they find is so much more than any of them planned for. Garrett, a wolf shifter, tired of being alone is amazed when he gets called out to an electrical job and meets his much-anticipated mate. But when the local coyote pack tries to force the women out of their home, Garrett and his pack are forced to step in and protect the ladies... without alerting them to their other sides. Easy, peasy... right?🤣 But then what would a romance be without some danger in it? 💕💗🔥💕

Jess and four of her friends are planning to spend Summer in Alaska. However, when they arrive at their cabin, they discover it needs a LOT of work. It's the old Yeil place and it's basically a Wreck in need of everything. The girls hire electrician and contractor, Garrett, but there's more to him than meets the eye. He's a wolf shifter and Jess is his mate.
I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest review. The book is very steamy with generous usage of the "f-word" so if you don't like that, this isn't the book for you. However, the plot is there and it's a well-written story with wonderful characters. I was pulled in from the beginning and read this in one sitting. I'm looking forward to more from this series and recommend this book.
So I just finished reading this book for the second time. So I think it’s safe to say that I really like it. It’s one of those stories that just flies by because it comes so easy. Characters, pace, flow, world building, all great. Instant lust, but not instalove that you can’t swallow. The characters are gorgeous and lovable. And the conflict between the outside shifters and the women and the pack, adds a great level of intrigue and excitement, while there’s still more to go in the rest of the series.
It you feel like a steamy shifter romance with a bit of drama but is still light, I recommend this whole series.
This is the first story I read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Ever since discovering paranormal shifter romances, I’m always on the lookout for new stories. This one didn’t disappoint. The chemistry was off the charts from the start and oh so hot. The banter between everyone was great and of course the love was endescribable. Looking forward to reading the other stories in the series. I hope we get a story for each.

This is a fast paced, high heat romance, that has one amazing story. Jess' reaction to finding out Garrett is a shifter and her mate is realistic and understandable. I love that not only does this tell the story of Jess and Garette, but it introduces a world full of possible mates. I cannot wait to see who's story is next.

Jess has headed to Alaska with four friends to celebrate leaving college what she didn't expect was to meet Garrett. He is instantly attracted to her but she is human so he will need to work up to telling her his secret. Yep that didn't happen when danger threatens he has to bring his wolf to the party. Will she be so shocked/scared that she will run or will they have a chance at a future together, There is plenty of suspense and drama and quite a bit of heat in this fun read Highly recommend

Jess goes to Alaska for the summer with friends. The cabin is a disaster and when the electrician shows up Jess is wildly attracted to Garrett. Jess is leery since she just came out of a horrible relationship. Jess decides to give herself time to see if there is really anything between them. It's a fast paced book and great characters. I highly recommend this book.
An excellent book, full of feisty friends, determined to live their own life! So why not visit Alaska for the summer! A ran down shack, a sexy electrician, and an evil unruly exile pack of coyotes, determined to take the women and their home! Until the handsome wolves meet their mates, and protects their women! Lots of excitement, danger, and love in the air! Along with a few surprises!
3/5 I'm currently on a shifter kick! This book was pretty good. It took me a while to finish but I liked the storyline of the friends getting away for 3 months. And then mysteriously being attacked by coyotes and having hot shifters come find them and come to their aid. Nothing incredibly new in this book. But a fun storyline that kept you intrigued.
"I was in so much fucking trouble with this woman. One hundred and eighteen years alone. And what happens? My mate calls me up to ask for electrical services."

Really enjoyed this well written story. Strong alpha males and the women they meet who ended up in Alaska. One of them is the mate of the man who fixes up the cabin the 4 friends buy. This was a fun and sexy shifter read. I loved the characters and the plot that has so much potential as a series. I can’t wait to read the next book, Delia’s story. Five glittery stars!
Girl meets boy, instant attraction but boy has a secret. Little drama and danger. Good characters and dialogue but it felt rushed and it seemed to just merge from one sexual scenario to the next. Ok story.
