Men of the Vault #3

Die Gruft: Tanner

Rate this book

Enjoyed it so much! This was what I needed! It was a quick read with a good story-line and well-written (well, for a novella). Told in multiple POV, 1st person. It’s the third installment in the "Men of Vault" series with character crossover but it can be read as a standalone. All in all, I had a good time with it and hope you like it as well!

This is the third book in The Vault series, it’s also not dark like the others.

In this one, Tanner gets his HEA with his first and only love. He meets an unexpected family member, Ian, and his father, Landon.

I loved seeing Tanner and Landon reconnect and create a family with Ian.

Quick and dirty romance - except it's "nice" version (though that sounds like an oxymoron).

Figured after spending most of my day studying, I deserve a reward. Well, who knew I would pick so right and this would turn out to be such a short story.

Even if it's far from a great piece of literature.

And I should not be judging, really. But is this what you're looking for? Let's see. (I'll try to avoid real spoilers)

You have two guys. Who proclaim they love each other. Except, they didn't see each other for about 20 years. Yup. Heard right. 20. Years. You a fan of those ridiculously absurd tropes of reuniting people after such time? Well, not me. Why? Because I can't stand The Dumb. Sorry, but I call a spade a spade.

You may call it cowardice or insecurity or avoidance or some such, make up gazillion reasons why you could not have been together, not gone to get your guy and

Serious BS.

ESPECIALLY since LI came back, "pretended" to be mad and have an argument AND stay the night, and... well, you know what happens when two guys in love meet after a long time. And no, they're not going to watch football.

And it might sound like some epic story of love overcoming serious obstacles but the way it's all portrayed and put together? Simple. Soo simple and absurd.

You realize the author somehow decided to Create a guy, use his LoveInterest to get him to "sleep" with a chick and make that one "memorable" night count. Like, make a baby count. JUST so 18 years later this kid can knock on his door and in a very absurd manner end up coming to his house and only THEN tell him

Except the other way around, 'course.

AAAAND, because it would be really lame to have a happy ending AFTER 20 YEARS *coughs*, sorry, that just came out, LI actually decides to leave. Yup. "You have my son? He's gonna live with you? Like, you and my son who is your biological son and someone we practically conceived together through that female who conveniently but not soon enough fell ill and died - are gonna become one big happy family like we were supposed to all those years ago? Well, let me just go home and pretend I am not utterly miserable".

More Marisa. Mellisa? That female character who was the less obvious tool of their romance getting a Happy Ending.

Anyway, you want low-angst but with a few feels and some really, really simple device plots and logic holes, sorry, stupid characters that can still be entertaining? Sure, go for this.

Like, really, that wasn't supposed to be sarcastic.

Otherwise, I am okay with not pursuing this series. *Sigh* Such a potential... wasted.

Recommend (With Stipulations)

P.S: Probably the first time I used pictures. SOO hard. Hope GR's going to continue with this modernization stuff so I won't have to type code like some IT person just to include a picture in my review or put stuff in italics or bold. Using capital letters and ** to get my point across is cramping my style.

[SERVICE PRESSE]

💕Will geography and career choices keep Rod and Landon from reuniting?
April 1, 2018
Format: Kindle Edition
A relatively short romance featuring Las Vegas brothel owner Rod and Denver businessman Landon with 👬 🔥 steam and a second chance at happiness, I enjoyed the story. The plot was fairly simple and the MCs' major trauma and obstacles had happened before this story began. It was a bit of a twist to have teenage Ian the catalyst that sets their second chance in motion. I wish the story had been a bit longer to fill in more of their interim lives after their teenage separation.

Although this is the third in a series, I had not read the previous books and had no trouble following the plot from page one. Although some of the secondary characters may have stories yet to develop, the principal plot contained no cliffhanger.

I read a complimentary copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Running From Empty,

The third allready of The Vault serie.
I enjoyed it ,a great deal.
loved the men together,at first I was a bit unerved.
thought that the lovestory was between Ian and Rod,
and I love love age cap, this one did not feel right.
But off course it dit not go that direction.
I liked Rod as a new dad and loved Landon for his role as
dad for all the years he took care of Ian.
I loved that the guys came together, but the lovestory is a
bit fast paced.would love to have more pages about them.

the story is nice and well done,It reads fast and it is fun, sweet and
sexy.loved the side characters.en can`t wait for Johnny and Asher`s story`s.

This is very different from the other two books in this series but I really enjoyed it. It is well-written and the characters are engaging. Tanner was forced to leave home when he was a teenager and he left the love of his life behind. Even though it has been more than eighteen years since he saw Landon he is very happy when a surprising visitor shows up and Landon follows him. They have a second chance at love but they have to deal with their past and the fact that Landon lives in another state. It was great to reunite with characters from the previous books as well. I can't wait to read the next book in this great series.
I was given an ARC to review by the author.

This was not what I was expecting, but it was a pleasant surprise! This one is definitely less dark, but just as fulfilling. Tanner and Landon have known each other for years, but they haven't spoken or seen each other in almost twenty years. They have quite a history, but I felt as if I got to know them and their history quite well even though this is shorter than the first two books in the series. I loved the ending, and I'm glad this is not the end of this wonderful series. I can't wait for the next one!

This is the third in the series and I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed this story. It is such an original idea. Surprise Tanner, on more than one level. I think the author did an excellent job of setting up the history between Tanner and Landon. The story flow went smoothly without gaps and is well paced. I think the emotional side to all the guys feelings were well portrayed. I hope to see more about Ian in the future.

Running From Empty, book three in the Men From The Vault series by Aria Grace. The first two books in this series were dark storylines. This one is much lighter. A great story for Tanner, the man who runs the Vault and tries to help and keep his men safe. Loved this story! This series has great characters. Definitely a must read book in a must read series. I can’t wait to read about Asher’s story in the next book Settling For More.

Running From Empty is the third book in the Men of the Vault series. This third book was completely different than what I was expecting, but that wasn’t a bad thing. In fact, this book was my favorite of the series so far. I think it’s because Tanner, Landon, and their son Ian were just such engaging characters – plus, the book’s ‘verse was already well developed and made for the perfect backdrop to this second-chance/family romance.

This is such a great series. This time we get into Tanner's life as he finds out he has a grown son and finds his lost love, who happens to have been parenting the son. It is a beautiful thing to watch Tanner build a relationship with Ian and find a new relationship with Landon. Ian grows a lot in this, realizing truths. Now I want Asher after the tease!!!

Great read

Beautiful sweet story about reconnecting with the one that you let slip through your fingers. The story of Rod Tanner and Landon had me hooked from the opening pages and had a smile on my face by the last one. Another great read to this series and I cannot wait for the next book.

I think this one is my favorite of the series. It's less dark than the others, and you get a good idea of the characters' history with each other. The writing is amazing. I can't wait to read Book 4.

This volume was much better than the first two. It was still somewhat illogical, cliché , easily predictable, and had some editing problems but it was also entertaining.

* I received a copy in exchange for a honest review *

It is a third book in the "Men of the Vault" series and my favorite .

It can be read as a standalone but it would be a shame to not skip Edge and Liam or Scotty, Quint and Damon's story. Moreover I think it is important to know how The Vault works because otherwise You might react just like Landon and Ian did.

This is Tanner's story and I have to admit this is not what I had expected. I always liked Tanner and I wanted to know more about him but this time Aria Grace really did surprise me.
It is impossible to talk about this book without spoilers so I'll just say that this is a story about second chances and finally finding happiness and family .

Apart from Tanner who's just great I liked Ian (even though I don't think he was fair to Landon after finding out the truth) and how determined he was. He was also very accepting because I'd expect more awkwardness . I have mixed feelings about Landon, he was a good, self-sacrificing guy but he was also dull and indecisive.

The whole story was amazingly written and fast paced, the storyline drew me in right from the start and I couldn't stop reading. It was interesting and hot.
I can't wait for Asher's story <3
