First love. Second chances. In Catalina Cove, anything can happen…

When Kaegan returned to Catalina Cove to run the family business, he knew there’d be no avoiding Bryce. The woman he thought he’d one day marry was instead the biggest heartbreak of his life. But when Bryce lets slip a devastating secret, he discovers just how wrong he was to let her go all those years ago.

He knows they both still feel the spark between them, but it’ll take more than attraction to convince her. Kaegan will pull out all the stops to show Bryce he’s the man who can give her the future they once dreamed of—if only they give love a second chance.

Guess what? Yep, the same sexist garbage as ever where the woman is celibate for years while the man fucks around. NOTHING NEW AGAIN!!

"KAEGAN WISHED HE could kiss that shocked look right off Bryce’s face. It was obvious that, over the years, while his level of sexual experience had increased, hers had not. After they’d broken up, he had bedded a number of women to ease his pain and to try to make him forget she’d ever existed. When he’d found that impossible to do, he’d settled down to just bedding women whenever he needed to relieve primitive urges."

Bryce and Kaegan were in love when they were teenagers and had been best friends since they were kids. But Kaegan had misunderstood what had happened one night and left town. When Bryce tried to tell him what had really happened he didn't want to hear it and took off with another woman for payback. Years later they are living back in their hometown and both still care for each other but not admitting it. They have the same circle of friends and they all want these 2 back together. Not to mention that Bryce's parents still care for Kaegan but don't want to get in the middle of their relationship. Once Kaegan realizes how wrong he was then he is going to try to win Bryce over no matter what and get her to forgive him and take him back. But she just wants to be friends with benefits.

oooh this one hurt as I wanted their story from book one when they are introduced to the series
but after 30% of this book, I was just bored and to think that all the issues are in

also while they were broken up and part for 10 years the hero tried a lot of sexual healing while heroine did not...

Finding Home Again was one of my most anticipated reads for the month of October. I've been patiently waiting for Bryce and Kaegan's for a year now and I've been dying to know what the hell happened between these two all those years ago to make them hate one another so much. I was ready to get some answers and hoped that somehow Bryce and Kaegan would be able to work through their issues and find their way back to one another again.

Bryce Witherspoon has loved Kaegan Chambray ever since she was a little girl. As they grew older, their friendship turned into something more and Kaegan planned on making Bryce his forever girl. But a misunderstanding breaks these two apart and for the next ten years, Bryce and Kaegan spend it hating one another. But when Kaegan learns the truth and realizes the error of his ways, will he be able to win Bryce back and make up for lost time or will it have already been too late?

Going into this book, I knew that Brenda Jackson wasn't going to make it easy for Kaegan and Bryce to get their happily-ever-after. I mean, we have ten years of pent up anger and resentment to muddle through here so having some patience was gonna key when it came to this story. Jackson didn't hold back on the anger either because these two were going each other's neck from the very first chapter and neither one was holding back. Not gonna lie, some of the things Kaegan said to Bryce was so out of line that I too wanted to slap him for saying such things. Bryce definitely had more strength and patience than me when it came to Kaegan's attitude. I think Kaegan's behavior is why I grew to like him less in this book. I understand that he felt betrayed but he crossed the line a few times and it was uncalled for. I think my dislike grew once the big secret was revealed and we realized that Kaegan has been mad at Bryce for ten years over a damn misunderstanding. Like if he had let her explain things in the first place instead of shutting her out then they would've been together already. I think I just expected more when the big reveal happened. Although I was underwhelmed by the reveal, we did get to see Kaegan grovel and that made up for some of my disappointment. Bryce was not making it easy for Kaegan and she really took the time to decide whether or not she wanted to go down this road again even if it meant getting hurt a second time. Bryce's ability to forgive is something I admire because I sure as hell have too much pride for that, lol. The romance itself is slow but again this is ten years of baggage we have to unpack but I loved being able to see how Kaegan and Bryce first met and watch their friendship turn to love. Even during the sad moments, I was still rooting for these two to work it out. Towards the end of this story is where things kind of got weird for me. I guess Jackson wanted to add some suspense into the story because all of a sudden we get a villain and Bryce's life is in danger and everything felt rather random. I did not like how this whole situation was resolved either because it felt too convenient and made me wonder what was even the point oif this twist. Despite the slight disappointment, I still enjoyed Finding Home Again and this series as a whole and if you enjoy small town romances, then I definitely recommend giving the Catalina Cove series a read.

This is my first read of the series but was very easy to jump into the story. That said, I had no vested interest in these characters as they were new to me.

There has been 10 years of misunderstanding between Kaegan and Bryce. They are frenimies at best. Mutual friends work hard to convince they to share their truths. I was a little underwhelmed by the reveal. I mean, they were both adults and had been best friends since kindergarten. It seemed silly for them not to talk things through.

Regardless, Kaegan sees the error of his ways and forgives. Bryce--not so willing to do that. Most of the book is the back and forth between them about should we or shouldn't we?? There is some suspense thrown in for a bit of filler. But most of the book is about winning back the love of his life.

Great small town read. Lots of interesting characters. Their friends round out the story nicely. Could have used some beefing up of the story line but overall not a bad read.

This is the story that I have been waiting for because for two books we watched the interaction between Bryce and Kaegan. Bryce is a town sweetheart and Kaegan was the kid with a hard past. The two of them bonded during the time Vashti was away but they also broke up under suspicious circumstances. You know from the start that the two of them are meant to be together; however, as the story progresses things are revealed and understandings come around. I think that the premise of the story is good but the fact that I received an early copy there were too many errors to overlook. I really hope that the story is revised and reformatted before being release to the rest of the world.

This specific video review will be included in the September 2019 wrap-up.

ahhhhh I'm so excited this is the third book ( and hopefully not the final) in the Catalina Cove series and we are going to finally learn just why these two have been angry with each other for ten years. And what a story it was. A second chance romance with a bit of a mystery that makes the couple face their issues and finally admit what they truly feel for each other.

Kaegan, Bryce & Vashit have been best friends since childhood. Kaegan's father didn't believe in education and had kept his son from school, once Bryce's mom found out she pushed the community to get him to go to school and realizing he couldn't hold out against them the old man grudgingly sent his son to school but in doing so Kaegan was two years behind. From the first KGee, nicknamed that because Bryce couldn't say his name, was friends with the girls as the older kids ignored him and the others didn't engage. He's been their protector and friend for as long as they all can remember.

While Vashti was sent away during her pregnancy, Kaegan and Bryce leaned on each other and their friendship bloomed into love. And as with all young lovers untested by life believed that their high school romance would go smoothly into an adult romance. But life and some of the towns' people couldn't leave well enough alone and the young lovers split based on a misunderstanding that bloomed into a bitter fight.

And that fight and bitterness have defined their relationship for the past ten years. After drifting apart Kaegan moved away & Bryce moved on and became a successful business owner. Still angry with each other they have taken every opportunity to swipe at each other since KGee moved back home to Catalina Cove. Their bitter battle has placed Vashti in an awkward position because she knows more about the story from each of them than they know and she keeps trying to get them in the same area so they can air it all out. This tragedy finally comes to a head and they both hurt each other again before separating, finally, Bryce breaks and tells her truth to Kaegan and he's left realizing his actions were based on lies. He's devasted but determined to make it up to her and win her back. Also, I could understand his POV especially with all the misinformation he had been receiving, and the events of that night; Bryce acting as if she can't understand why he was angry doesn't fly. Girl reverse it, you would have lost it and wouldn't have believed him either.

This is a sweet second chance romance, where the couple now have to not only learn about each other as adults but learn to forgive each other for the mistakes they made as their younger selves. It's hard to fight through the past while trying to hang onto the good memories; they both help and hinder them. Kaegan starts a campaign to gain her forgiveness and Bryce is afraid to trust again. Add to this he decided to win her back when she's decided to move on completely, she's trying to find someone who can replace the way Kaegan made her feel and she starts dating. As they try to move on, they just keep hurting each other and I wanted them to just get therapy cause y'all need to work through everything.

I really loved the strength of the friendships in this one, as they were the best sounding boards for both of them as they tried to find their ways back home to each other. Bryce has to learn to trust again and since this man has shown that he can break her heart this is a little harder to do than one would think. I loved that it wasn't an easy journey back to each other, as this means they will appreciate the love more.

However, while they are trying to make their way back to each other, someone has decided to wage a campaign against Kaegan, there are several incidents with each escalating in severity and then the ending happened. Listen ok, I was yelling at the book no no no no don't go, call someone, send a text something anything. it was like watching a horror flick and commenting the whole time. I loved it.

This story flew and I loved that there was tension not only within the relationship but without as well, this kept me engaged and the story flowing well. Giving the characters time to develop and share with us their true motivations. I loved that we had several small stories within as well. We get to see Vashti and Sawyer's family and their progression. We learn what happened to the budding romance between the girl's grandparents while catching up on Ray & Ashley and their growing relationship.

I loved visiting this town again and hope it grows. I would love to see what happens to Jade in a few years.

This book was unnecessarily long and frankly, uninteresting.

I love a good second chance romance. Even more so one where the characters have grown to dislike each other over the intervening years. When I read the blurb for this one, I had such high hopes that it would become a fast favorite. What it became was a huge disappointment.

Let's begin by talking about the little things that hopefully will be fixed before the book goes live, as I did review an advanced-reader-copy. Things that were distracting, but may have been more easily overlooked if the rest of the novel had been stronger. The formatting for the start of each chapter was... weird. Then there were areas where words weren't spaced apart, "showme" and "oneanddone" being two examples. Again, these are things that could be easily fixed.

What can not be as easily fixed is the rest of this novel. There was so much that I feel could have been cut out, and so much that I feel could have been added that would have improved this story.

When it comes to Keagan and Bryce? Their story is so repetitious that it becomes tedious. They dated. They were stupid. (Although honestly Bryce? Your boyfriend comes to your house at 2am, sees you come out with another guy, embrace said guy and lean in like you're going to kiss him - but leaves, before he sees said kiss - and you REALLY can't see how he might have misinterpreted that? Give me a break).

Anyway, the majority of this novel is them going back and forth. They have feelings for each other. They have a spark, but OH MY GOD THEY HAVE HURT EACH OTHER SO MUCH WE MUST KEEP BRINGING THIS UP. It took me over a week to finish this novel because I had to keep putting it down. It was great to read before bed, don't get me wrong, but that was only because it kept putting me to sleep. And I'm just throwing it out there - I'm no prude by any means, but when more than one consecutive chapter is dedicated to them finally having sex? That's a bit much

What might have saved this novel was Bryce's stalker.... if he wasn't added as an afterthought. Seriously. It wasn't until the last few chapters that we were even told she HAD a stalker, with his two dubious attempts at getting to her prior to his reveal being written off as mundane events.

All in all, I believe that another good round or two of editing could have cut out all this tiresome repetition and still left enough for the reader to not only understand but enjoy this novel. While it definitely was not for me, and I don't see myself reading more from this author, I am sure there are others that will love this story.

DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review. This has not affected my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are 100% my own.

This is the third book in a series and it did take me a bit to get invested in the story. There was some background given regarding the other couples in the story, whose stories were told in the previous books, but I wish I had read them first. Having said that, once I got into the story, I did enjoy it a lot.

Bryce and Kaegan were in love when they were teenagers and had been best friends since they were kids. Once they became a couple, they were apart due to school and the armed forces. When a misunderstanding occurs, Kaegan will not even listen to Bryce, this breaking them apart. Ten years later, they are living back in their hometown. The both have buried feelings about each other, but are still angry and do not want to move on them. They have the same circle of friends, who want them to get back together. Bryce's family also love Kaegan, but do not want to interfere. When they are feeling their way back to friendship, Bryce finally gets the opportunity to share what really happened and Kaegan is shocked. He realizes that he was wrong and that they wasted ten years. Can they get over past wrongs? Will they be able to rekindle their relationship? Bryce is happy to remain friends, but Kaegan wants her back.

This was a story of second chances, forgiveness, friendship and romance. I really liked the characters in this story. The group of friends were so supportive of one another and very caring. They had such a strong friendship, one that everyone would love to have. Bryce's family was also very loving and supportive. There were times in the story that I was not very pleased with Kaegan's actions or responses, but knowing his past, it was easy to see why he was not always trusting. Of course, no romance can go easily, there has to be some angst and some hurdles to get over and this story had those. I liked the setting of Catalina Cove, a small town close to New Orleans, a shipping and fishing community. It is a place I would love to visit. The story was well written with characters that were well developed and likable. There was a villain in the story which I was a bit ambivalent about and not sure if it was even a necessary storyline. That is the main reason I gave this story 3.5 stars instead of 4. Overall, a satisfactory story and one that interested me enough that I will go back and read the first two in this series. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book upon request. The rating, ideas and opinions shared are my own.

dnf @ 21%. I had such high hopes for this Brenda Jackson book. At 6/7% the plot was pretty much laid out, the misunderstandings and the wrongs explained. None of this faffing around with past and present scenes. I liked that. I hate when authors start prolonging and teasing us about something in the past only for the unveiling to lead to a feeling of let down. I thought great now its only going to be about the relationship going forward. Unfortunately by this stage I had taken a dislike to both the H and the h and there was no redeeming them. A more immature, dislikeable pair would be hard to find. I also found this had little emotional depth, I swear I was reading it in monotone in my head.
So disappointed.

So I REALLY should have been expecting this probably after the last two books, but I confess, I didn't think this book would end with the heroine running for her life from a stalker who she had gone on maybe two dates and who decided she was using him when she started spending time with her actual ex. And when I say running for her life, I am not exaggerating, the stalker decides to chase her around the island where she and the hero used to hook up as teenagers before burying her alive. It was wild.

Quick thoughts

BJ knocked this one right out of the park! This story has much more than romance. I enjoy second chance romances. I felt Bryce's pain and frustration with Keagan. What I love most about BJ's novels is the way she weaves all the characters from other books seamlessly in new ones. I always feel like I'm visiting and catching up with old friends. This is a series not to be missed. There are a few cliche moments, but I overlooked them.

Bryce was every bit the strong independent woman that had only one heart to give. She could not conceal the pain of her heart, but she tried. She loved one man most of her life and he believed a lie. She could not forgive the pain that it caused her. She only wanted to move forward in her life. Kaegan was the one man for her, but she could not see pass the past to a future with him.

Kaegan knows that he love this woman. He knows that he would never be able to forget her. He needs to work on forgiving her. Or could it be he does not know the truth just the lie present. Sometimes life hands you a second chance to make the first one count towards that HEA.

This was the second of the series and no less heart involving. I loved Bryce and Kaegan both as individuals. They both provided clarity, friendship, and understand for their friends. Why could they not do it for each other? This was another adulting relationship that had its ups and downs but still gave a good story that did not follow a stale pattern. There was chances taken. Together these two were each others true home.

If Fighting Desires, Fighting Temptations, & Defending What Is Yours Could Be Wrapped All Together... Here It is!🥂

Book #3 in this series proves readers with a "Showstopping" storyline. This time, we learn the Love story Kaegan & Bryce. In addition to the Nature of the awkward distance and silence with one another. Brenda Jackson's superlative storyline pulled at my Heart Strings in this book more than the others, so far. But, still loved them as favorites on my lists of reads. I also found myself constantly "Rooting" for this Couple throughout this entire book! Readers are always able to partake in this Author's books and just devour all of her Feel Good Hearten Teachings that are come through her true-to-life characters. This is such an Eye-opening romance that really tickled me with some laughter at times. Kaegan was standing his Ground. And, Bryce...lol
Experpt: "Dont try and cheapen what we shared together. No matter how things turned out between us. Don't ever do that again." And, then the page turns to Bryce.. Just Priceless!! ❤️

FINDING HOME AGAIN is an intriguing second-chance romance read. Bryce and Kaegan were high school lovers who believed themselves to be soul mates. A misunderstanding broke them up and they have been separated- and hating each other- for 10 years. He is angry because he believes she cheated on him, and she is angry because he didn't trust her or even listen to the truth.

We also have Vashti from the previous books, who is featured as the voice of the reason in this one. She wants her two BFFs to be friends at the least, and she hates that this is hanging over their friendships. Eventually, she does pull the full truths from them, and Kaegan was definitely in the wrong here. It is thus no surprise that their reunion is not easy, even though once he does listen to the truth, he does start to want a second chance.

At the same time, odd things are happening that start small, like a slashed tire. These escalate and add a sudden romantic suspense angle for the last half of the book. This made it feel a bit like two plots were thrown together into an odd combination.

In terms of the romance, there is a lot of push-and-pull, and I was not even sure if I could get over how Kaegan had treated Bryce. By the end, I was glad she was happy, but I would still be quite wary. The book did do a good job of holding my attention, but I felt like we needed a little different scenario to fully see both Kaegan and Bryce's side of things and thus want them to get back together. As-is, Kaegan was hard for me to get or like. Then, the suspense plot seemed a little random to be tacked on (also did not get the villain really, it needed a little more background/oomph in my opinion).

Overall, I did find it engaging enough to read through, but I felt like I needed a bit more to fully cheer for the couple romantically. I did really enjoy the unique setting, and I loved seeing the characters from previous books again here (though this one could be read as a stand-alone).

Please note that I received an ARC. All opinions are my own.

Finding home again

**SPOILER ALERT***
Bryce and Kaegan’s story started 10 years ago when they were very young adults. Their story is the third story of the Catalina Cove series and it didn’t disappoint. The two ex lovers, ex friends appeared in the two previous books briefly and their loathing for each other was clear but the reasoning for the hate hate relationship was unclear. Kaegan thought he saw Bryce with another man the night he came back to the Cove to propose to a young Bryce. He was being fed information from his now deceased father letting him know Bryce was seeing another man. 10 years later Kaegan and Bryce were sworn enemies, Kaegan because of Bryce’s alleged betrayal and Bryce because of Kaegans accusations and willingness to believe the worst of her had them at a deadlock and standstill. Kaegan learns of Bryce’s true intentions with a friend that turned out to have been gay the entire time. Kaegan is determined to reclaim his lost love and make Bryce his again! This story was beautiful and really showed that communication and trust are the best things to have in a relationship. Even if you think you saw something maybe a simple conversation and trusting the person you are with to be honest with you could’ve changed the outcome. Kaegan had to learn to trust and communicate with Bryce. He learned his lesson and always practiced being upfront with her about what he wanted and even what he had with other women. He wanted to show Bryce that he had grown into a man who would always be straight with her. I loved the patience Kaegan gave Bryce he knew he’d hurt her deeply and wanted to give her the time she needed to realize what she wanted. The suspense of figuring out who was the hater on their relationship was fun I did think that her tire going flat was a set up by Jeremy Skinner but I also thought Kaegan’s tire may have been slashed by the woman who was trying to get his attention. Bryce and Kaegan’s story was sweet and endearing. Brenda Jackson never disappoints when you need a pick me up romance.

Bryce and Kaegan friendship as children evolved into a love that they thought was invincible. They had plans for their happy ever after but a surprise visit by Kaegan leads to a confrontation that created such a rift between them that they wouldn’t see each other for ten years.

Kaegan has returned home and although he and Bryce didn’t want to see each other or drag up their painful past their friends weren’t about to let that happen. When the truth is revealed Kaegan wants a second chance and although Bryce is willing to share her body will she be able to trust him with her heart?

Full of heat, drama, angst and emotion Bryce and Kaegan definitely had their ups and downs but there was no denying that they have always belonged together.

DNF at 30%. Look, this is a book that makes no sense. It’s supposed to be a romance novel.

So, without giving away too much, the plot revolves around a couple who broke up ten years earlier over a misunderstanding. This is an issue that could have been cleared up in a few seconds and probably would have been if this was real life. Instead, it is a 260 page book and once I realized that the central premise is ridiculous, I DNFed the book. Just no.

I understand this is a series and apparently in an earlier book, someone had amnesia. That’s a ridiculous plot I could get behind. But this one? No.

Love book 3 of the Catalina Cove series!

Kaegan and Bryce are certainly a couple to root for! A painful past. Hurt. Heartache. They must work to regain love and trust. It’s a great read. It’s also fun to hear the continuing stories of other Catalina Cove couples from the first 2 books. The Catalina Cove series continues to draw you in. Brenda Jackson engages you with her characters and you become invested in them all. Kaegan and Bryce are no exception. You won’t regret visiting Catalina Cove.

Brenda Jackson knows how to write romances that capture her readers heart, and yet fill their hearts with heart stopping suspense. We finally get Keegan and Bryce’s story. I can’t wait to know their secrets.

Bryce Witherspoon is sweet, kind, intelligent and furiously loyal to the people who matter, but when hurt so deeply can she let go of that hurt to trust again? Bryce knew her feelings were on overload between love, hurt, passion and pain all that she felt involved Keegan. KGee the one person who was never far from her thoughts.

Keagan chambray return to Catalina Cove town to keep his family business going, only to discover he was not quite over the reason he left the quaint little town of Catalina Cove. I really like Keegan’s character he is down to earth and fun. Can Keegan let go of the past to find his future?

I adored Keegan and Bryce from book #1 Love in Catalina Cove in the Catalina Cove Series. Both having strong feelings from the past that keeps them at odds. Can there be any chance of them healing from the past, to give them a future? When it comes down to the unknowns to the heart anything is possible.

The supporting characters are amazing! I loved catching up with the families. I feel they gave Keegan and Bryce great positive support along with some fun moments. Giving Keegan a little back from the hard time he gave Sawyer and Ray was priceless. Finding Home Again plot is full of love, family, friends with a few plot twist thrown in to keep things interesting. Finding Home Againis yet another amazing read by Brenda Jackson. The characters are so full of life that I was easily entertained and intrigued. I must know will there be more to the Catalina Cove Series Ms. Jackson?

3 Stars!

Hi BookLovers,

Well I was out and about for few days and the only book I got a chance to finish is this and it was my first Brenda Jackson and it's not that bad and It's not that Ummm yeah you know good either but overall it was readable. And I seldom, really really seldom giving 3 stars but I just need to put into this one.

The storyline was so usual, the misunderstanding that leads to years of heartbreak and hatred. I'm sure anyone that likes to read something like second-chance in love would love this.

Recommended! :)

This book was disappointing. This relationship was toxic and this reminds me of why I sometimes take a break from romance novels. My initial review was going to be “Men. Smh.” but it was really both of them lol if you’re interested in the series, I’d read the first two books; however, there’s 5 in the series.

A must read.

I've always loved Brenda Jackson's books, but she's outdone herself with Finding Home Again. I loved Bryce and Kaegan's story. It proved with Love, you can find your way home. A truly beautiful love story.

Great storyline, as always I really enjoy the book. At one point I didn’t believe they would get back together.
