I wish this was a better bound book because it is a surprisingly knowledgeable collection of mysteries inspired by Shakespeare's life and works, even the very minor and lesser known plays. The mysteries are quite short, so this is a book to dip into rather than read in a couple of sittings.

The book was really interesting. Most of the stories bring me back in 1590-1600. I was impressed by all the stories of Shakespeare's life. If you like mystery and William Shakespeare this is your book.

like the first volume, the stories here vary in style, and in quality, but they are all interesting, often ingenious, and, at their best, gripping and credible

My sister got me this book one year for Christmas, while I was in the middle of reading 2 looong novels,so it took me awhile to get to it- But VERY glad I did! A Clever compilation of short story murder mysteries including crimes commited and solved by some of my favorite Shakespearean characters such as Faltstaff and Hamlet! It's a refreshing new take on the traditional Shakespeare in modern english. Fabulous book, for Shakespeare and Murder Mystery Fans alike!

Well, I was sick in bed (pneumonia), and I figured short stories wouldn't tax my rather weak attention span (I mostly slept). And maybe my illness affected my perceptions, but I did find this pretty pedestrian. Nh. This has a companion volume, Shakespearean Whodunits, which was pretty much the same. I read them both and I'm just going to repeat this review on the other book.
