Getaway #4

Runaround

Rate this book
Can two people perpetually moving in opposite directions ever end up in the same place? Or will love just keep giving them the runaround?

Webb Bryant is intimately acquainted with every type of trouble there is. Trouble is all he’s ever known and the only constant in his life.
Webb’s a man constantly on the move. He’s a drifter. A wanderer. He bolts from one bad choice to the next, never able to put enough distance between himself and the ghosts from his past. He lives hard and fast, until everything comes to a screeching halt the moment he lays eyes on Tennyson McKenna. The stunning woman appeared out of nowhere to save the day, and Webb’s been unable to forget her. The leggy, blonde forest ranger might very well be the one person in the world important enough to finally keep him in one place. Only, Ten isn’t impressed by Webb’s knack for finding trouble. And no matter how hard he tries to shake it, he can’t escape his bad habit of falling into the deep end of questionable decisions. When his newest brush with trouble gets Webb in way over his head, Ten jumps after him into the dangerous waters. It’s possible they’re going to sink so fast they both might drown.

Tennyson McKenna makes it a point to be diligently cautious in all aspects of her life. She learned the hard way that leading with your heart instead of your head gets you nowhere.

Ten’s a woman stuck in a frustrating rut. After a string of failed relationships lands her back home, a pit stop to mend her broken heart becomes a hole she’s lost the will to dig herself out of. Coasting through her days was easy until Webb Bryant crash-landed in her path, complete with bullets, blood, and a grin far too charming for his own good. Webb is anything but safe and predictable. He’s everything Ten swore she would never gamble on again, but it’s impossible to ignore the way trouble follows him around like a shadow. And every single time Ten pushes Webb away, she finds herself chasing after him before he’s gone for good. When Webb’s past finally catches up to him, Ten has to decide if she’s brave enough to put her heart on the line for a man who might be gone tomorrow.

Annoying heroine. She over thinks, and in constant need of reassurance. Typical heroine who doesn’t just grab what’s in front of her, take charge and feel secure with her decision. Ugh!

I only went for this book because the book and audio combined was only $3 with great narrators. With the next book being an m/m, I also wanted to get a little background on the series without having to start at book 1. I’ll just wait and hope for an audio to come out for book 5, and stop torturing myself with this one.

Review by Trinette Dungee

Stability is not something Webb Bryant is at all familiar with; trouble however, well trouble and Webb happened to be the best of friends. When Webb stumbles into Sheridan Wyoming to search for his missing brother, the last thing he expects to find is stability but that’s what he finds. For the first time in his life he’s found a place where he feels he belongs, where he does something that matters and where he feels he has a purpose. It’s also where he meets Tennyson McKenna, the sexist woman he’s ever laid eyes on. Ten wants nothing to do with him, or at least that’s what she says, but there’s a spark between the two of them that Webb’s determined to ignite even more; but Webb’s old friend trouble shows up and he now he not only has to convince Ten he’s the man for her but he needs to clear his name from a string of armed robberies committed by someone who shares his face.

Tennyson McKenna is a girl unlucky in love. Her first love didn’t love her back and she had to sit back and watch him fall in love with another woman. Her second love tried to turn her into something she wasn’t and now she has to go toe to toe with him as he’s determined to put Webb Bryant behind bars. Webb just happens to be the latest guy to catch her eye. Webb couldn’t be further from what Ten wants. He’s got a rap sheet as tall as he is, he’s arrogant, he’s dangerous and he makes her insides combust. Now Webb has found himself mixed up in a string of robberies and Ten finds herself right next to him working to prove his innocence; at the same time Webb’s proving to her that he might just be the man for her after all.

This is the fourth book in the Getaway Series. In the first three books I read about the Warner Brothers falling in love and at the same time read how Webb and Ten have danced around each other on the peripheral of each story. FINALLY, they get their story and I was not disappointed.

Webb and Ten turned out to be nothing like I expected. Both had that hard exterior. I expected Webb to be the bad boy alpha male, no compassion, just out for himself until he’s broken down by a woman. Ten came across as a ball buster of a woman who just didn’t take any crap. You saw a bit of a softer side of her in Retreat but I still expected her to be hard as nails.

Webb was a bad boy but he had a heart of gold. Although his childhood was beyond rough, the one constant in his life was his brother Wyatt. Webb loved his brother unconditionally and would literally die for him. He’s found family in the Warner family and in the people of Sheridan. For the first time in his life someone other than his brother is willing to protect him and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to protect them even if it means facing a past and opening old wounds.

Traveling back to his birth place take Webb down a dark road that full of emotions and this is where Jay Crownover slays me. She’s one of those authors with the ability to make the emotions simply jump off the page. My heart ached for Webb quite a few times, if I could I would have jumped into the pages and given him a hug (and I’m not a hugger). Ten is a tough one but Crownover manages to subtly slide in that soft side of her. For three books I could only see the tough woman with the walls up that didn’t seem open to love and by the middle of this book, I was rooting for her to just thrown caution to the wind and open her heart to Webb.

This was most definitely worth the wait. Just like Webb and Ten were on the peripheral of the Warner Brother’s stories; Webb’s older brother Wyatt was also there and in this book, he’s even more present I’m hoping we get a Wyatt story soon. Also, there was a little nugget of info on a sexy as hell sheriff in a small Texas town in this book. I’m hoping we get to see Sheriff Lawton again.

4.5 I love this series. The plot was super old school soap opera fantastic. I love the premise of an evil twin 8-)! Ten was a great compliment to Webb. Their characters meshed with chemistry and depth.
Jay Crownover is an extremely talented writer. I found myself re-reading descriptive paragraphs just because she wrote them so beautifully. If you need a getaway, I can't recommend this series enough.

Webb and Ten’s chemistry…their connection, has been simmering in the back of my mind since we were introduced to them in the previous Getaway books. The fact that Jay Crownover has gifted us with their unforgettable happily ever after, is just icing on top of the cake. I loved how Webb never gave up on his feelings for Ten, even though she wouldn’t give him the time of day. I loved how he was a drifter at heart, but the minute he met Ten, all he wanted to do was stay still in the moment with her. It might have only been lust at first sight, but the more time they spent together, Ten’s walls surrounding her heart started to collapse. The more time they spent together, the more Webb’s urges to flee started to dissipate. They grew closer and closer, they just needed to finally allow themselves to be happy. They needed to know that they deserved each other, without their pasts getting in the way.

OMG! The minute I finished this book, I wanted to start it all over again! These two characters absolutely melted my heart. The butterflies in my stomach were strong with this one, but that’s really no surprise considering who the amazing talent is behind the words. I was sad for this book to end, but I’m wildly excited for what’s to come. You could read this book as a stand-alone, but trust me when I say, the emotional payoff will be so much better if you started this series from the beginning. You have absolutely nothing to lose here!

I loved Tennyson from the previous books, so I loved getting her full story and well, Webb, he proved to not be just a pretty face and hot body. A complicated hero that I just absolutely loved. As always, J.C. weaves a complicated story with impossible hurdles, yet some how and some way they arrive at the same HEA.

I knew that Webb was going to get his own story! He had to after everything he'd been through in the previous books! I surely enjoyed his growing attraction for Ten and the chase both gave after a mysterious thief who is also trying to pin all the crimes to Webb. Family history, emotions, and growing love bring both characters closer in this sequel.

I do have some ideas about who is going to be next and I hope that Jay will prove me true.

Runaround by Jay Crownover is the 4th book in the Getaway series.
It is a standalone but in true Crownover magic, Jay gives her readers little nuggets of gold wrapped up in visits from past and future characters and always leaving her readers with wanting more.

Ten and Webb's story was long awaited and filled all my expectations.
The chemistry between these two is electrifying and the romance plus action and suspense is intriguing and page turning.

STRONGLY recommend the whole series!!
Reading order is
Retreat
Shelter
Escape
Runaround
and she has said there will be one more in the series!!

Ever since we got a taste of Webb and Ten’s undeniable chemistry in the previous books of the Getaway series, I’ve always held onto hope that they’ll get their own book. Now that it’s here, all I can say is that it was absolutely worth every second of the wait. They had my heart simmering and melting on the palm of their hands the second I dove into Runaround, and it just left me on a kind of high I didn’t want to come down from.

“Life is too short to waste time and energy on the people who don’t want us. They don’t matter. They don’t get any part of you. Save everything you have, everything you are, for the people who want and need you.”

Webb Bryant was as irresistibly charming as they come, but he’s always had a penchant for finding trouble. He also never had a place he really called home—he just never stayed in one place long enough to call it as such. But ever since he found himself in the middle of the wilderness with the Warners and spotted the leggy blond forest ranger, he decided to have a change of pace and stay a while. When Cyrus Warner offered him a job as a rancher, it only sealed the deal even more.

“I’ve been waiting for you, Ten. I didn’t know it, had no idea I was searching for something, or someone, all these years I’ve been on the run. First time I saw you, I finally wanted to stand still.”

Tennyson McKenna has lived in Wyoming her whole life. She had this vision of how her life would turn out, until everything started to fail her—especially love. It seemed that those she chose to hand her heart over to just weren’t the right people and she always ended up getting left behind, thinking she‘d never be enough to be their first choice. But Ten steeled herself, learning to be the strong, independent woman that she is. And I loved it. I loved that she knew how to stand up for herself and carry her own. Because if not for that, she wouldn’t have been able to become Webb’s anchor who constantly grounded and steadied him.

Even if she was covered in thorns, I didn’t mind bleeding for Tennyson McKenna.

I already knew Webb and Ten together would be intoxicating—they just have the kind of connection and dynamic that would pull you in no matter what. But what had me majorly glued to the pages of this book was the twist—the massive twist that Jay Crownover threw in like confetti, and had my jaw dropping and my eyes bugging out. Since then, there was just no putting this book down.

“I don’t have faith in many things, Ten. You and me, I’ve believed in from the start.”

Runaround was every bit gritty and gripping down to its very core. Every chapter will wind you so tight, you’ll constantly be on edge, waiting for that other shoe to drop. The plot was so well-executed, it’ll leave you riding an adrenaline high like no other from start to finish. Jay Crownover has truly knocked this series out of the park, and every single book just gets better and better. Here’s to hoping we get the next one real soon because that I’m definitely dying to get my hands on!

I liked this story but I didn't love it. Honestly, I was surprised that it took me this long to dive into this book. I read the first three books in the Getaway Series years ago and finally decided it was time to dive back into this world. There were things I liked about the story and things that grinded my gears.

I think I will start with what I loved, which was the absolute slow burn between Tennyson and Webb. Tennyson was fighting her feeling for so long before she finally gave in. She was like a moth to flame, she just kept circling and circling, knowing it was dangerous but eventually giving in. Webb, this poor man is a can of worms. And while he is first introduced as all charm and smiles, there was a surprising depth to him. He had a gentle vulnerability that left me feeling for him.

The plot was excellently balanced. I was worried that the drama would overshadow the relationship but they were in perfect harmony. The drama fed Webb's vulnerability/honesty and in return, fueled Tennyson desire for him. Now don't get me wrong, this is a Jay Crownover book so obviously there are some crazy, unexpected plot twists, but they all added a layer of complete surprise and had me wondering what was going to happen next.

There were a few scenes that had me questioning a lot. Mainly, Webb and Tennyson travel back to Webb's birthplace and end up getting it on in some weird places. This took me out of the story and had me wondering, why here? Then, as the plot came to a climax I found myself annoyed with Tennyson. Towards the end of the story she became not only selfish but also foolish. She made a very dumb mistake and as an ex-FBI agent, I expected better of her. I was yelling at my Kindle something fierce during these chapters. I enjoyed the book, but I didn't find myself immersed in the world.

Runaround is the fourth book in the Getaway series of Jay Crownover and tells the story of Tenn and Webb, a story I've been waiting for since Escape and I'm glad that here I finally ventured into the story of these two.

The book follows the same dynamic of the others in the series: there is a novel that captivated me, a suspense that left me stuck to history, action to give more agility to the story and clear hot and spicy scenes could not miss. It's a slightly shorter book than the rest of the series, but that served the purpose and told the story of these characters very well.

Tenn and Webb are characters who are drawn to each other, and when fate throws them on a quest for the truth of Webb's past together they have to decide whether to risk or continue pretending that the attraction isn't there.Tenn is a woman who has never been lucky with love, but she is strong, determined, courageous and gradually opens up to that possibility. Already Webb is that person who had a difficult childhood, that person that calls problems wherever you are, but throughout the book we can know a little more of him and I ended up enchanting him, not only for his love to Tenn, but for the love of his brother.I think these together though seem to make no sense together, are perfect for each other, if they complete and above all deserved to achieve their happy ending.

Runaround is a good book, one of those that besides having a good and well written romance has a touch of suspense that left me stuck the story up to the last page.

This series!!!! I have devoured books 1-4 in 6 days....yes you are reading that correctly!

Runaround held true to its title! Webb had done so much running in his life....let me preface that we were first introduced to him in Retreat (he was a secondary character). I was curious about him while reading it and was so anxious to get his story. Him and Ten were a perfect pairing! Ten was such a bada^^!!!! I love when authors can take a female lead and give her that tough as nails attitude but also have that soft side. Ms. Crownover nailed every aspect of the relationship development between Webb and Ten.

Two observations/notes I made while reading:

1) Butterflies galore at 43%.....❤️❤️❤️❤️
2) I really hope we get a story about Sheriff Case Lawton

Okay, now I’m sharing a fav quote:

“You took my breath away, I’ve been trying to catch it ever since”

I can’t stop at one, because....well, because....

“Let yourself be the star he can follow when everything else in his life is dark”

As suspenseful as the others but the story was a bit unbeliveable lol
Ten and Webb were good together but to be honest i didn't understand all of it or feel that much connection... even if it was obvious lol I think it's mostly my fault because i was a bit less invested.
Overall it was nice and engaging but with an unbelievable plot
I'm curious about Wyatt, i hope we will have his story !

What a story! I mean come on that was awesome, Webb’s a character you want to get to know, but he isn’t going to let you he is very much a loner. But Ten has a way, she just catches his eye and he hers. But she has been burned before and is gun shy.

I love how she stands up for Webb and doesn’t let anyone walk over her she knows what she is saying and makes sure the right people hear her.

The story is a journey for sure, and Wyatt to plays a part that we are going to see come into play I hope soon because he is a man I want and need to know more of. He needs a HEA.

Webb and Ten make for one heck of a team and the way this story goes down you won’t want to miss out on the action.

Aiden Snow, need I say more. That man’s voice I swear to god. Lush, Swoony, DEEP. Lynn is great too I liked her performance just as much.

Original review on Julalicious Book Paradise

Did I scream when I saw Webb and Ten were getting a book? I might have. Okay, I totally did, but you can't blame me, these characters were so intriguing that they needed their own book. From book one, I was waiting for Jay Crownover to tell us she was indeed writing this book. I knew she wouldn’t let us down, but I needed to hear it from her and now, we have this beauty in our hands and it was amazing.

If you haven't read the previous books, I advise you guys to correct that immediately if you don't want to be spoiled and because they are also totally amazing.

The story begins where the last book ended when Webb's is arrested during Cyrus and Leo’s wedding reception for a series of burglaries and from then, starts the race to prove his innocence of the crimes is being accused of.

Webb is far from being an angel, but he didn’t commit these burglaries he is accused of and though he can’t understand how his DNA was found at the scenes, he can count on his brother and Ten to help him out. What follows afterwards, is a race against time to find the real culprit and hopefully bring him to justice. What Webb didn’t expect was that Ten would follow him and make sure they arrested the right guy. Those two have been playing around one another; him chasing her and her pushing him away, but they are always pulled back together one way or another.

Ten is an independent woman, but in this book, we can see how vulnerable she is and when she can help Webb, she goes without a second thought. What she probably didn’t expect was what she would have to face her attraction to the man and how it actually fits into the kind of life she was trying to reach. Reading from her point of view, I really felt for Ten and how her past relationship affected the perception she had of herself. With Webb she is forced to deal and reconsider everything she might have thought about herself.

Both of them have issues and throughout the book, they learn to let go and they learn to see from different point of views. From the outside, you can only believe they are totally opposite, but in so many ways, they are the same; both are trying to find something that they might have believed to be out of reach before they met.

The journey had so much twists and turns that I never expected a whole lot of them and that’s what I enjoyed the most because you never know what’s going to come out of Jay Crownover’s head whenever she writes. You think you know, but you never really know and that’s what makes this book so amazing. I loved the chemistry, I loved the story, I loved how she always makes her characters relatable to us readers even when we don’t realize it.

Some of the characters from the previous books make small cameos here and there, but not a whole lot which is totally alright, though I won’t lie I missed them so much hehehe…

Overall, this book was another 5-star read in an already 5-star book series. I loved everything about it and I could have gone reading hundreds of pages more just to stay with Webb and Ten. Jay Crownover knows how to keep us hooked on her books.

I was giving an advanced copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.

Wow, there is SOOOO much going on in the pages of Runaround. Not only do we get to delve deeply into the defining characteristics of both Tennyson and Webb but we also get to uncover the events that have contributed to the pair developing the characters they have.

I adored the way in which Jay personified Trouble, and how well that personification fit into the narrative. It truly felt as if Trouble was an entity determined to drag Webb under at all times.

It was a difficult journey for both Webb and Ten, having dealt with major issues within their lives they both have a veritable suitcase of emotional baggage. No matter how much they like to think the negative events are firmly behind them without dealing with the ramifications the underpinning emotions find a way to break free. Especially when the ghosts of the past are intent on disrupting the present.

While the plot could have been far-fetched, the delivery was ingeniously well crafted, making the plot believable and realistic in its place within the chaos of Webb’s life.

There are carefully placed introductions to some of the characters in Jay’s new series; Loveless, Texas 😍 Which leave you desperately curious to get to know them better. As well as a tempting connection between Webb’s brother, Wyatt and the delicious Sheriff. I’m rooting for Wyatt to find his own HEA with Jay’s help of course 😉

Webb and Ten are extremely complex characters with different layers they present to the world depending on the situations they find themselves in. However, together they are able to embrace the events that have shaped them both without letting it define them. Each becoming the person they most want to be with the encouragement and support of the other. 💕

The emotions literally pour from the page – if you’re looking for a story that will make you feel all the feels then look no further because Runaround delivers a smorgasbord of feels 💖

Trouble finds a way to follow Webb Bryant throughout his life. While attempting to create a new life in Wyoming, Webb is taken into custody for a series of robberies he knows nothing about. Determined to clear his name, Webb must lean on the one person that he wants nothing more than to find a future with.

Tennyson McKenna hasn’t had the best track record in the romance department. Those mistakes have led the strong willed Ten to be a bit more guarded with her heart. Nothing could have prepared Ten for the way Webb would push through her defenses. Now – the cost of Webb’s safety and innocence will lead Ten into the past. With a former lover that is determined to sacrifice Webb’s freedom for notoriety, Ten will have to risk it all to uncover the secrets that are threatening to harm the man that has captured her heart.

Runaround is the latest installment in the Getaway series by Jay Crownover. It is filled with broken hearts, long lost siblings, and a quest to uncover the lengths one will push towards to save the one that holds their heart. Ten and Webb will travel through many hurdles and heartache to uncover the cage around their hearts. Their attraction is one that will capture your attention and leave you desperate for more. Simply put – I couldn’t get enough of these two!!

Love is never perfect, a reality that Ten and Webb know all too well. What matters most is the devotion and joy from finding that one true love. That sentiment cultivates into a great romance that has a secret lurking in the background. Runaround was a wonderful compliment to the two characters that deserve that chance at finding the missing piece of their soul. If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading the Getaway series – make sure to add it to your collection today! !

This is book 4 in The Getaway Series and if you want to understand the timeline of past events and of the characters then I suggest reading them all in order.

Okay so I'm not going to rehash the story because if your reading this then hopefully you will have read the first 3 books.
This is Webb and Ten's story and its action packed and full of exciting moments that will pack a punch and leave it's mark.

Webb has a sort of rough edge to him, he was no angel in his past and trouble seems to follow him around like a bad smell. However when he wants something he is so relentless in making it happen and vows never to give up when it comes to pursuing the one woman who has held his interest. Once problem though, Ten has her own past and is reluctant to give her heart up easily so it looks like he has a fight on his hands.
Ten is that feisty heroine we all seem to love. Like a moth to flame she has that charming magnetism to her but at the same time nothing phases her and she will go in all guns blazing.

I will admit that even though I loved this book I just think there was a little something missing in the first 20% of reading. Maybe it was that slowish burn but then it could just be me.
The plot stays as original as the first 3 books and again is extremely well written. The characters themselves each have their own traits and personalities to keep you invested and with all the action going on in this book you won't ever be bored.

Next up is Brodie and Wyatt's story which will obviously be M/M and I for one can't wait to get my hands on it.

3. 75 stars. This was a good book. Runaround is Webb and Ten's book from the Getaway series. Ten is a forest ranger and former FBI agent. Webb works at the Warner ranch after having been through an ordeal in Cy and Leo's book. Ten and Webb have had an attraction since they met, but she has rebuffed his advances. Webb is a flirt and trouble seems to follow him, plus he is six years younger then her. He is very interested in her though and can see them together in a serious relationship in the future. When trouble finds Webb again in the form of a bank robbing identical twin he never knew existed, Ten and Webb team up to find out what is going on and who this brother is. They go on a cross country trip and face demons from Webb's past, falling in love along the way.

The story and writing is very good. I enjoyed the suspense and was entertained. I like Webb and Ten in general. Their relationship is a bit slow to develop. I did find the material a little dry at times and I didn't 100% fully connect to the couple. Also, I felt the final conflict between the couple a little contrived.

Still, overall, I enjoyed this book. I like the feel of this series with the ranch setting and small town vibe. Also, we are introduced to the town of Loveless, TX, about which there is a new series coming soon, and meet some new intriguing characters there. I look forward to more from Ms. Crownover in the future!

4.5+ stars!

Trouble has a tendency to follow Webb Bryant and find him, even if he runs from the last bit of trouble. Settling down isn’t something Webb has considered, but after he finds a place at the Warner Ranch, he considers staying -- if he can convince the pretty forest ranger to look his way. But even though he is tempted to stay in one place, a past he didn’t know to guard against threatens the first bit of peace he has found.

Tennyson “Ten” McKenna is back in Montana after some time away in law enforcement. Now that she is closer to home and working for the Forest Service, she can’t imagine living anywhere else. She doesn’t trust that Webb isn’t looking for trouble, but she also sees a side of him that no one else sees -- the side trying to shake the trouble dogging his heels.

This was a wild ride. Twists I didn’t expect popped up throughout the story to keep things moving. I loved watching Ten flex her investigative muscles as she helped Webb trace his past and try to stay one step ahead of the approaching trouble.

As usual, Crownover has created a cast of characters that acts as family, adopting those who join even without blood ties. I loved seeing Cy again, especially considering his history with Ten. Watching both Webb and Ten navigate the gruff man (and his intent to push them in what he feels is the right direction) was entertaining to say the least. Though much of the action of this story didn’t take place directly on the ranch, it was comforting to return to this world, and exciting to watch Webb and Ten try to find resolution for themselves and for Webb’s troubles.

I received a copy from the author for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

That was fantastic, I am hoping that my reading mojo is well and truly on its way to staying back.

I’ve really enjoyed the Getaway Series, following the Walker Brothers, has been fun, and now we get Tennyson and Webb’s story. It is part of a series, which needs to be read in order, otherwise you won't understand the storyline as much.

They were really great together, the anchor’s they both needed, even if they didn’t think they did.

They both ‘got’ each other, and worked hard on making each other understand the severity of their feelings.

Their story was a thrilling suspense, with an awesome love story running through it.
They were both individually sensitive people, with back stories to make your toes curl, and they both handled their pasts somewhat gracefully but seeing them both coming to terms with their pasts together was so beautiful.

They didn’t give each other worked they thought they wanted to hear, they both dealt with their feelings and then passed them feelings onto the other with such ferocity of truth, you felt it as you read it.

The suspense of will they /wont they in their love life and also in their fight for getting to the bottom of the misdemeanours going on, really had me turning the pages, not to mention the hotness levels between Ten and Webb.

I loved the curve ball of surprise siblings, wow what a piece of work!

This will leave you wanting more, an I hope that we get Wyatt’s story next, I think that is going to be fun seeing those big burly guys admitting and accepting what is right in front of them.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has pain, lots and lots of trouble, secrets, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Retreat (Getaway, #1)
Shelter (Getaway #2)
Escape (Getaway, #3)

This is Tennyson (Ten) and Webb’s story. Trouble is the one constant that Webb can could on besides his brother. He seems to always find trouble. But the trouble he finds himself in this time just might be too much for even him. He found a woman he can’t stop thinking about but now that trouble found him again can he drag a woman into it? Ten knows all about Webb and his knack for finding trouble but this time she knows he is in over his head. She is willing to help but also thinks she should keep her distance. Both a little broken from different things in there past can they figure out a way to co-exist to help each other out? What happens when they fall will it help them or hurt them in the end? Digging into the past might help them but will it give them all the answers they need to help with the current trouble Webb found himself in? Seems trouble might not be done with either one of them and they will have to figure out a way to overcome the trouble once and for all.

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

Western romance novels will never be the same for me. Jay’s cowboys are DAMN SEXY! I love every second of everyone of her books. This one is of course, amazing! Webb and Ten are two people who have had a hard life and deserve a HEA. There are definitely some twists and turns in the story. This one sit read will have you on the edge of your seat! If you love big brooding cowboys, give this one a shot! Make sure you read all of the books in The Getaway series so you can have ALL of the sexy cowboys 😍😍😍

Seguramente soy yo, no ella.

4.5 Stars. I enjoyed this one a lot more than I expected. The evil twin plot was a lot of fun. I especially liked getting to know Webb and Ten. So much to uncover about them both. This one was a really great journey. I was sad to see it end.
