I wish I could like the independent business woman trope but I always find it lacking
Career driven doesn't mean commitment phobe so why all the independent ladies be like I don't do commitment or relationship I just do flings or sex , it's gives people a misleading idea about those women and that family couldn't be reached if a woman chose to have a career
And I hated the heroine with a passion, she represents everything i hate in a human being, well not everything but
She was the person i tried not to be
She slept with women in her college days just to turn her mother hair gray her words not mine
She started being promiscuous and slept with tons of men and had a lot of one night stands just to prove to her father that women could have sex without emotion
And she hated that part of herself her words not mine . She wasted a part of herself for nothing, she been having therapy for 5 years . And still having problems .
I couldn't connect with her , I always found people who act in a way just to piss off other people or to prove them wrong weak and pathetic , maybe I should sympathize with them but I can't ,i saw people destroying themselves this way , they know its wrong but they still walk that road.
I will not hate on the author but this book simply wasn't for me , couldn't relate and honestly I only finished this book because it was recommended and wanted to give my friend my honest thoughts

Heather O’Keith is known for being a ruthless CEO, and for getting what she wants but when a night out finds her waking up in bed with Clay, with a diamond on her left hand and a marriage license in her bed, she struggles to decide what to do. Clay Steele is also known for his business wisdom, but when he wakes up next to the ‘’ice queen” Heather O’Keith, he finds himself hoping for more.

The best of the series so far, as finally the MCs have chemistry and make minimal sense together. I would love to read more about their first night together, that would be entertaining..

I feel like this could have been better because there really was development of the characters and their relationship. But it was part of a series and the epilogue was the set up for the next book, which I hate, and that’s just one example of how it was really treated like a stepping stone along a large story arch. But wasn’t a story arch.

She at least wasn’t a 23 year old assistant. So trite. No, she was a capable leader. Not the “biggest baddest CEO around” but we don’t see that. She is in a car and plane and hotel a lot. Like, a LOT. Not a boardroom or office. And we were never told her age. I guess so she can appeal more broadly than just to the 23 assistant set.

He seemed younger. Had a tortured background of loss. By comparison she came from a flighty family. They made a good pair. Weird though how they’re never just a normal one - it’s always both.

There were some editing glitches. A sextant is an instrument for measuring distances. A group of six is a sextet.

It’s stripping, not striping.

And in chapter 21:

“She screamed. Which she would deny outright later because Heather O’Keith didn’t do something as uncouth as shriek like a banshee in bed.

But it had definitely been a scream.”

Good for her! But she also screamed in chapter 12. And this makes it seem new. Make it a big deal the first time, not the second. Continuity.

Overall it was a good read. Probably won’t read more of the series.

I really enjoyed this and smiled quite a bit, but it just felt like something was missing.

First, I loved Clay. He was a great hero - smart, strong, kind, sexy. I thought he was steady throughout and it was easy to like him. My only issue is that I would have loved more on his family story since it clearly had a major impact on him.

Heather was likeable too - smart, successful, kind. But as with Clay, I wanted more on why she approached relationships the way she did and felt unloveable. She was the kind of woman you could easily want to be friends with.

The other thing missing was that, even though this is a standalone, the story starts with them already interacting and I like reading about initial meetings. I felt like it would work better if I had read the other stories first, so this didn’t feel too much like a true standalone. Add to that, the epilogue was setting up the next story and I was disappointed.

A strange combination of enemies-to-lovers and insta-love. I usually enjoy the married in Vegas trope but this fell flat. The MCs were pretty 2-dimensional and I didn't feel like I got to know them so I didn't really care about them. And much of the storyline - including their 'business' - had a generic feel. It all felt like the author dashed it off quickly and didn't take time to flesh out the details.

of the 3 Billionaire's Club series books I've read, this was my favorite.

I loved heather the hard-charging CEO falling for her equal in Clay (not a pornstar) Steel.

I just didn't like the end, hence the 3 stars. The ending was messy and made no sense how/why they came back together. It felt rushed and nonsensical.

I'm sorry but these two never had a chance....to not be together. From their drunken night, to waking up married the next morning, the flirty texts and dirty flirting, Heather and Clay were inevitable. I enjoyed the entire journey and loved their HEA!

This book is hard to rate because it is quite short so there wasn't a lot that happened and there were some things that could have been explored a lot deeper, however it's still a somewhat fun read. I enjoyed that both the heroine and hero were successful business owners and that they were put on equal footing. Normally you have the heroes in charge of some billion dollar company whist the heroine has a small but "successful" shop or something or you have the author put in a scene where the hero either humiliates the heroine or puts her in her place for some reason, so it was refreshing to read about two bosses in similar situations. I also liked what we saw of the character of the hero and heroine and whilst I didn't feel the off the charts chemistry, their relationship made sense because they were pretty compatible. However, we don't get to know a whole lot about their character because of how short this book is and I think it would have been better if we could have explored how their pasts dictated who they were today and them both slowly letting go of their phobia to commitment.

There are a couple of things the author wrote about the heroine that completely confuse me though. We're told that the heroine had an unstable upbringing due to her parents, that they both have kids with multiple people, her dad is misogynistic and her mum believes women need to find good men, get married and have their babies or maybe she only had that expectations of her own daughter it wasn't clear. Because of this, in her early twenties the heroine had relationships with women to piss off her mom and slept around with guys to piss off her dad. That in its self could have been interesting if the author explored it more but it's the choices after this the author makes that confuse me.

The heroine says she had sex and full on relationships with multiple women in the past but says whilst she did feel some attraction do them she was only with them to prove a point to her mom about heteronormative thinking and that there was something missing and that something was a penis. I find this entire thing bizarre and there is no logical reason the author would add this because it adds nothing to the story and doesn't tell us all that much about the character other than she would do things out of spite, but that could have been told to us without all this. It would have been a lot more interesting and made more sense if the author would just have had the balls and made her heroine bisexual with a preference for men because I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about what she wrote rubs me the wrong way.

The next thing is that after she gives up being with women she starts sleeping around with men because her father thinks that only men can have sex without emotion, and she wanted to prove a point. She then is ashamed of all the men she's slept with and decides to go celibate and has been going to therapy for the last five years or so. This raises up so many questions for me. Why is she ashamed of how many people she slept with? She's in her twenties and as long as she was being safe she's free to do what she wants and she's not the only woman who does it. Why does she need some sort of "tragic backstory" to why she slept around? She was young and busy with school and work and didn't have time for a relationship but happened to enjoy sex. You know the reason hundreds of other authors use to have heroes who have slept around or are currently sleeping around. Also, why was she in therapy? Because she slept around? Because she made life decisions based on what would spite her parents? Because neither of those reasons require years long therapy that is never bought up again in the narrative. Seriously though what was the point of bringing this stuff up if it's never explored or even relevant to the story?

I do wish this book was longer and the characters were explored deeper because this book could have been really interesting, however like I said it's a fun short read and kills the time if that's what your looking for.

While this review is of a singular book, the book I downloaded is a compilation of the first three books of the Billionaire’s Club Series and one novella never before released. The name of the book I downloaded is Bad Billionaires.Bad Husband:

Heather, a ball-buster in the boardroom, O’Keith actually had emotions as she said goodbye to her friends who had become part of her family. It was by happenstance that Clay Steele, drunk at the moment and determined to get even more so, noticed Heather dab at her eyes when those people pulled away. Through a short conversation, Heather decided that they were going to properly get drunk and then she would drop Clay at his hotel, but that is not what happened. When she awoke, she found that she was naked and had a diamond ring on her finger and a marriage certificate signed by her and the man next to her, Clay Steele. They both agreed an annulment was in order, but they could not agree with who’s lawyer would take care of it, so the games begin.

This third installment in the Billionaires Club Series has a probably all too common starting point, marriage in Los Vegas, U.S.A., but from there, it takes its own direction. The physical world-building lacks detail, but there is enough to let the reader know where the MCs are. The ethereal world-building is personal and abundant. The character interaction is enough to communicate the actions of the characters, and character history is filled in as the story progresses.

WARNING: ADULT CONTENT: Even through misunderstandings, this story has a feel-good HEA. I give this romantic writing four stars out of five stars.

Bad Husband is book 3 in the Billionaire's Club by Elise Fabre.
The story is told from both MC's POV, and tropes are workplace, married in Vegas, enemies-to-lovers, and Billionaire.
I enjoyed listening to this audiobook, but it didn't draw me in, and I wasn't super eager to continue listening. It's a quick, fast-paced, entertaining novella.
The ending felt rushed and unrealistic. It felt like the author had to rush it because it needed to be a novella. I think the story would be better if it were a full-length romance because I enjoyed the author's writing style and the storyline. Some things just needed more depth.

Avery Caris did a great job narrating the audiobook. She brought both Heather and Clay to live. I usually prefer dual narration, but I didn't miss a male narrator in this audiobook.

The beginning of this book was a bit fast and slow at the same time and unfortunately, out of the first 3 books in the series, this was my least favorite - just because I was kind of waiting for the climax. I appreciated the story because it went through the motions of a new relationship slow and steady but I think the best part of the book - where I got my butterflies - came from the last two chapters.

Another thing that I wasn’t a big fan of was the fact that the Epilogue was not about the main characters as they usually are - it was interesting that it was about someone else and it sets up the next book great but I wasn’t yet finished with Clay and Heather....

I'm so surprised by how much I liked this book.
as the previous ones, well–you can tell there's not that much substance in this, like everything goes pretty smoothly and fast, even the main conflict resolves in one chapter, but I don't mean that as a mean critique. the book is still enjoyable, I liked these characters, liked how they started to be with each other, it was nice.

im almost, ALMOST kind of wanting to read the next ones lol

I found this book funny. They used to hate each other and a moment of vulnerability and they realize there is more than just fierce competitiveness between the two of them. They both tried to deny it, but it's inevitable. That's what you get when you have a stubborn insanely independent woman trying to find love in her fiercest competitor. They change a drunk night into a place to be better for each other and to help find better companies to invest in.

Where did the story go??

I just finished Bad Husband and I am sort of confused. The story was perking along, the male and female main characters were getting along, then a wrench got thrown in the mix. From that point forward, the story went off the rails.. Things related to the “wrench” were needing to be resolved or explained but then BOOM…the epilogue pops up. What?!? As said…I am confused.

I started out loving this book...a little bit of Love/Hate. Freenemies vibe turning into something sigh worthy and then towards the and it seemed a bit rushed and things kind of got a bit messy...but it was worth of the time I spent reading it.

A quick to read romance that hits the spot on desire, need, reluctance, miscommunication, resistance and happily ever after. Frenemies that get married and in the end work it out and fall in love. Steamy but not too over the top!

A very quick read, but a good read. Heather and Clay were a cute couple. Fun really. Smiled throughout the book. This was my second read in this series and by this author. Enjoy the writing style. Clay and Heather are two successful professionals with family drama. A fun read.

Bad Writer

Mostly sex scenes and foul language, this is a book without a plot. One star is too generous a reward for this drivel. I will avoid this author at all costs in the future! Ugh.
