I really liked the story! It had a lot of feelings stirred up in me. This book made me fear for the character, smile, and cry. I reread this book (and book 1) so many times! The concept of this story is very unique because of how many different feelings were in the atmosphere in this story! When Matt was kidnapped and raped, there were so many details of what was going on, both visually and mentally. (Matt's & Jay's thoughts) I also enjoyed reading the POV of his friends! I could almost clearly see/think how they were feeling. And one of my favorite moments was when even tho Calvin despised Matt for drug overdose he still worried a lot about him and hoped he'd be ok. This series is probably one of my favorites and I can't wait for book 3! (I'm really excited to read about how the characters are dealing with the kidnapping and what Jay is up to!

Surprisingly good.

This is a review for the 2 book set. When I first started reading this set I wondered if I was even going to finish it. Not only did I finish it but I liked it alot. A little warning though. These books have drug use and severe addiction, alcohol abuse , sexual promiscuity (MM) ,severe physical abuse and rape . If you are sensitive to these issues you should read something else. This book is about mental illness and what can happen when it is not addressed. There is love in this book too. Unrequited love, but love none the less. Take a chance, put on your big girl parties and read this. Kudos to MS. Noonan for being sturdy enough to write such a challenging novel !
