The Christmas Melody is the seventh and final installation of 'The Hardman Holidays' series by Shanna Hatfield. For those who are reading the series in order, we now get to focus on Fred's Aunt Claire Baker and the mysterious Grayson Carter, living with his young daughter in near isolation.

It is exciting to follow the lives of the main characters, some who may have been, but usually both might not have been introduced inside the previous books, in this series, as each book weaves this community of friends and neighbors into such a lovable place to visit.

DESCRIPTION:

He needs a holiday miracle. . .

In truth, she loves Hardman and the people there. Which is why she wants a recluse she met in the woods and his adorable daughter to join in the community holiday celebrations. With Christmas fast approaching, a mystery to be solved, and old-fashioned holiday fun, this sweet historical romance will fill your heart with the joys of the season.

Magic, humor, and heartwarming moments blend in this sweet holiday read.

It is exciting to follow the interwoven main characters from the previous books as each book takes the reader through twists and turns before weaving them into this community of friends and neighbors, creating a lovable place to visit or reside.

These two experienced a strange courtship with some unexpected twists and turns. It is sad how greed and fear played such an intricate part in how they were forced to live.

This clean and wholesome series, with the exception of some passionate kisses, provides a wide array of Holiday and romantical experiences in the town of Hardman, Oregon.

It is an enjoyable series and I would recommend it to those that enjoy this genre.

Oh this book is definitely a Christmas Melody playing and singing its music all the way into the very depths of my spirit. I was just enraptured in The Christmas Melody from the first time Claire hears 4yr old Maddie Mae playing her Violin. I could just imagine at the beautiful music Claire must have heard. The story of how sweet Maddie’s Father Grayson Carter and Claire Baker fall so deeply in Love is just Beautiful. Hard as Gray tried to push Claire away only made Claire that much more determined to win Gray’s Heart. The mystery of Why Grayson Carter and his young daughter Maddie Mae were living a reclusive life in the Woods of Hardman was an added bonus to this Awesome story. It’s just amazing how Shanna Hatfield can continually write books with such Wonderful mesmerizing characters and storylines. I have said before and will say it again and again Shanna Hatfield is blessed from Heaven’s Angels with her writing gift

This is just another fantastic story and a great example of what a great author Ms. Hatfield is.
I instantly fell in love with the heroine Claire and it took a bit to fall in love with the hero Carter because he first comes off as a Beast to her Beauty. When they first meet, he is gruff and wants her of his property and never to come back. She wonders immediately why he is living out there in the middle of the forest with his daughter and someplace no one might see. She only stumbled on the grove where his four-year-old daughter, Maddie Mae is playing expertly a violin and Claire is stunned to stumble on this scene of a little girl who plays a violin so well in fact better than some professionals she has heard.
This story in Hardman, Oregon is beautiful story that just reminded me of Beauty and the Beast but with a whole lot more. Maddie is prodigy child of the violin and Claire wonders why he hides her when she could get the best education back east to spur her on to be the most wonderful violin artist ever.
Claire and Carter are both instantly attracted to each other but he always acts gruff when she returns to the grove where they first met.
I love that we get to see old friends and new ones and there is always something or someone that causes a person to hide or have fear for someone in these stories.
I love the entire series as Ms. Hatfield can really build great characters and fun towns and situations that makes you just keep turning the pages and not be able to put down her stories. From the first page to the last you are in for a wonderful ride and all the stories I have read from her are like this.
She is a great word builder, great character builder and loves to often put in animals that are fun and exciting. She creates scenes that you feel part of and you always feel part of the story and town.

I encourage you to read this story to find out what happens with our hero and heroine and everyone else. You will want to find out if Carter ever comes out of hiding and goes into town, or if people find out about Maddie the prodigy.
I have to say you will love this story, as I did, and all the stories Ms. Hatfield writes.
I am always amazed how she can come up with the scenarios she comes up with. You will too.

A little mystery and intrigue

With each book I read in this series, I find myself feeling more and more at home in Hardman. Fred's sisters were so much fun in the previous book that I was hoping they would make an appearance again and I want disappointed. There's some mystery regarding a man who has sequestered himself and his daughter in the woods. Claire knows that there's something he's hiding, but has no idea what it could be. She's quite infatuated with Maddie, though, and is hoping to get closer to Gray and find out what he's hiding. This story had me wanting to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next. I highly recommend this book to anyone who lives a little mystery and intrigue in their romance books.

Loved the concluding book in the Hardman Holidays series! Ms. Hatfield captured my heart with the characters and community of Hardman. This novel about Gray Carter and Claire Baker was no exception, fulfilling the motto: last but not least. I adore Claire's love of adventure, kind heartedness, generosity, and beauty inside and out. Gray is a tough one to crack, but leave it to his imp of a daughter, Maddie and Claire to step up to the plate to try. Romance, faith, friendship and character with a hint of danger all lead to trustworthy happy endings in this series. Thank you Ms. Hatfield!

Grayson, Claire and Maddie

This is a sweet loving story written by Shanna Hatfield. She has included lots of adventure and excitement along with a smig of humor in this tale. Claire is the youngest of three sisters from a wealthy family from the east. Grayson and has young daughter are living in isolation as he tries to protect them from being harmed or murdered. Claire stumbles on to their hidden cabin and caring and romance takes it from there. You will enjoy discovering how they find their happily ever after.

To Keep Maddie Safe

They just get better and better. Love this series. Love the characters and especially little Maddie. Who couldn't love this child? My mother played violin and it isn't easy. Doesn't surprise me that a toddler could play. Look what they do on computers. A great story for the holidays. Nice and Clean for everyone and it does have a bit of action and a killer along with comedy scenes and good cheer for all.

Awesome.

This book is awesome. A girl meets boy story. But the big has a child and he is very protective for a reason. She draws him back to society and makes him want things he thought were lost to him. And the little girl. Well she's the best bonus ever. Read this book for the pure joy it brings.

What luck

On a whim, I decided to read the first book in this series. After that I had so great a time reading it, I had to read the others. Each story had such a different approach and included characters from the other books. I love reading Christmas stories all year round. Love this series.

Love Hardman!

Hardman is an amazing small town. The people who live there have become book friends and I’m always eager to revisit this fun town. This book was a great read. Less suspense than other Hardman books, it still offered a picture of family, friendship and healing.

Good book

Another good book by Shanna Hatfield. Clean, historical romance in the early 1900s in eastern Oregon.
I have loved that all of the world events mentioned in the books were from newspaper articles in a nearby town. It just makes the story that much better.

Maddie was an absolute delight. When Grayson finally told Claire about his reason for hiding, I knew who was responsible. I also had an idea about what was coming thanks to Claire's snooping. The action packed ending was a surprise worth waiting for...

This is one of the best books in the series. I had tears more than once! Some for fear of a little girl running through the forest to say her daddy. Some of joy for love and freedom. Great story!!

Over all a sweet read. However the heroine’s name I thought was Claire but she was called Clarice at times.
