Welcome to Shadow Valley where the Dirty Angels MC rules. Get ready to get Down & Dirty because this is Linc’s story…
For Linc, life was easy. But life’s about to change.
The Dirty Angels MC is Linc’s life. The club his family. His lifesaver when he’d been drowning. Being a part of the club makes life easy for him. He wakes up, rolls out of bed, heads downstairs for grub, booze, women, whatever, before hitting the bar at night for work.
But then there’s Jayde. A dark-haired, blue-eyed beauty, a college graduate and an aspiring attorney. The first time he’d seen her hips swaying through church, he couldn’t keep his eyes off her. Since then, they’ve circled each other for years. But Jayde deserves better than him, so he’s kept her at arm’s length. Linc has nothing to offer her, while she’s poised to take on the world.
Not only that, she’s dangerous. Her father’s a cop. Her brother, too. Even worse, her oldest brother is the club president. And that’s the most dangerous of all. No matter how much he wants to touch her, smell her, taste her, make her his, he knows he’ll take his life into his own hands by doing so.
Jayde’s torn between her family and the forbidden pull of both Linc and the DAMC. Will a mistake they make finish destroying the Jamisons? Or will it heal the long-time rift between the club and her family?
This book includes a lot of steamy scenes, biker slang, cursing, some violence and, of course, an HEA. If you like alpha males who like to take charge, this book is for you.

A good read for me; I haven't read all the books in this series, maybe one another one ... The H and h have known each other; he is a biker while she is his MC member's sister and a cops daughter. They get together, she gets pregnant and the story goes from there .. Initially H tells h to get an abortion as he panics but he quickly smartens up; even though he doesn't have much to offer, he makes an effort .. h starts off as immature at 28 years old but she smartens up too ... I liked the effort H makes with h's father ... he values family too ... a good read overall
This one really started out as a shit show. The thing is you could see this coming for a long time, I'm actually surprised that it took 4 years to happen. I really didn't like Linc due to how he reacted to things, but will say that by the time the book ended he redeemed himself and I was happy that he and Jayde figured things out, despite her father being a POS. Sure Mitch was slightly better by the end, but honestly it's been too long for me to want to like him, he fucked over Zak too long and too hard.
The first sentence. That's what it took to know Linc's book would be a highly emotional read for me. I was book hung-over for days after finishing. I experinced the full spectrum of emotions while reading. I choked up, cried and laughed my hair off in equal measures.
I loved Jayde and Linc. I loved their heartbreaking and at the same time hopefully uplifting story.
A message to anyone who followed this series this far or is just about to start it. You. Have. To. Read. This. Book.
I almost gave this 4 *s because of my gripe with NOTHING REVEALED about Pierce's demise that I was hoping to see here, since Dex's book left me wanting with those details... but I had to give it the 5*s it deserved because of the tear jerking going on here! The family riffs being mended here! With Zak and his dad. How Linc & Jayde's circumstance and loss set this in motion, the Epilogue 😍😍😍 OMG all of it!
And just how everything flowed organically here. I was here for it. I did not expect to love Linc or his book so much, but I am so in my feels for this entire story. I felt every emotion across the spectrum with this book. This one will kinda be with me for awhile yet... After all the anger, hurt, & witnessing them learning and growing in love for the next generation to come. My heart exhaled with this one. It really did.🤍
Please read this series in order. It's just a great read.
Ok...I have been devouring these books and all have been 5 freaking huge star books!!!! But this one just fell so flat for me. As a student, I was on full scholarship and graduated free and clear of debt...just like Jayde who also drove a fucking CAMERO!!! So at 28, living at home and finds herself preggers...frackkkk she was so immature, spoiled and entitled it made me angry! Then to have them all worry about how to finish school...I was like what?!?!? My coworker who was on her own since 16 put herself thru university, had 2 kids by the time she graduated and raised them with no child support or any family. So cry me a river the Jayde has all the DAMC and was actually worried??? Get a student loan, finish law school and stop relying on your parents....28 year old woman here people!!!! Also, the whole Bella’s babies...I was like whaaaatttt why use Ivy’s eggs??? Surely that fucker with his 3 stabs wasn’t so precise that he damaged both ovaries and her uterus??? A hysterectomy does not remove the ovaries!

Oh, my heart! It has been a while since I got lost in this world and it was like coming back to old friends. I forgot how much I loved this world, these loveable tough bikers with hearts of gold. Yeah I know that sounds clique but it is true.
Linc and Jayde, phew their story isn’t an easy one by any means. They go through some pretty heavy stuff but come out of it stronger. My heart was in my throat through most of this book. I didn’t even press pause once I was so invested. It is stories like these that make your heart hurt and your pulse race that make you never want to stop listening.
I think what I loved the most was the family aspect in this book it really was woven throughout in a lot of different ways, the family you are born into and the family you choose. Sometimes they can’t or won’t come together but sometime every once in a while you get lucky and they both can see they are stronger together for the sake of the people they love.
Again I am a huge fan of Ava Lucas the woman’s voice gives me shivers. J.F. Harding is delicious in his own right too. A delight for the ears to be sure.
4.5 Stars ....Full of emotional writing about a young couple faced with an unwanted pregnancy only to find out they wanted the baby more than they knew. A tale of two people as they age and mature and find deep love through the struggles they face. It's all about families loving one another, not just this one couple, but others also related by blood or brotherhood. I love this author's writing style because her writing and the characters make me really feel. Highly recommend this one even if you don't like biker books.
THIS BOOK. It starts like a Hitchcock movie with an earthquake and later everything is getting worse. But CHANGE worse for better. It can be read as standalone but relationships will make much more sense while reading in order. First sentence and BANG. I'm starting at it for Good few minutes thinking will There be so Many emotions that this is just a start? Trust me - There will be constant drama, misunderstandings and dealing with old grudges. Both well written and considered. Be warned There are some major triggers If you have any read with caution.
Like popcorn laced with crack - from the first page, first sentence, I was hooked. This book just doesn’t stop. It is nonstop drama and action. It beat me down, messed me up and then built me back up again. This is, imo, the most emotional one of the series, although Axel and Bella are right up there. I didn't think too much of Jayde and Linc in previous books. There are just too many other colorful characters. Well, they’ve both stepped up to the plate in this one. I hated and loved Linc. I pitied and admired Jayde. And all of my favorite characters are back with new (and exciting) drama. Really, this is a roller coaster amount of emotions, drama and issues. It guts you from the first chapter and really doesn’t let go until the very end. I say best of the series to date. Oh, and the epilogue! Bring a tissue-it’s so exactly what I wanted. I’m basking in my DAMC hit.
5 star review of Down & Dirty: Linc Dirty Angels MC #9 by Jeanne St James
Audio Review
Just when I think that Jeanne St James cannot give me another favourite bad boy biker, she does. I have been waiting for what seems forever for Linc and Jayde’s story in audio but boy was it worth the wait. From start to finish Jeanne St James and the narrators J F Harding & Ava Lucas drew me in and kept captivated with their narration which was spot on.
I have loved both of these characters since they were introduced earlier in the series and I knew that this pairing would be explosive on several levels, least of all for Jayde’s uptight policeman father and brother. Add in that her other brother is the President of the DAMC and trouble is sure to land on their doorstep.
This one was more emotional and I was captivated from the first to the last chapter. Linc knows that Jayde can do so much better than him and yet there is something between them that he struggles to ignore.
Both Linc and Jayde can no longer fight the intense chemistry that sizzles between them but giving in are they prepared for the costs that will be incurred? Will Jayde’s attraction to Linc and the DAMC finally destroy the Jamison family or could it heal the rift between the family and the club?
I love Ms. St James’s style of writing, she packs such a punch into her characters and her stories. Raw and gritty there is something about this series that truly captivates me and has now become my favourite MC series.
Family is growing while another is starting to patch it's holes. The DAMC family continues to get larger as the next generation is being born. Mitch who is Ace's and Axel's and Jayde's cop father just might be coming around. You'll get the story in this book so it's a must read. Linc is a bit of a mystery or should I say his past is. Nobody seems to know where he came from just that four years ago he showed up and has become a part of the MC family. He's single and plans to stay that way because who he wants is totally off limits. They had a one night stand when he was drunk but that is all it can ever be. Jayde is the baby of her family even though she is an adult and college educated. In law school now and plans to join Sophie in her practice since she is so busy with the club. She wants Linc like no other. Only has eyes for him but even after their one night stand he still won't give her the time of day.... until he has to. Seems he is going to be a daddy. Now everyone is freaking out. Things must get worse until they get better. Especially since their are still Warriors out there looking for them What happened when they get a hold of her? A DAMC woman... sister to the club president and daughter to a cop....oh and a sister to another cop. Maybe some things aren't meant to be. I did tear up during this book.
I knew this was going to be a good book but it exceeded my expectations. I loved Linc and his backstory was so tragic. Jayde and Linc are perfect for each other. I was rooting for them so hard. Their story had all the guys and ladies from the previous books. The fourth generation of DAMC are piling up and I love it. I really hope the author continues and tells their stories too. I was so happy April finally set an ultimatum to Mitch about making things right with Z. She should have done that years ago. Loved the epilogue and being able to see how happy the Jamisons will be. Sophie is truly a selfless woman I love her. I can't wait to read Crow's book he one of my favorite characters. 💜
Absolutely loved Linc! Jeanne St. James has a way of bringing her readers into her story and never letting them go. This story bought me to tears and laughter. Parts of Jayde and Linc's struggles hit home for me. I could understand their pain!! Another hit for this author!! If you havent read DAMC series I suggest you jump on the ride with Zak and go from there!! Happy Reading!!
Dear lord... the feels ... the emotions ... the rollercoaster. I was dizzy by the time I finally got off (no pun intended). This book hit me in the heart. Linc, *sigh* that poor soul, and Jayde, if there is anybody who has ever been caught between a rock and a hard place, it's this woman. I loved their passion, their intensity and their attraction. These books just keep getting better.
This is hands down my favorite book in this series. Book 10 is gonna have to work hard to top it! I feel like this book provided so much healing. Who cries happy tears while reading an MC book?? Me that's who! I just loved everything about this story, can't wait to Crow get his happily ever after in book 10.
Well let me start with saying that it start it off good, but somewhere around the second chapter you lost me cause if I'm not mistaken she was 28years old and was still living with her parents and not having a day about her own damnnnnn life and her brother's threat to beat the shit out of him😠😠😠😠😠😠😠couldn't get whit this book, but the fact that you made the rest of the woman in the book basses and made her weak not cool
The first sentence quite literally had me clutching the pearls I wore for dinner with my momma and gasping, "Duuuuude." Then again, that's the trademark of any Jeanne St. James books: expect the unexpected. Your face will express many different human emotions as you read along, so tell anyone within your vicinity that crying and snorting within seconds is a natural reaction induced by a certain author.
I've read (and owned, digital and/or in paperback) every book that this author writes, and I'd been looking forward to Jayde and Linc's story ever since reading about their little defiant and rebellious little glances in Z's book. I won't summarize this story, because that's what book blurbs are for and this book deserves to be read from cover to cover. What I will discuss in the review is again, the amazing plot lines and characterizations that had me clutching my pearls, working hard not to spew coffee from laughter (anytime big Daddy D pops up), uttering "duuuuude" or "y'all" (come on, Mitch, duuuuude), and getting so many lumps in ny throat I need to schedule an appt with an ENT (Linc, you precious cinnamon roll).
I love Ms. St. James characterizations! She writes about deeply flawed characters whose actions and choices may have you cringing or frustrated with them, but she shows you deeper into those actions and decisions: the reasoning, the heart, the brokenness. So even if you want to whack someone upside the head (Aloha, dear Mitch), you still feel for them and that head whack is more an NCIS Gibbs rather than a Nate Diaz whack. She also shows growth in her characters subtlety, but in a way that packs a punch. Cases in point: Diesel, Bella, Axel, Linc, Jayde.
I cannot wait for Crow!
***I received a digital ARC of this book, but as you can see through my verified purchase, this book was so great that I ended up getting my own paperback copy.***
Oh my gosh, I finished Jayde and Linc's story many hours ago and have been trying to figure out how I was going to write my review. My emotions were all over the place with this story. While I have loved all the guys of the DAMC, Diesel has been my favorite. Now, here comes Linc, pulling at my heartstrings and having my ovaries going into overdrive. My feelings for him have me feeling like I'm cheating on Diesel. To feel so attached to these characters, to me, is a sign of a great story and a great author.
From the very first line I was hooked. I couldn't put it down. Linc's past weighs on him. He lives with feelings of failure, guilt, and regret. He's finally found a family with the members of the DAMC and, despite wanting Jayde, he doesn't want to do anything to screw that up. Not to mention, he doesn't feel he is good enough for her. Jayde has been in a tough spot for years. Her oldest brother, Zak, is DAMC through and through and the club president. Jayde's other brother, Axel, and her father, Mitch, are police officers. Neither approve of Zak's choices and it has caused a rift in the family. Jayde getting involved with a Dirty Angel could only have disastrous consequences for this already fragile family, right? I laughed and I cried throughout this story. I held out hope for Jayde and Linc, as well as the whole Jamison clan. There were a few surprises and I absolutely loved the direction the epilogue took. If you haven't started this series, why not? I highly recommend checking out all the books in the Dirty Angels MC series!
I have to say that Linc and Jayde’s story rocked me to the core. It was raw emotional feelings between them, they are passionate, steamy together and Jayde is sassy and speaks her mind, sometimes too much to let Linc get a word in edge wise. They have been tap dancing around each other for five years and one night Linc couldn’t fight his urge to have her anymore and crossed the line he drew in the sand. They’ve wanted each other from the moment they laid eyes on each other, but the situation warranted for him to stay clear of her, that is until he didn’t. I loved that we get to see a different side to Linc and learn about his past and what’s been eating him up inside. Jayde’s family is still trying to mend fences, but her relationship with Linc just may be the tipping point, but maybe just maybe it could be the best thing ever. I’m going to stop there, I don’t want to give anything away with their story because it’s too good to spoil. I’ve loved all the DAMC men in this series and thought I had my favorite, but that’s changed Linc has taken his place, he may be complex and gritty, but deep down he’s so much more and their story gave me so many feels, I laughed, I cried and I wanted to smack them both upside the head at one time or another, this is a must read. If you haven’t had a chance to start the series, please do, you won’t be disappointed. Jeanne continues to heat up the pages with the DAMC men and I can’t wait for Crow’s story.
Linc and Jayde were not what I expected - Wow! Emotional story w several twists and turns - Highly recommend this series!
For mature readers only (18+ years old) due to subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language throughout, steamy intimate scenes and violence such as kidnapping, assault, (attempted) rape, death, etc. as this is a MC story after all.
The characters may be bikers, but they were developed as rugged, crude, over-protective alpha males, but they are all about loyalty and family. So while they are not an outlaw club, they will do what needs to be done to protect their family.
While this could be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend it be read in series order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers as there are reoccurring characters and an overall storyline arc.
It seems like I keep writing how much I love this series, but after 9 books written from the POV of both characters, they become very familiar, almost like visiting family you really like and want to stay awhile with ... just too bad that they don’t exist in real life ... 🤪
BUT ... this is another really well written story, with highly defined characters and story universe. Normally I provide a little bit about how this story begins, but I really don’t want to provide any spoilers, so I will leave it with the author’s description.
This one started off as a total WTF? 🤯 but, thankfully, it ended on a much better note.
I was excited to dive into Jayde and Linc’s story, but the beginning nearly lost me. Their immaturity had me thinking I was reading about 15 year-olds instead of two people in their late 20s 🙄. And Linc? He started out as a total ZERO. Thankfully, he redeemed himself and went from zero ➡️ hero by the end. 💪
Not a spoiler: Jayde ends up pregnant after her and Linc’s stolen moments at a wedding. 🤰 This reveal happens right away and drives the entire storyline. They’ve been circling each other for years—Linc always keeping his distance because she’s the daughter of a cop, sister of another cop, and the little sister of the MC president. Basically, dating her = death wish. 🚫⚰️
But after one too many drinks, his willpower failed. Instead of owning up, Linc ghosted her completely. No calls. No texts. Nothing. Then Jayde drops the baby bomb and he handles it HORRIBLY. At first, he was a complete jerk (seriously, I wanted to throat-punch him 🫠), but he eventually put on his big boy pants and started stepping up.
There were definitely some dark, heavy moments (no spoilers here 👀), but I liked how the story balanced that with the romance. Watching Jayde and Linc grow individually and as a couple was the best part ❤️. And I especially loved seeing the healing finally starting for the Jamison family. 🌿
I'm going to do a public service announcement before you start this book make sure you have completed the checklist. 1. A box of tissues 2. The biggest bottle of your favorite liquor because soda and juice want do you and good and forget the glass and drink straight from the bottle. 3. Make sure you set aside the whole day without any distractions because this book calls for all your attention. Once you have done that sit back and enjoy the beautiful emotions roller coaster ride. My emotions are wrecked I was so freaking happy for Zak and Linc took me by surprise. Linc is so much more than a biker he loves Jayde and as much as he tries to hide he has a big heart. Jayde is the one person who he wants to do right and be more for but he knows it comes with a huge problem one he is not willing to put Jayde through. Jayde took one look at Linc and knew she would do whatever it takes to have the love she sees her parents and brothers have. She just doesn't know how to make Linc see that without losing her father. The one person I found myself liking was Mitch. In this book Mitch was different and it kills me to say this but he needs his own story now. My heart broken into a thousand pieces at one point. I'm not going to say anything else because it will ruin the story for you and this book is definitely worth reading I highly recommend this book you want be disappointed.
These stories just keep surprising me. This is another installment of the DAMC series. Jayde is the daughter of a cop the sister of a cop and the sister of the president of a MC club. She does exactly what she wants no matter what her father thinks. She is the only girl and both brothers are protective of her. She has had eyes for Linc.
Linc is a member of the DAMC. He like Jayde but he likes being alive also. He knows if he has any kind of relationship with her he may suffer the consequences of her father and brothers. So you know that he will not be able to stay away. This story also had its heartbreaking moment which I didn’t see coming at all. I had to take a few moments until I could start reading it again. I felt for Linc everyone we finally learn his past and Jayde’s father is still a horrible man that makes things harder.
Even through the sad moments there are also some things that will make you laugh and guess what it has to do with Diesel. Through all the obstacles I even started to wonder wouldJayde and Linc get their happily ever after. This story is put together beautifully and I would definitely suggest it. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this story for my honest review.
I don't know how Jeanne St James does it, but every time I listen to one of her DAMC books, I think this is my favorite. Well, this one IS my favorite. Maybe because it includes so many of the characters from the series. Maybe because I have a soft spot for babies. Maybe because Jayde is such a strong, smart woman. Maybe because Linc is a tough yet passionate man. I just can't put my finger on it, but as I listened to this book, and became involved in the story, I fell for every part. There is a flow to this one that really enraptured me, held me hostage as I listened, made me feel longing, hurt, pain, grief and love. St James gives it her all every time, but this one, yes, this one is the best!
Now with this book, the narration had to be perfect, and the choice of JF Harding and Ava Lucas could not have been more spot on. JF Harding has a way of narrating can give his character that edge, the one that makes him seem aloof, yet you can feel his passion underneath his exterior. Ava Lucas encompasses her characters and I feel her meld with the person as she reads from her heart. And together, they bring Linc and Jayde to life. I loved it!
From the very first sentence, through laughter and sobbing tears, to the very rewarding peek at Jayde and Linc's life three years later, you won't want to quit turning the pages! I did have to get up for more tissues and had my grown kids get me something to eat. Linc's book was perfect for keeping us up to date with all the Dirty Angels since by his getting involved with Jayde Jamison, St. James has us right in the middle of the split family of one founder (one brother a leading policeman of Shadow Valley while the other serves life in prison, one third-generation brother also a policeman with the other the president of the MC). Blessed be the female peace keepers: mother April, sister-in-law and whispher Sophia, and Bella Dougherty, granddaughter of the other founder. Linc himself who seemed like a colorless but goodlooking grunt turns out to have had a lot going for him. Toddler Zeke and his fourth generation co-hearts gave a charming light note to story. Be sure to start this series at the beginning with book one.
