This boxed set includes: Double-Sided Magic, Obsidian Magic, Renegade Magic, Rogue Magic.
Double-Sided Magic
I am Levy Michaels. Once my kind were the hunters—now we are the hunted.
Supernaturals are out of the closet but I have to stay hidden because of the type of magic I possess. I’m a Legacy. It sounds like the title should come with reverence, a trust fund, or at the very least a cool backstory—instead it comes with a death sentence.
I have to hide in plain sight and pretend to be just human. I’m pretty good at it. I live a simple and somewhat normal life, and I work in antique acquisitions. Everything’s going fine until a dangerous and enchanted dagger that was once in my possession is stolen. I didn’t think things could get any worse until I woke up next to a dead shifter, fae, and mage, without any memory of the past twenty-four hours.
Considered guilty of murder by most of the magical community and humans, I must work with Gareth, the sexy and dangerous leader of the Supernatural Guild. If he’s as good as rumored, it’s only a matter of time until he discovers the truth about me—then being found guilty of murder is the least of my worries.
Obsidian Magic
The only thing standing between me and death is my secret.
I’m a Legacy—a secret I’d planned on taking to my grave. Gareth, the enigmatic leader of the Supernatural Guild, knows it, but can I trust him to keep it? When mysterious deaths occur as a result of magic that mimics my own, I no longer have to worry about Gareth exposing me – it will be one of my own that does. Another Legacy is causing the chaos, and I’m forced to hunt my own kind. It seems simple, but we’ve existed for as long as we have because we’re better hunters than prey.
I’m forced to work with Gareth to clear my name and find the Legacy responsible. Not only is my secret about to be revealed—so is his. Gareth is much more dangerous than I expected. Is he my friend or my enemy?
Renegade Magic
Secrets have consequences—and so do truths.
I’ve been outed as a Legacy and there’s nothing I can do but deal with the aftermath. I thought I could handle it—I was wrong. The city is in chaos, and I have more enemies than allies. Some that I once called allies have quickly become my betrayers.
Just when I didn’t think things could get any worse, Conner resurfaces and he’s ready to make everyone pay. Especially me. He’s the least of my worries: a supernatural assassin has been brought in to kill all the Legacy—and he’s good at his job. One by one we are being killed off. Gareth, my only true ally, has his own problems dealing with another group that is set on ridding the world of supernaturals. Unless I can get the assassin before he gets me and Gareth can stop an organization bent on xenophobic destruction, we don’t stand a chance in hell of surviving this.
Rogue Magic
No one said life was going to be easy, but mine just keeps getting harder.
My best friend has been abducted by a madman who seems to have returned from the dead with the sole goal of seeking revenge against me. She’s my friend, but she’s also essential in finding a cure for a virus that has the potential to destroy the supernatural world.
McKenzie Hunter is the author of urban fantasy, dark fantasy, and paranormal romance books. She discovered early that new adventures were just a page-turn away; all she had to do was read a book. She’s had her share of escapades from hanging out with vamps, joining the chaos of shifter packs, creating spells with witches, and avoiding deals with the fae.
When she isn't working on her next book, she’s reading, binge-watching TV, or disappearing into her own world during nature walks (probably on the lookout for magical beings—or maybe not).

Actual rating 4.5! This is a great book for anyone who really loves snarky, tough main characters, urban fantasy tropes, and action scenes. Levy’s adventures make for a compelling read, and I enjoyed watching to her escape deadly games.
Levy is about as snarky and tough as they come, never bending and refusing to compromise. Gareth is a great love interest, but I was actually a huge of Savannah’s loyal heart and the vampire Lucas. I would have loved more time with them, since Levy’s constant bickering with Gareth kind of drove me crazy at times.
The lore of the Legacy and new supernatural creatures felt fresh and familiar all at once. I liked the idea and wanted a little more depth to it, since it was a compelling history.
The action scenes were inventive and fun and unexpected, with Levy facing all kinds of supernatural enemies like they were no big deal.
I found this to be a great deal for any fans of urban fantasy and quippy protagonists!
Welcome to Legacy, where Livy, her friends and many enemies. Live, love, fight and die. I got the box set and advice everyone to get the set, as acouple of the books are cliff hangers plus you will want to see what happens next as soon as possible. Livy is a Legacy a magic user thought to have been killed off after some of them tried to kill off All others who had any supernatural blood, even humans who never knew till they were dieing. An alliance between humans and other supernaturals ended the war. Follow Livy as she tries to stay alive, with several groups trying to kill her, an Physcopath trying to recruit her and Gareth a cave lion shifter dividing his time between threatening to arrest, flirting and stalking her. Really fast paced action, romance and mystery. A must read for all who like a really good story.
This was my first time reading McKenzie Hunter and I very much enjoyed them. These books were recommended to me from a group I'm in, on FB. The storyline and world building is different than other multi supernatural books I have read but the main focus is magic. Obviously there was no cliff hangers since I got the boxed set so I just kept on reading. I was very engaged and found myself sneaking in a few pages here and there when I was busy. Now I am into rated R books with very graphic sex scenes, this one was pg-pg13. There was nothing in detail of equipment, just the act of it and not detailed, with that said I still very much loved this book and what the author was going for. Looking forward to reading more by the author.
I liked this author at first. I enjoy the mystery, adventure, humor, chemistry and witty banter between love interest. The tension between love interests is unique in each series. She draws me in and my emotions towards her characters are genuine. The pace of her slow burn in this series was great. I anticipated fireworks in Levy and Gareth’s relationship. I was disappointed when it turned out to be a single fast dwindling sparkler. Sadly, a real sparkler would have lasted longer than the romantic chemistry in this series.
Gareth was a fun and could have been so much more than an afterthought. This series could have an awesome epic adventure, NOT a PNR. I would recommend this series for readers who prefer adventure and sleuthing over romantic connections or spice equivalent to a bell pepper. If you're the ladder and prefer jalapeno spice at any level, than I'd skip this series.
This is my 3rd series with this author and my second disappointment. Unless, she adds Gareth's POV like she did with Ethan, in the Sky Brooks Series, I won't be purchasing any more of her kindle & Audio books.
This series was brought to my attention through an Audible recommendation sample play. It caught my attention very quickly and I immediately downloaded it. I then had to get the ebook to read along with the audio book. I was that hooked that fast. I got my recommendation based on my reading Cursed Word series's by Stephanie Foxe. So if you take my advice and read this series and enjoy it as much as I did, you should check that one out as well. Anyone familiar with Kim Harrison "Hallows" series these two series aren't the same, but give off the same vibe. I'm just really excited to find an author i haven't read before that untested me this much. It's definitely a good read.
I love the book, but it gets repetitive sometimes...
I find the conflict with Conner a bit repetitive and copy-paste. And for Levy's power wanting... she never got the training she needed to be stronger, the fight scene feels like on reply.
I love Savannah, Kalen, Blu, Gareth, and Lucas.
Overall, I love the book, it's amazing.
Toward the 4th book, I debated whether to finish the series or not as I find it tiring to read. But I am glad I did finish it.
Thank you for writing this and I can't wait to start on a new series by McKenzie Hunter.
This series is not very good at all. The author constantly repeats what just happened or reminds the audience of the same things repetitively. She's killed the same character 2 times and then she appears again without any information as to how. The conversation text is really adolescent.
I'm giving it two stars because it is an interesting story/concept but it's poorly written. If I wasn't listening to it in audio book form in order to waste time at work, I wouldn't have gotten passed the first book.
It was cute. Definitely a YA book. Light spice. Enjoyed the story. It flowed but I feel like there was no real peril. Conner just kept coming back and was like immortal. Yet the FL almost dies, like A LOT. I don’t really understand that part but the ML was good and the chemistry was great. The side characters were cool but the best friend was kinda annoying. I did find myself asking if the male lead would change so that was cool. Overall it’s an entertaining read. It was my inbetween ❤️ It’s a good intro book for YA.
Very interesting stories! Follow the mysteries with all the story twists, humor, action, and romance! Meet Levy, Gareth, Savannah and of course Lucas. Follow the trials of coming out as a Legacy and betrayals by many. Meet many supernaturals and Connor as he tries to change to many things for a world of his own! I throughly enjoyed the books and hope the story and adventures will continue. I do recommend this book book! I give the book 10 stars!
I liked the characters a lot. Levy, Gareth, Lucas, Kalen and the others. I completely bought in to the genuine relationships and their shared goal of ending another cleansing. With that said, I feel that the 4th book was a bit too much. The story could have ended a few chapters earlier. The additional island visit and drama was completely unnecessary. That's the reason for 4 stars.
I listened to the audiobook. This is the first time I've read anything by this author, but it will probably not be the last. I really enjoyed this series - the writing style, the different kinds of magic and magical beings, the snarky heroine, deadly situations, good friends and unexpected turns. I could have done without some repetitions of earlier events or introductions of known characters, but I guess this is the downside of binging a whole series in one go. Absolutely recommended.
I've read all 4 books. They are written well. They did get boring when the writer keeps going over and over repeating the same thing in each book. So I passed over those pages till she got out of her head and back on the subject of what was about happen. The writer seemed to repeat a lot of the same things when talking to herself in the books. The story's were great once she got out of her head. Thank you for sharing all 4 books with all of us readers.
It was better to read the entire series together, than when I read them the first time. With gaps of time between them. I like strong characters, and the series doesn’t disappoint. If I said anything more about them, I’d probably give something away. Come read them for yourself!
The author repeats herself too much in the same book explaining things that have just happened. She also reminds the reader repeatedly of things that have happened or situations with characters. I feel when a small reminder could have been used, she failed to give one
I wasn't completely sure about this series at first. I thought the story was good but it just didn't hold my attention. But I hoped it would get better and it didn't disappoint! Levy is a great female lead. Not whiny or dependent like a lot if them are. Highly suggest you give it a try at least!
Once I started I just couldn’t stop reading until I finished the entire Legacy series. As usual, McKenzie Hunter’s characters grab you and simply won’t let go. I would love to be able to read Samantha and Lucas’ story in the future to see how their relationship unfolds from here (hint, hint). Levy’s character has dimension, strength, vulnerability and all the inherent flaws that make someone truly memorable!
I really enjoyed this series. New take on supernatural world. Savannah is my favorite character . but the whole series was great adventure with action romance and some parts were funny. It series you will want to cone back and find out how it is going for the characters. Nicely written .
This is spell binding, edge of the seat read. I loved every minute. If you love romance, suspense, sparky witty comments and a story line that keeps you turning the pages. I defiantly recommend this series. McKenzie Hunter doesn't just write books, she creates world and shows you then and the story. Love this series x
I really enjoyed this series, and the adventures in the series. The characters were well described and the scenes vibrant in writing, as well as in my minds eye. I’d read other series of books by this same author in the future. Good read, I’d recommend this series, definitely.
Mostly a good series so far... i just can't stand her wishy washy decision making. She doesn't truly stand behind her own beliefs and constantly gets distracted by a werewolf im in the 3rd book and taking a break cause it's not realistic for her to let a boy make her forget what her gut is telling her.
I knew there was something wrong after the first book when i could put it down. It wasn't gripping. There is no plotline, no sequence, just writing until it stops and a lot of repetition.
The Legacy Series, by McKenzie Hunter, is a unique, fast-paced read with entertaining, well developed characters. The repartee between the lead characters was clever and often just plain hilarious. I highly recommend the entire, four-book series.
I didn't want the story to end. So amazing and exciting to read. I loved the characters and their constant joking around. Loved Levys super hero references. You are an amazing story teller McKenzie Hunter.
This is another great series about the fantasy of magical creatures. Love how the series flow and continue to build you up as you wait for the next apocalypse in the story line. Look forward to seeing more.
This is the very top read I have had since early childhood! Packed with adventure, great characters, and mystery galore; this set will have you staying up to read and greet the dawn in!
I zipped through all 4 books in 2 days. Sometimes I got a little confused with all of the different characters, but I straightened it out. I think that McKenzie Hunter is an excellent author.
I really enjoyed this series... i will say if you're after a book with action and romance then be prepared that it is more on the action and drama side rather than romance... it has a good storyline and i was glad i read it.
I have read all Ms. Hunter’s books. This series was entertaining and I enjoyed reading it. Although, I must say the Sky Brooks series is still my favorite!
Really enjoyed this series. Plenty of magical action and mystery with lots of funny and sad moments. Older readers will find it intriguing and hard to put down. Only wish there were more coming.
Well let me start off that this was a great listen. Easy to follow along with a great story line. I truly like it from beginning to end. For those that haven’t read or listened to them yet. Totally worth it. Enjoy the journey and enjoy the read! ❤️📚!!!
