In this supernatural mystery, Cassandra Fuller, 15, is increasingly anxious about the unresponsive new girl, Lin Jasandy. After the family arrives in town, strange things happen. Cass's friend George breaks his leg in a fall but claims he was pushed, and she is shadowed by a haunting presence that whispers things like "Stay away."
Extremely compelling and spooky story. Cass meets a strange new school mate, Lin. She's from Europe and has come to town with her father recently. She wants Cass to "stay away". From where or what? The small family has moved to Midnight Place. Lin's father seems to be a kind of collector. Things get strange when school fellows of Cass act strange or fall ill. Cass herself has some bizarre experiences. What is going on and what has Lin to do with it? Here you get a very sinister story that starts slow but the tension grows until we come to the nailbiting climax. Typical Charles L. Grant slow cooking horror story with fine eerie ingredients. I liked the novella and can highly recommend reading it!
If I could give negative stars this book would get -10. Nothing like constant rambling about extensive background on the situation and characters but absolutely nothing on the villains!!!
By far the worst of his books. I can see why he isn’t popular reading. Dude you totally missed your calling as a English teacher. This not any of the other series will be added to my sons collection.
Summing things up if you want to read blah blah blah then this guy is for you!!! Otherwise they suck. A true horrible series that has no business being in the horror category.
