This sweet, clean romance was such a delight to read, and I enjoyed it very much. The banter between Noah and Ella often made me laugh, and you could tell that they are meant to be together. The story of the town of Second Chance was intriguing, and added another layer of its own to the story. I recommend this book for anyone who likes clean, small town romances.

This series was recommended to me by a blogger I follow and I am so glad she did. Kissed by the Country Doc is a heartwarming story that definitely fits in with that Harlequin line. Ella and Noah were both damaged characters who had baggage from their past that they were still dealing with. The last thing they expected was to find someone they loved while trying to sort out their lives and future.

Noah and Ella were both well-developed characters. We were able to get a glimpse of their pasts and how they had changed due to circumstances beyond their control. Noah was a man who identified himself with his profession, job and the prestige he garnered. When he lost that, he lost himself as well. He became miserable, anti-social and angry at the world. Ella had said more good-byes in her life than anyone should. From the time she was a young girl she was shuffled from foster home to foster home. When she meets and marries Bryce, she finally has a family until tragedy took it away from her once again. With the birth of her daughter Penny, she is still considered a member of the Monroe family, but she is not sure if that is where she belongs. Ella and Noah loved each other at first sight, but did not want to act on it. It was Penny, with her sweet and trusting ways that forced them to spend time together. I loved Penny and think she added so much to the story. The rest of the Monroe family were not as well developed, but added to the story. I am already looking forward to their stories in the rest of this series. What would a romance be without some angst, and there is some in this story that is realistic. I liked how the plot developed as well as the romance. The themes of discovering your identity, second chances and taking chances were all here and worked well in this story. I am ready for book 2 in this series. The author generously provided me with a copy of this book upon request. The rating, ideas and opinions shared are my own.

Kissed by the Country Doc really was a heartwarming story. Ella and Noah were emotionally vulnerable characters, who both struggled with events from the past which impacted their view of present day situations.

It was interesting to get a peek into Noah’s past and see the type of person he used to be. His personal value was all wrapped up in his prestigious profession. Ella had much tragedy in her past, including the fairly recent loss of her husband. Ella’s desire to be considered a member of the Monroe family added a lot of worry to her shoulders.

I loved the interactions and attraction between Ella and Noah. And Ella’s daughter, Penny, was a sweet addition to the story. I loved the way she interacted with Noah, as well.

This is the first book in the Mountain Monroes series. Many characters are introduced and I am looking forward to reading future stories set in this fun location!

(4.5 stars)

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Such a sweet, sweet romance! I loved the playfulness and the fun these two had getting to know one another.

Her world is turned upside down once again. But this affects her daughter too. She has no choice but to go a g and see what's happening. Ella's family is in a shambles. After her Grandfather in law's surprise will, the family has no choice but to go to a little town called Second Chance, Idaho and see what makes this town so special he would buy it.

Showing up in the middle of winter with snow storms coming from everywhere wasn't the smartest of choices. But they want to evaluate and see how much the town is worth. And with Ella's experience in real estate they want her too. With her 2 yr old daughter Penny sick it worries her. And getting snowed in with the town doc, Noah has its advantages.

Noah is hiding. Once a powerful surgeon, he's now a lonely shell of himself. But Emma and Penny brighten up his days. And any way he can spend time with her, even to go thru the old buildings, he's all for it. But as his feelings grow, can he trust that she will accept his deformity and see him for what he is?

Emma can't be falling in love again can she? Twice in one lifetime is impossible. Or so her in laws will think. After losing Bryce she was a mess. But Noah makes her feel again. She can trust her heart can't she?? Things are so confusing for her. But when she sees him as more than a doctor, in his element he shuts her out. Her heart is breaking again. She just isn't ready, is she?

Noah must become whole to win her. He knows she loves him, but he has to love himself too. Will he be able to make both of their dreams come true and be everything she needs?

Ella Monroe is a single mom. She lost her husband in a car accident a month before her daughter was born. His wealthy family looks after her, but now with the death of Grandpa Monroe she might lose them. Now she's in Second Chance, Idaho, checking out the town to determine its worth. After all the Monroes have to learn to stand on their own. Ella finds herself drawn to Noah Bishop, the grouchy town Doctor. He's hiding out here from reality and his lost dreams. With her life changing drastically, has she found love a second time? Ella has survived so much loss. I admired her courage. She's a loving mother and protective of the Monroe Family. Noah can't cope with the changes in his life. An airplane crash destroyed his career as an orthopedic surgeon. I hated how he felt that he was a beast because of his scars. Second Chance plays an important part in the story. I wondered what plans the Monroes will have for this town. Melinda Curtis has written a romantic story filled with diverse characters. Right now there are multiple stories that need to be resolved in future books. I'm looking forward to learning more about the Mountain Monroes.

Kissed by the Country Doc by Melinda Curtis is book 1 of The Mountain Monroes.Melinda Curtis does a wonderful job of setting up her new series. The Monroe grandchildren are going to be interesting to know. Grandpa Monroe left them the town of Second Chance, Idaho. Noah Bishop is the doctor who is hiding out from life in the town. The grandchildren are divided on selling the town or keeping it an doing what it takes to make a go of it. Emma's story helps to set up the series but does fine as a stand alone. there is mystery, adventure and romance involved as well as children and a special dog with the weather helping the story along. I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to find out what happens next. If you like family relationship, small towns and a little mystery ,you will enjoy this book .

Enjoyable, An unusual story, but a little too open-ended for me. A lot of set-up for things I presume will develop in other books in the series. The resolution of this plot seemed just a little abrupt to me. Still, well-written, if simple.

Great start to what I hope will be a long series (there are so many cousins to write about!) revolving around the Monroes. Kissed By the Country Doc is about Ella Bowman Monroe, widowed “grandchild” of Harlan Monroe. Her story is sad and sweet and will clutch your heart from the first pages. The author writes a great story so I won’t try to do it again – as if I could – but Ella and her adorable daughter Penny end up with some of the other Monroe grandchildren in Second Chance, Idaho. I really felt the angst and pull of Ella’s feelings; she was full of doubt about her place in the family and the world. And then she meets Noah Bishop. He’s the town doctor – very rough around the edges – and there’s a connection between them that just won’t be denied. No matter how hard they both try. Penny, of course, steals Noah’s heart, but the story is about what Ella and Noah must personally deal with in order to move forward with life. I will say that the storyline surprised me; it went in a direction I hadn’t thought it would. Anytime that happens, I am happy! Although there is an overall story arc, this book is a standalone. You will, however, see that there are more stories to come, at least I hope so. KBtCD will touch your heart, maybe make you sniffle, and then wonder what happens to the rest of the Monroes. Well, at least I HOPE we find out the rest of the story… I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to read more.

KISSED BY THE COUNTRY DOC is the first story in Melinda Curtis’ new series, The Mountain Monroes. Although, I would strongly suggest you also pick up the prequel, THE SECRETS TO MY SUCCESS, which sets this series up nicely with an emotional, touching story.

Over time we will get to know the quirky, small town of Second Chance, Idaho – and it’s residents quite well. But for now there are a lot of mysteries surrounding the history, and the present of this town… and in many ways, the future is up in the air as well. This small town was owned, lock, stock, and barrel by millionaire Harlan Monroe. He, in turn, leased back the business to their former owners for a tiny yearly rent. Harlan’s recent death changes everything for he has some hard lessons to be taught to his entitled, spoiled children and most importantly to his twelve grandchildren who may not be as entitled but certainly have lived a well and prosperous life… up until this point. His grandchildren, together, have inherited the small town of Second Chance, Idaho – and what they do with the town, with the changes that have now happened in their family will show the true colors of each individual one of them, even the ones who are Monroe through marriage.

I easily got lost in KISSED BY THE COUNTRY DOC for it gave me an interesting story in the now, but also endless possibilities for what is to come and that is what will keep me returning to a series, those little tastes of what might be around the next corner.

Ella and her adorable toddler, Penny, are up first in this series and her story is at times heartbreaking and yet full of promise as well, depending on the choices she makes in the near future. Her husband’s death changed so much for Ella. They’d fallen in love at first sight, had a whirlwind romance and a fast marriage. His father always saw her as an opportunist not as a woman in love with his son, although Ian has been civil… until now. Ella has spent much of her life in the foster care system, so have a boisterous, large family like the Monroes as her own was pure heaven to her. Now that’s in danger as sides are taken, and choices between staying loyal to her family will clash with falling in love with another man quickly, but this man has complications that will make life challenging for them both.

Noah once lived a far, far different life than that of a country doctor. One moment, one life-altering event changed his future to a dark and cloudy nightmare. He has held himself aloof from most of the residents of his new home, dealing only with what’s necessary to survive. That’s about to change because Harlan Monroe’s death is going to open up a lot of locked doors that the residents would prefer to lose the keys to… and Noah has been recruited to keep an eye on one Monroe in particular because it looks like the grandkids are about to sell off their town, and there’s not much they can do about it.

I love a series’ opening story, the people we get to meet, the first impressions that I make about the characters… and often discovering that I’m off-base about some people comes as a pleasant surprise. There are a lot of people to meet in the first chapters, but in reality, we aren’t going to be dealing with them all right now, plus we have several more offscreen that we’ve yet to meet face to face. Yes, it’s going to be a long series. I’m already in love with Second Chance, Idaho – it’s quirky, mysterious and I can’t even imagine being snowed in there as often as the year-round residents do. It would be a place to prove yourself to yourself, and that’s a fascinating concept to me.

Noah and Ella are a couple that fit together. In spite of the obvious challenges for them, they simply fit. Watching them face their issues, make choices that are difficult but necessary and discovering who they truly are at the heart was an enjoyable, engaging journey. Expect layers in KISSED BY THE COUNTRY DOC, the surface is interesting but dig down a bit deeper and you’ll find a treasure chest full of emotions, decisions, choices that will change lives.

I was so caught up in this story that I was surprised to find myself at the end. That doesn’t happen often, folks. I don’t want to give away the details that matter so I’m going to strongly recommend that you pick up KISSED BY THE COUNTRY DOC and discover this brand new world for yourself… you will not be disappointed. You’ll discover mysteries, histories, interesting secondary characters who light up the pages, characters that you want to know more about and a couple you’ll want to find their happy ending for they both so deserve it. I’m officially hooked on The Mountain Monroes, and I’m betting you will be, too.

I own a Kindle edition of this story.

Kissed by the Country Doc by Melinda Curtis sees single mom Ella bring her daughter to the snowy mountains of Idaho to visit Second Chance.
Will Ella find another chance at love there?
Ella Bowman Monroe
Ella is the widow of Bryce Monroe, and she has a two-year-old girl named Penny. Penny, Ella, and five cousins of the Monroe line decide to head out to Second Chance, Idaho, to see what it is all about. Mostly to figure out why Grandpa Harlan would leave the town to all twelve grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. Ella is a sweet mom and cousin trying to keep herself tied to the only family she truly knows, thanks to her marriage to Bryce. It seems like the older Monroes, not the cousins, want her out of their family. Besides being a mother, Ella is a savvy real estate agent and good at her job. You tell by how she handles a few of the properties that she could look at.
Noah Bishop
Kissed by the Country Doc CR Dr. Noah Bishop was an orthopedic surgeon until he was in an accident that left his hand ugly and unable to perform surgery. So, he goes to hide out in Second Chance, Idaho, to try and be a country general practitioner to everyone in Second Chance. Noah was definitely a grump when Ella showed up, but as they spent more time together, she changed the town's grump into a good guy. He is like an onion. Ella had to peel back the layers to reveal his inner nice person.

I love Noah and Ella's relationship and how it blossomed despite their not wanting it to. These two are definitely cute together, and he is an excellent guy to Penny.
The Story
After Grandpa Harlan's funeral, the Monroe clan attends the reading of his will. The children of Harlan got a sweet deal, while the grandkids and great-grandchildren not so much. So Ella, with Penny in tow and five other Monroes, went to Second Chance to learn more about it. I love how Ms. Curtis set up the series in a way that, in each new installment, we learn more about the town and story.
Five Stars
Kissed by the Country Doc by Melinda Curtis has Harlan Monroe's grandchildren finding out about their inheritance and learning what to do about it. Ms. Curtis has a great series on her hands, and I can't wait to get into the next book...at some point. I am giving Kissed by the Country Doc by Melinda Curtis five stars and recommend it.

The Monroe family is the center of this new Heartwarming Harlequin series The Mountain Monroes. The first novel, Kissed by the Country Doc, by Melinda Curtis, opens with the reading of Grandpa Harlan Monroe’s will. Full of surprises for the Monroe heirs, the will sends some of the younger generation of Monroes off to Second Chance, a small mountain town in Idaho. One of them is Ella, a Monroe by marriage, but widowed for two years, with an adorable two-year old. What will happen when Ella, after a childhood of foster homes and seeking a love that will last, encounters Dr. Noah Bishop, whose successful career as an orthopedic surgeon was crushed in an accident?

As snow strands the four Monroes in Second Chance, we learn more about them, the inhabitants of the town, and its mysterious history. In fact, we discover just enough to pique curiosity about the origins of the town and why Grandpa Harlan left the town to his grandchildren. The Monroes are divided about what should be done about the town—sell it off, try to inject new life into it, reinvent it as a high-end tourist destination, or some other solution. Their inheritance could be a blessing or a disaster, and perhaps the hardest part will be to get all of the grandchildren to agree on a decision.

Since sixteen relatives of Harlan Monroe are shown on the handy family tree included in the book, I feared I would have trouble distinguishing and remembering all of the characters. That actually is not a problem as only four of them, plus Ella, are characters in this book.

Ella is a very likable character as is her daughter Penny. More of a puzzle is Dr. Noah Bishop who struggles with his identity as a former surgeon whose hand injury keeps him from what he and his family view as his full potential. The author cleverly helps the reader understand the dual nature of Noah as he struggles to disassociate the man who falls hard for Ella and her daughter from the jaded, self-loathing failure, Dr. Bishop, by sharing the reactions of both. For example, “Dr. Bishop fell off his stool in a dead faint. Noah’s reaction was equally shocking. His mouth dropped open and his waffle-loaded fork hung in midair.” Both Ella and Noah have issues to overcome to be able to give and receive love. Read Kissed by the Country Doc for a sweet romance in a snow-covered mountain setting. Add in a lovable two year old and an injured dog and hang on to your heart so you don't lose it in Second Chance. I am looking forward to more stories about members of the Monroe clan and the fate of this little town and its residents.

I would like to extend my thanks to Melinda Curtis for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a sweet and charming romance with a beauty and the beast element. It is a heartwarming story that I enjoyed reading.

The beauty is Ella, a single widowed mother of a precious 2-year old little girl named Penny. She fell in love at first sight with her first husband, Bryce. His father never accepted her and when he died before Penny was born, he made her life challenging. Ella is strong, loyal, loving, and sweet. She is a well-developed and likable character.

The beast is Noah (or No as Penny calls him!). He had a tragic accident that ruined his career as an orthopedic surgeon to sport stars. He's bitter, closed off, and broken. A beast on the inside with a scarred hand that makes him think he's a beast on the outside. He's his own worst enemy in many ways. Typically, I can't stand characters like him. However, the author did an amazing job showing his vulnerability. When a character like this is written, it is VITAL that the reader gets a glimpse into their internal thoughts. It allows us to feel connected to the character and understand that while they may act a certain way towards others, there is something still redeemable about them. The author handled this beautifully. I adored Noah and his broken self because I saw inside him.

Their romance is a insta-love. However, it's not a smooth one. It took a little time for them to overcome obstacles that they themselves placed in the way of their HEA. OK, most of the obstacles were from him. However, she also had a few to overcome. The author made me believe in their chemistry and their love story, bravo.

The ending made me smile and feel happy.

This is a clean romance with no swearing and no sex. It is not a Christian romance (I clarify this since I've put them together on the same shelf).

First in the new series, The Mountain Monroes, that begins providentially in the wintertime with TONS of snow in little Second Chance, Idaho. Ella Monroe, widowed and raising her toddler daughter while surrounded by the big, rich family of her late husband, she has no idea what will happen after her grandfather-in-law dies and creates demands in his will that force his grandchildren to pull together if they are to receive their legacy.

When Ella, formerly a real estate agent, is asked to assess the value of the little town for her Monroe in-laws, she encounters Dr. Noah Bishop. He's hiding out in Second Chance after a terrible accent forces him to quit the job he's always reveled in: being an orthopedic surgeon, his skills having kept pro athletes on the field after horrific surgeries. But he can't do that now. And he has determined his life is over as a result.

Ella doesn't think so, is not put off by the scars on his hand and when Woof, a homeless dog, is taken in by Noah, Ella is convinced he not only has a heart but isn't anywhere close to dying a slow death--if only he can see that, too.

When an accident forces him to assess a truck driver's accident, she sees how much he needs to practice his medical skills again. He's not so sure, even in the face of his acknowledgement that he loves Ella. She's afraid to say she feels the same when her hints are met with shocked silence on his part. How is this going to be resolved--in this title or in subsequent ones? Can't wait for the next installment that will likely explore other quirky characters in this little town in the mountains.

This was the first book I read by Melissa Curtis. I love her writing style. The story flows so well and I was immediately drawn into the plot. The characters come to life with her expert development. Also her scenery descriptions are fantastic and I could see the landscape and buildings in the town of Second Chance vividly.

Ella fell in love at first sight with Bryce and soon Penny was born. Ella thought she finally found the family unit she had always wanted and then the Bryce was killed in an accident. Bryce's Monroe family accepted her into their clan, somewhat. A series of events brings some of the Monroe family to the town of Second Chance, which they inherited. Who owns a town and how did that happen? There is a mystery here. Second Chance is light years away from the life they know. Maybe it will be a second chance to change their lives for the better?

Noah was top in his field of Orthopedic surgery before an accident caused his hand so damaged to the extend he could not operate. He is hiding from his fears and life in Second Chance.

When Noah meet Ella sparks fly and fate takes over and will help heal them both.

This is a very enjoyable sweet romance and I would recommend it highly. I have the next book in the series already "Snowed in with the Single Dad", which I will be starting tomorrow. I also will definitely be reading the previous books Melinda Curtis has written.

4.5 Stars. A sweet romance that grabbed my attention within the first chapter. The reading of Grandpa Harlan’s will was explosive. The author masterfully brought the scene alive, putting me in the room with the stunned family members. The main characters, Ella and Noah are perfect for each other. Their interaction is tender and witty. There is also a great cast of characters, some we get to know in this story and others I suspect to see in the future. Just a few of my favourite characters were: Penny – Ella’s daughter (loved her kissing game), Woof – the dog (too cute), and Shane – Ella’s brother-in-law (who is gruff and guarded yet has a soft side). Roy is a fun character as is Odette who holds a lot of wit and mystery. There are so many characters I want to know more about and to learn who will be paired. The snowy setting is picturesque and getting a look into the old buildings was enjoyable. There’s a history in this town and mystery around the corners. The author provides a look into the Monroes with a family tree, which I really liked the addition of. I was hooked at the end of this book and can’t wait to read book two of The Mountain Monroes, which will make it to the top of my reading list sooner than later. What a great start to a series. I look forward to what secrets the author reveals next. Reviewed for Still Moments Magazine.

“Kissed by the Country Doc” begins The Mountain Monroes miniseries by Melinda Curtis.

When Harlan Monroe dies, the reading of the will shakes up the lives of the Monroe clan.
Ella Monroe and her daughter, along with a few family members, travel to Second Chance, Idaho to see the town Harlan left to them. Once there, they meet the locals, who are closemouthed on why Harlan bought the town.
For Ella, who married into the family and is widowed, one local stands out from the rest. Dr. Noah Bishop.
Noah is in Second Chance because his career as an orthopedic surgeon ended after an accident. Noah is tasked to keep an eye on Ella since she has a real estate degree. But then, Ella and her daughter are snowed in at Noah’s cabin and it’s there when Noah and Ella acknowledge their attraction. Except, they both need to believe in their own selves before being able to have happiness together.

With a twist on the Beauty and the Beast fairytale, Ms. Curtis pens a story that makes you believe this town and its people actually exist and that you are a part them.
I look forward to meeting more of the Mountain Monroes and visiting the town of Second Chance.

Kissing by the Country Doctor-
I thought the story was both heartwarming and sad. When grandpa Monroe passes and leaves the Second Chance town in Idaho to his grandchildren and great grandchildren there shocked to say the least.
The town isn’t to happy to have the Monroe’s in there town. But When Dr. Noah Bishop falls for one certain Ella Monroe and her little girl Penny things get complicated. Ella is a widowed mother, and also on the side of the family who’s trying to take away the town he lives in.

Ella is lost after her husband Bryce has passed. She’s unsure of what it means to her and Penny when grandpa Harlan Monroe is gone now to. Penny is a Monroe. She goes to the town of Second Chance with the rest of the family not expecting the county doctor. A little game her sweet daughter Penny loves to play and she’s kissed by the country doctor.

Noah and Ella both have scars inside and out. Can they fight past them? Can Noah get over that she’s a Monroe. He can’t help the way she’s not taken back by his injury they hides everyday.

See what happens.

I love all books by Ms. Curtis..she never disappoints.

4 1/2 STARS!

Recognizing new beginnings! With the kick off to her new The Mountain Monroes series, Melinda Curtis brings us the story of Ella as she continues to learn how to move forward after loss. She isn't always sure where her place is in the family, but she knows she won't give up on the spirit of being a Monroe anytime soon. This book laid a good groundwork for the series and has me looking forward to more to come. Really enjoyed!

Ella Monroe treasures the family that she married into. As a widow raising a darling little girl, she still considers them her own, so when they need her to accompany them to the town they all inherited in Second Chance, Idaho, she's there! Adjusting to a slow country life is easier than she imagined since there's a handsome doctor catching her eye!

Doctor Noah Bishop isn't living the life that he always dreamed of anymore, but he's making do in Second Chance. Meeting Ella and Penny awakens a passion for life in him that he hasn't recognized in a long time. Can this be the wake-up call that he needs to live the life he's always wanted?

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I just really enjoyed these characters and their development! The story line was intriguing and I didn't want to stop reading until I finished the book! Other reviewers have outlined the plot so I don't need to rehash that but I fell in love with the main characters, Noah, Ella and sweet little Penny. Ella's background leaves her desperately wanting to belong to a family. Even when she marries into the Monroe family, it's on shaky ground when her husband dies shortly after they are married - where is her place in this big, wealthy family now? Noah is from a wealthy family and his future has always been laid out for him. He was an outstanding orthopedic surgeon to the most famous sports stars. When he can't do that anymore, where's his place in the world? These two lost souls try to navigate their "worlds" and their budding relationship. Throw in the sweetest little girl named Penny and a rescued, injured dog named, Dog and you have a wonderful story! Can't wait for more in this series!

When Harlan Monroe passes, the reading of the will changes the lives of the Monroe heirs. He had left a legacy, his children are too old to change. What is left are the grand and great grand children. They are left to inherit the town of Second Chance.

Ella is a widow, who married into the Monroe clan. In her prior life she was a real-estate agent and is brought to Second Chance to guess-a-ment the price in order to sell the town.

Dr. Noah was a top notch orthopedic surgeon, his career ended after a devastating accident. He is pissed at life and want's nothing to do with anyone and wants to be left alone..........until Ella is stuck in his cabin snowed in with a very sick child. attraction blooms, but these two are not ready for love. Will they ever be?

I look forward to meet more of the Monroe's who visit the town of Second Chance. This is a beautiful and sweet second chance story

This was such a great read I admit I would stop reading it for a few minutes every now and then so it would last longer! The town of Second Chance id full of friendly yet suspicious people as the first lot of Monroe's descend into town, the town don't know what they are up to and even the Monroe's aren't exactly sure now either as they earn more about the town, the people in it and the history. This story drew me in and made me excited to read more in the series as as you read you see where other stories may go and you want to learn even more about everyone. Ella wasn't really a Monroe however you could see how Brother in law Shane and Sister in laws Laurel and Sophie loved her and looked out for her in their own way and ugh wee Penny and woof too cute, she almost has the perfect family but both Noah and Ella struggle to over come there own scars and all you want is for them to get together!! ❤

I really enjoyed this love story. I enjoyed how independent Ella is and how what came across through the whole story was how important her daughter and her well being is. In this story Ella seeks a family and she needs to find who she is in order to find the family she has alway wanted. I really like how the other Monroe's made sure she felt like family and she was just as important as they were. I was not a huge fan of Noah he bugged me at first but he grows on you in the end. This book very much feels like you are catching up with friends and not reading fiction. I loved how clean this book was and how it was a quick and easy read. I can't wait to read more of this series and see what's in play for the rest of the Monroe clan.

I love reading Melinda's books. In this one I really got caught up in the story and had a hard time putting it down. I loved Ella Monroe for she reminds me of alot of single moms out there. Dr Noah Bishop was gifted and lost it all or did he. I love the way Melinda brings in the richness of family and love of family. She draws you into the story about the mystery of grandfather Harlan Monroe. What he does to the grandchildren set the tone for what I think will be a great series. I loved getting to know Ella and Noah. For there was some laughter and tears in this story. But it keeps you reading to see how the story ended. The ending is kinda interesting. I look forward to the next one in the series. Hmm who it be?

Ella is a single mother who is co-inheriting a small down Second Chance, Idaho and is getting the scope of the town. Little did she expect to fall in love with Noah Bishop the small town doc.

This was a pretty cute and heartwarming book. Ella hasn't had the best childhood, then manages to find the love of her life and he die a month after their child is born. Her late husbands family hasn't been all that supportive either. There there was Noah who had is own sort of hang ups that lend him to be a small town doc in Second chance. I loved seeing that connection between Ella and Noah and seeing him soft towards her and her daughter as well as others was cute af. This was a sweet contemporary romance and I really enjoyed reading it.

This is a good start to a new series. Ella is a widow with a little girl. Noah is a wounded surgeon hiding out in Second Chance, Idaho. They both need a second chance. Ella just wants a family. Her mother was a teenager on her own, but died when Ella was young. Noah was a surgeon to many athletes until his accident. Now he feels useless. Ella believed in love at first sight but believed it could only happen once and she had her one time, but when she met Noah, she started thinking that lightening could strike twice. If only the doc would let her in. Noah comes from a perfect family and he isn't so perfect now. How can he love someone else when he doesn't even care about himself?

I really enjoyed Kissed by the Country Doc by Melinda Curtis. It is the first book in the new series The Mountain Monroes and is Ella and Noah's love story. This story is reminiscent of the fairy tale Beauty and the Beast which is one of my favorites so I was thrilled to read this contemporary version of it.
Ella Monroe along with others in the Monroe family are surprised at having inherited a small town in Idaho called Second Chance. Can they each find a new life and love in a small town called Second Chance?

I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.
