This was another great one like wow!

I loved this one as we see Senku and team doing crazy inventions and well they gotta be making new things to fight off in the tournament and we see the prep for that with Ginro and Kinro and whatever Suika is upto, Senku kinda making something for everything and yeah some moments with Chrome and him leadning of the ancient (modern) world and well I love the moment between two, they are so similar yet different and how it leads to the tension and drama, its so well written and the facial expressions drawn convery so much plus I love the charts and all and how they explain complicated things and all!

So yeah another great volume which does well to highlight these characters in a fantastic way and also props to the artist. Senku really gonna be saving the world on his own.. I am so curious and excited to see that! Plus some exciting stuff with Ruri and the stuff she knows about Senku!

The series has a very unique comic style that always brings a smile to my face. Kinro and Ginro are the cutest tag team there is when it comes to siblings.

Senku manages to make glass with the help of Chrome, Koharu and sweet little Suika.

As well as managing to help get a lab set up too.

Oh little Suika 😭 she can now see after having the "fuzzy disease" the poor thing just needed glasses 💔.

Also the Grand Bout competition is about to begin, who will win Ruri's hand in marriage?

Loved it!

This is a fun series and I love the friendships unfolding, and the tenacity Senku has to reinvent everything he does. They aquire glass and sulfuric acid here, which was very action packed. I feel like some of it comes super easy, or quick, but it's a unique take on a shonen manga!

4/5 Stars (%79/100)

Pretty good volume overall. I love how excited Chrome is about all this new science stuff Senku tries to get and how he tries to impress him as the "sorcerer." To create the Kingdom of Science, Senku needs as many allies as possible and he can't do it without first curing Ruri, the priest village and Kohaku's sister. So, he is still trying to create a drug to cure Ruri. Meanwhile, he crafts many important tools to work. I am excited about the upcoming fight tournament.

Dr. Stone ramps things up as we finally find a way to cure Ruri.

Senku and Ginro and Kinro along with Chrome figure a way to get a gas that'll help save Kohaku sister Ruri but it's extremely dangerous. With Senku asking Chrome to stay behind to ensure they still have a scientist just incase of the worse, things get a little crazy. We also begin the tournament arc for Ruri's hand in marriage and a couple of surprise guest come along to see if they can stop the bad guys from winning.

Again, this series is always interesting. Learning how to make glasses was awesome and as someone who wears them his whole life, I enjoyed learning about the process a lot. Suika is revealed in a rather cute and funny as hell way that made me burst out laughing. Kohaku has plenty of badass and funny moments to shine too.

I'm wondering where the hell Oki and Ogawa are and it seems like they're left behind. I hope we see them again soon. Other than that still enjoying this a lot. A 4 out of 5.

Sometimes we really take for granted some of the simplest things in our modern lives.
Glass.
Glass is particularly fantastic.
Beyond just holding stuff too dangerous for pottery & making windows safer, it also improved quality of life.
Just think of how many people were afflicted by what these stone age simpletons called "the fuzzy disease."
As one little girl with a melon rind mask found out here, prescription lenses make the world SO much better! It was particularly heartwarming having her POV as she saw the flowers, puppies, and friends so much clearer.

Aside from that, a scary situation with a poisonous gas-emitting lake and the tournament to determine the next village chief is on the horizon...good thing half the contestants are part of the protagonist's group right? RIGHT?!

Chrome and Kinro are good boys, I love them. Another good volume! Again really amazing expressions and I really love the character dynamics with this group can’t wait to see where it goes from here. Really love Kohaku’s reactions to Senku developing the ingredients for Ruri’s medicine. Also really appreciate how psychotic Senku is. And always remember: Good boys and girls shouldn’t use this to dispose of bodies!

4/5 Still working on a cure for Kohaku’s sister Ruri. Our team develops glass and takes on a quest for sulphuric acid. We also have preparations for Kinro & Ginro to join a battle tournament to stop Magma from becoming the village chief.

I’m still having fun with the series. Kohaku is gorgeous and the boys are goofs.

Senku & Chrome donning gas masks on the cover of volume 4.

I am truly amazed that I didn't up and die from the incredible character moments in this volume and the creepy as FUCK imagery regarding the sulfuric acid spring. Holy shit, Chrome is such a fucking amazing character and I'm so fucking glad he's Senku's new friend. Unlike Taiju and Yuzuriha, who I feel like was only friends with him because they got along, Chrome has a similar passion for science and hunger for knowledge that Senku has. Not only that, he's capable of seeing through Senku's bullshit and is willing to call him out on it, rather than blithely going along with everything he says and does. It's a subtle difference, but it makes for a more believable friendship.

Going off of strong characters, Kohaku really showed her willpower and determination to not only save her sister, but do things her way without shame. I haven't been too attached to her since she was introduced, but I think this volume clearly showed what a strong person she is.

That's all I want to say for now, looking forward to our obligatory Shounen Jump tournament arc!

P.S. The artwork was fucking awesome, as usual. LOVE IT.

The most fun I had with this series was selling it on Ebay! In all honestly I really liked the introduction, with the guy wanting to confess his love to a girl. Only for the whole world to get turned to stone, heck even when they woke up the Lion slayer that was pretty cool.

But when they got rid of the guy and the girl, the heart of the series and just made it about Senku and a tribe of cavemen. I really didn't care, I'm sorry but nothing about Senku interests me and this comes from a guy who's really into science and learning how things work. He made glass in this and it feels like he's just pulling stuff out of his ass, he made a coke for a guy who converted on his side. It came with a pristine bottle and coke label, it just came off as very cringey.

So Bye Bye Doctor Stone, you won't be missed!

As a glass wielder myself how can I hate on a story about a girl receiving improved vision? I often wonder about a life lived with the natural state of my vision. Who knows why my eyes turned sour. Could be my fault, y’know. It always makes me think reflectively about many things.

Mmm and as a retort that was never directed at me I believe nature does have brains and a heart, especially seeing as that’s our nature you’re talking about. The manga can be uppity when that’s not really its intent. Science on a pedestal is great and all, but it’s the minds and hearts directing it that truly channel its usefulness.

Getting off my own high horse. I liked this volume. Dr. Stone is back on the radar! Get excite.

This was a really fun read!

This series keeps getting better and better.

As I read, I get to know the villagers better and see their personalities. You start to see clear lines being drawn in the sand as you get to know some villagers can't be trusted and have cruel intentions.

I really like Senku's friends and I hope to read more about them.

This reads almost like a village building simulation, and that's what makes it different than other manga.

Of course, a tiny bit is unrealistic like the way Kinro attacks with his staff behind his neck, but it's manga so I can overlook this small mistake.

Some of the depictions of Kohaku are questionable though as she's 16.

Senku is the perfect type of main character in my opinion. I am 💯 a villain lover in most books and he fits that character archetype. He gives you “villain vibes” with his bluntness that comes off as rude, the way he seems to be very self centered - but really isn’t, not to mention his evil genius faces. I’m the end though, he isn’t a villain - his true goal is noble and I love that. Can’t wait to see how this whole story unfolds and all the creations Senku is able to invent despite his primitive surroundings.

This series is slowly getting better, not quite good yet but somewhat tolerable. Kohaku's backstory and reason for being strong is great, I like seeing how our growing cast of characters interact with each other, and Riri has some actual intrigue I am excited to see followed up on. Art style isn't really my thing when it's trying to be comedic or when it's showing the female characters, but some of the shots of Chrome and Senku are great.
