TWILIGHT is a praise-piece to the qualities of the two-light, the trickster hour, to the qualities of the dusk, in which so much that seems certain during the day becomes less distinct and fixed. It is also a piece in praise of the creatures of those hours and the way of thinking and being that is possible when the boundaries of this and that fade into the waking edge of night.
Twilight is part of the ‘Seven Doors in an Unyielding Stone’ series.
Jay Griffiths was born in Manchester and studied English Literature at Oxford University. She spent a couple of years living in a shed on the outskirts of Epping Forest and has travelled the world, but for many years she has been based in Wales.
Wow. Just wow. I am utterly blown away by this most intuitive and thought provoking little gem. Absolute genius. So many clever connections to phrases and folklore; ancient myths and common parlance. I love Twilight even more now. The place to be.
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. This little book contains a lifetime’s worth of re-reading possibilities. Jay Griffiths’ writing is magical and the book itself is lovely. This is going to be my go to for moments in the day I need to take a breath.
