1.0⭐️ I had to pass on this for now. Too many things annoyed me in the earlier chapters, most of which involved dialogue that sounds unrealistic, where contractions were few. The story did not flow well, but jumped from one thing to the next with no logical transition.
I DO NOT want to dissuade others from trying it, though. What ticks me off may not do the same for others. I just didn’t have the patience—maybe at another time I’ll give another go.
The "h" worked my nerves so much. Especially when she put their business out there in an important meeting...... "who does that!!!!". You can have it both ways, outspoken and a wimp.....nope
Stephan was a great businessman who his mom called pretty and Sasha thought so too. She was what she considered herself as being a big girl. She was a plus size beauty but didn't think much of herself as far as being someone he would truly interested in. She knew her stuff in advertising and spoke her mind and didn't bite her tongue no matter what or who didn't like it. His mom liked how she was too. They had some drama between them too he tried to help her see what he saw but she fought him every step of the way. She just couldn't wrap her mind around why he would want to be with her especially if he could have any woman he could and a whole lot slimmer than her. She was constantly trying to diet and loose weight her whole life seems nothing was working for her. And she had a best friend who was always there for her no matter what! Even though she was going through stuff herself.
I usually love Katie Downs writing but this book was just down right terrible. They main character acts strong and confident but constantly talks about feeling insecure and losing weight you can’t have both. They way she speaks is regarded as outspoken but she’s is rude and undermines authority especially when she went into the conference room and aired up all their business then has the nerve to ask why he doesn’t want to date until their down with the project. Her eating disorder is not even properly resolved they just had one conversation and it suddenly disappeared. Overall this book was badly written and the protagonist is a terribly written character.
While I did enjoy the book, I feel we never got a proper resolution for her eating disorder. It was kind of glossed over in the end, but was such a big issue for why she couldn't be with Stephan. He even caught her vomiting one time. And I don't think, just having one conversation with one of his friends means that she is cured. She had been dealing with this she was a a young girl. I would love to read a story in this series were the woman's weight isn't such a big issue. Why can't H/h just fall in love and she just happens to be plusize. Anyway thank you for the great read.
This book was ok. On more than one occasion I wanted to stop reading it but opted to see how it ended. I’m not a picky grammar person but some of the writing was just bad.... I couldn’t imagine anyone speaking like this. And the personality of the main character, Sasha, was irritating after a little while. Very rude and disrespectful, even how she spoke about herself. Just over the top. The storyline was decent, but I loved the mother, Elizabeth. Overall, if you didn’t have anything else to read... meh.
It was not hard to see the love of our hero for our heroine from the moment she went on that sexual rant during her ad campaign presentation! Our heroine who is a full figured woman suffered from what most full figured women have spent our lives listening to society say which is we have to be damn near a size zero to be acceptable especially when we are African American. I was a bit taken aback with the Black female reporter who appeared to have a real problem with these beautiful, smart, intelligent, sexy women marrying White, fine, billionaires. Not withstanding while claiming we should all stick to our own race her Black man left her for a White woman. Why can't we all just love who our hearts tell us to love? I get it and hopefully others will too. Another great Member from Money story Ms. Dowe, thank you very much.
The heroine because of her size never thought a man like Stephan could really love her. Love is not just for the thin. Love come in all shapes, sizes and color. When someone truly love you they don't see your imperfections, they just see the person they love. I have not read all of the books in this series, out of the ones I have read this is one of the best, I also find myself going back to read some of the early ones. Nothing like hot sexy rich alpha men. Keep the Members From Money coming.
I loved reading this book! The chemistry between Stephan and Sasha was really Hot, when she would give in to the passion! I loved Elizabeth, Stephen's mom, as well because with everything going on with her, she had a smile on her face and a genuine love in her heart! I believe everyone who reads this book will enjoy it and I definitely recommend this read to everyone!
Katie Dowe has written another wonderful book in her (Members From Money) series. This book is also a well developed read that holds your attention from the beginning to the words the end. She always brings her characters to life and so relatable. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
The author always delivers a riveting romance novel and consistently. It has everything a romance reader needs to make their day. Sasha's character matched her name. She was feisty and fierce!! Stephan delivered for the men and claimed his woman (plus size and all). Overall, it was a good read.
Stephan and Sasha’s relationship took several turns. Body image, cancer, adultery, grief, and but not least ,pressures of having a high powered job, Can lead to a disastrous relationship if not cultivated very carefully. Dowe does a great job of laying each out for the reader. She shows the depth and strength of Sasha and Stephan’s love that pulls on them .
Stephan knew that it was love at first site when he met Sasha. She could not believe that he cared about her because of his status in society and with him usually dating thin model actress types. Stephan had to convince her that his love for her was real and her plus size did not matter.
Even though this couple got on my last nerves, I absolutely loved their story! It was by far one of the funniest books also. I actually laughed a lot. There was even times that I wanted to jump into the book in order to shake Stephan and Sasha until they got it together. Great twist and turns. Highly recommend reading awesome love story!!!
I really enjoyed the love of two people who have the love and passion but doesn't want to admit that this is real the insecurities that abound are real and can't be helped but th love is definitely stronger so yeah I recommend!!!
I enjoyed the love of Stephan and Sasha. It was good to have another man in the picture instead of the woman just crying and waiting for the man to love her. It was also good to see Garrett and his wife.
I loved this romance with a plus size female lead. Sasha and Stephan were perfect for each other. Sasha struggles with her weight through this story. Stephan love her figure as well as her and will do what it takes to show her. Loved this couple and their story.
Ms dowe you have skills with the pin. Love your stories, maybe just once a thriller with this kind of love . With your writing you'll hit it out of the park. I will continue to be fan of you're books .. pls didn't stop thank you.
I loved this book focusing on a more prominent woman. I like the fact that big women can find love too. I have hope that I can find love too. Please write more of these books.
This book was realistic and very practical. There were a few spelling errors. Personally I could do without the very descriptive intimate sciences. It would not have taken away from the book. Thanks for sharing as it was truly heartwarming.
Absolutely enjoyed this book! It been a while since I cried when a couple broke up in a book. Lol. But I cried when Sasha and Stephan broke up. They were fit for one another. No matter how badly they were stubborn! Katie Dowe never disappoint me!
Another great Members book! I love reading the Members Series! I am so happy that Stephan and Sasha realized the love they had for each. Excellent reads! Another5 Star hit!
So this book has brought out so many emotions in me ,some that made me sad,mad and then finally happy. It also had mistakes making reading the story a little difficult.
I absolutely enjoyed reading this story it's fascinating with great characters that burns up the pages. It's funny and exciting plus you will talk to the characters.
This book is very romantic and sweet. The characters are very detailed and the plot will suck you in like a hallmark movie. Beautifully written with strong characters presences over all. This story will melt your heart.
Loved the story and the characters. I would have liked to see a little more exploration along the lines of her starving herself and purging as a plus-size person; however, the story was not incomplete without it. I enjoyed it and do recommend it.
The story of Stephan and Sasha was fun to read. BBQ entering into the world of a billionaire. Some problems were too easily resolved. Good book to pass the time.
My favorite of these series (&I'm reading them in order). I felt the connection and she actually took time to make them connect besides on the physical.
