BURN: is the first full length romance book by new to me author Alexandra Silva's 'Virtues and Lies' series. In this we meet Leo, Cassie, and our secondary characters Christoffer and Arabella.
God where to start 🤔 this book had so many layers to it, twists and turns, secrets and lies, layers upon layers that needed to be unraveled before we could get to the true essence of the story, which is what I loved the most about this book. Never knowing what was going to come at us next. This did take me a bit to get into, and some scenes didn’t really end before a new scene started up. Hence my 4 stars. But that didn’t take away my enjoyment whilst reading this.
It starts off when a dearly loved family member died within Cassie's family, a shadow of doubt speculating whether the death wasn't by natural causes and from this point onwards you are sitting on tenterhooks as anxiety and situations that arose had you sitting on the edge of your seat awaiting to see which direction the author was going to take you in.
It was round about this time when they first became fixated on each other when their eyes landed on the other amongst a crowded auditorium. But that wasn't the first time Leo had been intrigued with Cassie.
❝ My fascination with her runs deeper than an addiction. She is a high that runs so deep that it's making me crazy. My mind has no anatomy. ❞
From this point onwards they uncanningly seemed to always be bumping into each other. The attraction was instant, you could feel it sizzling off the pages, ready to combust. ❝ The girl is a Buttercup. Beautiful to look at but poisonous when it gets inside you. ❞
I loved our heroine and dirty talking alpha hero Leo, ❝ I can't help but imagine all the ways I want to f#ck her. All the ways I could mark her body as I make it mine. I want to bite her, lick her, kiss her and eat her. I want every part of me inside every part of her.❞ the light to his dark, the terrifying situations they were thrown into, but throughout Leo always protected his buttercup queen. The secondary characters also made an impact and I can’t wait to see where the next book takes us.

WOWSA!! What a fantastic read!!
This book had me power reading until 2am because I had to know what was coming next. Packed with emotions, heat and plot twists that had my heart pounding I loved it. Gah! I never wanted it to end!
The sexual chemistry in this book is H.O.T!! 🔥🔥 New panties kind of hot.
And can I just say that epilogue has me ready to bribe the author to write faster so I can have book 2!!!

I had such a great time being in the company of Leo, Cassie, Christoffer and Arabella. Burn was a thrilling and entertaining story that kept me glued to the pages. I simply couldn’t get enough of these characters.
The story kicks of with a death and from that point on it’s full steam ahead. Cassie and Leo are freaking amazing and intoxicating. From their first stare off to them slowly getting to know one another to them getting involved emotionally and intimately. Their chemistry is off the charts hot and Leo has a deliciously dirty mouth. A catnip of mine and couldn’t stop drooling and wishing I was in Cassie’s shoes.
Leo has a few skeletons in his closet and they have made him the man he is today. Flawed, tough and ruthless and when it comes to Cassie it’s doubled cause he will do anything to make sure she’s safe and his. I didn’t like Cassie at first. She came off as a little naive but she slowly comes out of her shell and finds her voice thanks to Leo.
Burn has its twists and turns along the way and I enjoyed that cause it sets up book 2 perfectly. An ending I didn’t expect but am so excited about cause I get to be with these characters for another book.

What a wild and intriguing ride! Burn is the kind of story that leaves you on the edge of your seat, trying to guess what will happen next. Leo is a fabulous brooding hero with an initial mysterious connection to Cassie's family. Once she realizes he is "around," her draw to him is immediate and intense and though he tries to stay away, he is just as enraptured by her. They have great banter and their sexy times...whew! Incredibly hot! The background of corrupt and unscrupulous corporate practices adds some suspense and uncertainty to the story that makes me want more. The secondary characters are built up amazingly and I'm that much more invested in the next book! This book has heartache and revenge and drama and I am here for it. 5 stars for this titillating read!

Burn by Alexandra Silva is book One in the Virtues & Lies series. This starts the story of Leo and Cassie. Cassie has a very protective family who keep her in the dark of somethings. Leo is someone who when he first sees Cassie he is smitten with her but stays in the shadow due to who he is and what he is doing. But once she does notice him she can't seem to forget him now either. But danger is near for both of them and their feelings just won't be stopped.
Loved their story and can't wait for the next installment in this series that gives us the story of Christopher, Cassie over protective brother.

This book took me on one hell of a roller coaster. Alexandra's writing is powerful, beautiful and hard hitting. I was so invested in Cassie and Leo's story. Passion, action, drama, betrayal. This book has it all and more. I'm addicted to this series!

WOW...what an incredible start to the Virtues & Lies series. Alexandra Silva is a new to me author and I was captivated by her words.
In Burn, we are introduced to Leo and Cassie, the main characters to this amazing story. I loved the chemistry between these two, as it was off the charts. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series because I'd like to know what happens with Arabella and Christopher.

Alexandra Silva’s writing will devastate your existence while reading this book. Be prepared to walk around in a book haze where nothing else matters, but Leo and Cassie and the tangle of lies mixed with secrets that rule their world. Leo is drawn to her. He knows that he must protect her at all cost. Cassie cannot explain why she needs Leo so desperately, like he’s a part of her. Cassie craves it all, his fear, his lust, his pain, everything.
Leo knows he shouldn’t let her too close because where there’s fire someone’s liable to burn. Unique, suspenseful story with thrilling twists, juicy sex scenes and heart wrenching emotions.

Burn is the first book I have read by Alexandra Silva. I received it as an ARC. This will not be the last book I read by this author. I was literally transported into this story line, I lost myself in the book. This was not just a book, it was a true story.
When I first met Cassandra, I thought she was your stereotypical princess, spoiled and had no backbone. WOW, was I wrong. As I got to know her I found she has this inner strength inside her that comes out when least expected. Typically I struggle to connect with such a young character, however Cassie/Cassandra was so easy to love and connect with. I found myself shouting out loud YOU GO GIRL!!! She loves hard and isn't afraid to stand up for herself or the people she loves.
Leo...Leo oh man Leo. Leo in my opinion is what you call a beautiful disaster. He thinks he is a monster, not worthy of love/happiness. Someone who has a dead soul. Nothing could be further from the truth. Leo loves hard, he loves with all is heart and soul, he loves his woman more than he loves himself and will do whatever he needs to protect her and the ones he loves.
I can't wait to read more of this series and more by Alexandra Silva. Amazing story, amazing words, just amazing!!

When Cassie spots a man across the room that immediately holds her attention, she feels it, a tingle of awareness. She doesn't know who he is, just that there is something about him that makes her want to know him more. The next time she sees him is when they literally bump into each other, for those brief moments that he touched her left a lasting impression. But what do you do when the man you're crushing on, well more than crushing more like in love with from afar, tells you to stay away and treats you as if you are a little girl.... normal people stay away. The more Cassie learns about Leo the more she wants him... but will Leo be willing to risk her safety?
So this was like Alice falling down that rabbit hole, there was no real reason stated for anything that was going on. Like watching a James Bond movie, trying to figure out just what was going on at certain points, this book was full of suspense, with no real answers. A cast of characters that at times felt like we were supposed to know who they were when they popped up. The story itself was action packed, drama loaded, and some really well done naughty bits. I give this 3.5 stars.

Burn is the first book of Alexandra Silva’s series Virtues & Lies. This book was sexy, steamy with a touch of mystery and suspense. There’s many secrets revolving around Cassie and Leo’s lives. A few twist and turns. Trying to find out about them keep me turning the pages.
Cassie and Leo’s sexual chemistry was fire. They both passionate about each other. Leo’s love for Cassie has no boundaries.
Leo is tough, all power and mysterious. The secrets in his life has made him the dark, brooding and scared man he is now. Still he is sexy as F. When it comes to Cassie he has no control. He will go to any length to keep Cassie safe.

I am a little gobsmacked right now at the level of skill that this author has in her debut book. Was it perfect? No. However, it was in the imperfections that I saw promise because her ability to see the bigger picture and draw it out, thus drawing me her reader in, was astounding. She reeled me in as if I was a fish that wanted to try living out of the water.
I will admit there were times that I was pulled out of the story or confused but it was not enough to deter me from trying to figure out what was going on with Cassie and Leo. The chemistry between these two, sweet Lord. And the steam, let's just say that If I was a nun there would be no amount of Hail Mary's that could be said that would prevent me from punching that one-way ticket to Hell with the salacious thoughts I was having.
There are still a lot of answers and closure needed in the coming book(s) but if that epilogue is anything to gauge how amazing the next book is going to be then I am all aboard this crazy train because holy hell did that ending say angst and revenge.

Boy, this one is a real page turner that will steal your breath and your heart. I thought that Cassie and Leo were just EVERYTHING!! I adored these two. Their attraction is obsessive, the chemistry sizzles and the steam is blistering. It is also very easy to also feel the sweetness and tenderness that lives at the center of this remarkable romance. Intense, suspenseful and filled with a mind boggling number of secrets, lies and twists, this addictive read will leave you craving more of this exciting and thrilling roller coaster ride of emotions. Book two can't come soon enough! I am posting an independent, impartial review.

Burn is the first book in the Virtues and Lies series. To be honest I'm not sure how to describe the story. From the synopsis I thought it was going to be a drama filled love story and it is but also so much more. I am hesitant to say anything that will give away the plotlines. The story is full of intrigue and mystery and so many secrets. Cassie and Leo are like magnets that are drawn to each other, the chemistry between them is insane. The secondary characters play such a huge part of the story and with Christopher's book next I can't wait.

I was given an ARC of Burn, not knowing anything about the author, just that it was recommended and sounded like it might be something I’d like. Well...let me just say that I didn’t just like this book, I freaking LOVED it, was completely wrung out emotionally to the point that I had to reach out to the author and let her know how amazing this book was. Not only was I up late reading, going to work on just a few hours sleep, but I made sure to leave early enough to read a few minutes before I started my day. I walked into my office crying with tears gushing down my face. This book is THAT good!
Leo and Cassie’s story will leave you wanting more and we find out that Alexandra is going to fulfill that need by giving us Chris and Belle’s story next. If Burn is any indication of what to expect I know it’s going to amazing, emotional and gut wrenching too.

From the very beginning I was intrigued with just what was going on in this story; hook, line and sinker! However, I spent quite awhile wondering just what was going on, snippets of information being dropped and yet things were still a bit confusing. All I knew was that I had to find out what it was all about, I needed to find out, it became a must to find out! I just wanted to scream, “Tell me the truth!”
This story is basically the slow burn romance between Cassandra Sinclair and Leo Fairfax however there is a mystery behind the families with its great suspense, drama and action which ensures you feel every emotion the characters go through in each scene.
This author really knows how to set up a scene, the descriptions used leave no doubt in your mind what is happening, making it so easy for your own personal story reel of events to keep spinning. As well, the character descriptions are on point, so much so it’s so easy to fall in love with the lead characters Leo and Cassandra as well as the secondary ones except for the evil ones! These characters, through their descriptions are just as easy to dislike immensely and immediately.
The twists and turns are phenomenal and help to make this one sensational story. I’m already looking forward to the next book!

Alexandra Silva can BURN me anytime 🔥
I knew I would be in for a bumpy ride, but what I didn't know is that Leo would steal my heart. He was all things swoony where Cassie was concerned and I loved his unwavering devotion to her. These two were on fire together and as time went on, it was obvious their connection was on another level neither could walk away from.
Cassie is naive and I have to admit that bothered me. Her family sheltered her from so many things, her safety was always their main concern. With that said, I really enjoyed watching her blossom as time went on. Leo brought out a side of her that needed nurturing by the right person. Leo IS the man for the job. Cassie wanted to be Leo's equal and her sass and spunk started to shine the more time they spent together.
This is a great start to a series I'm so excited to lose myself in. It's HOT and sexy with the perfect amount of mystery and intrigue. Alexandra will push your buttons and the spectrum of emotions will tear you apart. There is a lot more to come and I can't wait for more ❤️❤️

These two were on fire together and as time went on, it was obvious their connection was on another level neither could walk away from.
Cassie is naive and I have to admit that bothered me. Her family sheltered her from so many things, her safety was always their main concern. With that said, I really enjoyed watching her blossom as time went on. Leo brought out a side of her that needed nurturing by the right person. Leo IS the man for the job. Cassie wanted to be Leo's equal and her sass and spunk started to shine the more time they spent together.
This is a great start to a series I'm so excited to lose myself in. It's HOT and sexy with the perfect amount of mystery and intrigue. Alexandra will push your buttons and the spectrum of emotions will tear you apart. There is a lot more to come and I can't wait for more ❤️❤️

Burn has a mystery cover and I was really curious about this book. When I started read it I knew, that I will need the bottle of whiskey and the second book in the series. Unfortunately I had only whiskey.
I really like Leo Fairfax. He is the protector for Cassandra Sinclair – CEO's daughter one of the bigest security enterprise. He isn't afraid to safe her life, even he will must sacrifice yourself.
Why?
Because he loves her.
And she loves him.
But they can't be togheter.
This book is a normal story with two people which can't be happy together.
But Burn has one really strong point – chemistry.
The tension, desire and chemistry between Leo and Cass is unbeliavble!
OMG.
I was reading this book not for story, but for them. For this prohibited feelings, which they share.
I am a virgin with Alexandra Silva books and Burn was my first story written by this author, but I really need more! Unique story with twists and juicy sex scenes. This is all what you need to be happy while you are reading.

Until all that’s left is ashes and blood. Until we burn. And everything certainly did burn. Leo has been watching Cassie for what feels like forever, and Cassie feels like she's always being watched but by who. Alexandra Silva is a totally new author to me and one I hope to come back to again and again. In Burn (Virtues & Lies #1) we meet Leo and Cassie, as well as other characters I believe, are important to the series as it progresses.
There is so much chemistry in this book that it will literally burn you from the inside out. With so many twists and turns along the way that I didn't even anticipate this story kept me on the edge of my seat, and with an epilogue surrounding two of the other secondary characters from the first book, Christopher and Arabella I really can't wait to see where the next book takes us.

This is the 1st of a new series and it is also the first time I have read any of this author’s work, and I will certainly be looking out for her in the future. Cassie is instantly attracted to Leo when she spots him across the room, and this is the sort of hair tingling connection whenever he is in the vicinity. When they bump into each other again Cassie cannot resist Leo and the more she gets to know him the more she wants him, and this is despite him warning her to stay away from him. This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster, and has intrigue, suspense, drama, and is an action-packed steamy read. I cannot wait to read the next book, and I recommend for all.

Each meeting after that is a slow build to a combustible exchange. Leo Fairfax is definitely sexy and deserving. Cassie Sinclair was a hard pill to swallow at times. Secrets swirled. Tensions built. The mystery and intrigue intensified the story. So many moving parts to get the mind wondering.

Wow
Wow what an incredible story. I loved it. So much heartbreak but also so much love. Definitely a roller coaster of a ride. I loved Leo and Cassie, what wonderful characters. I can not wait for the next book.
