An action packed novel in the best selling Jack Dillon Dublin Tales series
Madelin was in a Dublin pub listening to music. Now she's missing . . .
By the time US Marshal Jack Dillon and An Garda Síochána DI Paddy Suel get assigned to the case American student Madeline Keller has already been missing for four days.
Her former boyfriend already has an attorney and an alibi.
The school and her girlfriends have absolutely no idea.
I was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, I still live there as well as in Dublin, Ireland. I've been a soldier, freelance journalist, tended bar, sold designer cakes, owned a painting and decorating company along with a number of other schemes and scams. If that doesn't offend you I also play bagpipes with the Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band. All my books stand alone, read them in whatever order you wish. They are filled with the sort of oddballs we are all curious about, but wisely, prefer to keep at a distance. None of my characters will be saving the world from terrorism, international banking conspiracies or coups to take over the government. Rather, they inhabit a world just below the surface of polite society, characters with one foot on either side of the law. The circumstances they find themselves in are usually due to bad decisions, but bad decisions lead to interesting stories. They serve not so much as an example but as a warning to us all. Thanks for taking the time, happy reading.
Jack Dillon searches for a missing American student, at the same time the sister of his partner is assaulted. He pokes around and finds witnesses and cameras, eventually getting to the bottom of things. Some action this time.
Another highly entertaining Marshall Dillon tale. As you undoubtedly know by now, Jack is a US Marshall on (permanent) loan to Dublin. He and his partner Paddy Suel see all sorts of action. On the miner plot action, we have a common thief who they can't seem to catch no matter what they try. Much more serious the Paddy's sister getting brutally raped and beaten and she refuses to tell Paddy who the guy is that did it. The main emphasis, though, is on Madeline, an American college student attending university in Dublin. She has gone missing and it is 4 days before it is even reported. Clues are few and far between. When they finally settle on some suspects, they all have air tight alibis.
Another fine detective novel from Faricy. This is the seventh in his series of Dublin tales starring US Marshall Jack Dillon. I still think I prefer Faricy's private detective stories starring Dev Haskell, because they are more fun than police procedurals. But it is a close call, because the Dublin setting and International flavor (Dillon is from the US, as is the missing girl, while the leading suspect is in Belfast) of the Jack Dillon stories are more interesting than the somewhat parochial setting of the Haskell stories in Saint Paul, Minnesota. So I gave this one a five-star rating--as did a lot of other readers.
Great story idea, modern day Marshall Dillon on loan to the Irish Garda. Since I like Irish mysteries I took a chance and really liked this book. Marshall Dillon is on assignment to Ireland tracking down missing Americans with the help of the Irish police.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, especially the way the author skillfully unfurls multiple mysteries in tandem. Some of the dialog is a bit simplistic and repetitive, but if you're looking for intrigue with surprising twists and without a barrage of horrific violence, I recommend this book. Easy, fast reading.
Well-written page-turner Another excellent installment in the Marshal Jack Dillon series. Thoroughly entertaining & I highly recommend it if you enjoy police procedurals with flair and richly drawn characters.
Once again the American Marshall wins again. I suppose we should acknowledge the assistance of both the Dublin and Belfast law enforcement ... just as the Marshall does.
This was an exceptionally well written novel. I enjoyed the plot and the characters. I'm looking forward to reading more stories with these characters. Thank you Mr. Faricy.
First book of this series for me. I liked the characters and the setting. I usually give four stars for effort and if I enjoyed it. Not a great work of literature but writing was decent, enough personal life brought into the story to make it interesting. For the genre pretty good
Really Great story with Jack and Suel again. Starts with Suel's sister being attacked and a missing American student. Good story and characters really great ending.
Jack and Paddy work on two mysteries. Paddy’s sister is attacked and she won’t say who did it. An American student in Dublin goes missing and they want to find her. A great story.
It’s all about the little things, the tiny details that lead to a breakthrough, that and some luck. Jack is as persistent as ever, winning a conviction out of almost nothing.
A decent story! A slow, steady read. The story of a college student gone missing. US Marshall Jack Dillon along with his partner, Suel, are tasked with finding her.
Another great read from a man who produces only winners. The characters are flawless as is the dialogue. You can never go wrong with Mike Faricy at the helm. Very Highly Recommended.
