This follows on from the previous book Kings of Mayhem. It’s a lot shorter and therefore makes for a quick read.

This continues on with Cade and Indy’s story. And there’s never a dull moment. From start to finish it’s a fast paced exciting read.

There’s so much going on that Cade and Indy often seem to take a back seat to the killings. Personally for me if I’m being picky it was a little too much. Especially considering the number of pages. I would have been happy with a couple less murders and more time spent on the characters themselves.

This book includes the first chapter of the next book Biker Baby. It features a different couple and i must admit after reading the chapter I’m looking forward to it.

I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by NetGalley.

ARC received for review

This book picks up right where book one leaves off. Indy doesn't let Cade run away from her and hide in his pain. Drama and hot sex for them. They finally catch the bad guy, but not before a whole bunch more people die....and I do mean a whole bunch. Ms. Dee must not want to write very many books in this series.

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads.
===================
Cade had changed. He’d turned cold with hate. Despondent with grief. Quietly simmering with rage.

I felt bad about Indy. She was reaching out for me, but I just couldn’t reach back. And it made me feel even worse than I already did.

Sandy climbed onto the bed and kneeled in front of me, looking up at me with bright, come-fuck-me eyes. “Well, what are you waiting for, honey?” she cooed. I sighed and began removing my shirt. No turning back now.

Seeing the honey-blonde sprawled naked on the bed was like electric shock therapy zipping through my brain.  She was tangled amongst the sheets—sheets that were messed up by some seriously active lovemaking by the looks of them.

“I didn’t touch her. But, Indy—” “Shhhhh…” She stepped closer and placed a finger across my lips.

This second book in the Kings of Mayhem series picks up right where the first one left off. I recommend you read these book in order to fully understand the story. In this book Cade and Indy's story continues as their reunion is tested by what's happening within and to the MC. There is a whole lot going on with a ton of action as things really heat up for the kings. This is an excellent read and I'm interested in seeing what comes next. I recommend this one.

This review was originally posted on Addicted To RomanceI received this book for free from Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

This review is very short due to the need to not reveal too much so I don't spoil the story.

Brothers in Arms is the second book in the Kings Of Mayhem MC series. This book takes off right after the first book that did end with a cliffhanger and I have to say that this author really works emotions so well. I love how this was written and even though it was highly hard to read at times because of the intensity of the scenes and what develops in the plot I am so glad that I picked this book up. The story sets off with our hero and heroine: Cade and Indy who have recently come to terms with their past and wanting to start a future together and have a fresh start. Their path hasn't been easy but its about to get harder when the MC is being targeted by someone unknown and their members are being murdered with no clue as to who it is. Cade and Indy are going through hell during this scenario because they are losing their closest friends and their relationship is being torn to shreds at the same time. But these two learn the value of not letting grief and anger drive a wedge in their relationship. I found Brothers in Arms to be a heart breaking romance and man this book had me SOBBING all the way through. The emotion is well portrayed in this story and really reflects so well in the reader.

If you love MC romance, then you definitely need to grab these books up....high level of emotion, intense intrigue, and a romance to fight for!!!

description
I love MC books, even when the MC is of the dangerous criminal variety. And I understand that there is a certain level of darkness and a bit of edge to these books most of the time. But this book had quite a few really rough moments in the plot. One particular part seemed unnecessarily harsh to me.

I kept reading this story though for several reasons. First, because the author was able to keep things fast paced, and there was certainly never a dull moment. She's also got a really engaging writing style which I can appreciate.

Then there was the leading lady, Indy, who was pretty awesome and I loved watching as she stood up for herself, even against the man she loved.

But unfortunately the high number of deaths put a serious damper on my enjoyment of this story. The ending was much better then I expected and I was happy with it. I'm just a little leery of what to expect with the next book in the series. I am however interested after reading the snippet provided at the end of this one.

This is the second book in a new series. I recommend you read book 1, Kings of Mayhem, before reading this book. This book continues Cade and Indy’s relationship as well as continuing the story about the mystery of exactly who is murdering club members and why. I absolutely loved Cade’s and Indy’s story that began in book 1 and continues to flourish in this book. It’s a real-life situation between them and made me actually feel their pain and love. This one is rather dark filled with suspense and trying to solve the mystery and track down the murderer. It’s a story about romantic love and familial love. It’s about going through grief when you lose someone you love. And boy did this author write some of those scenes realistically, even bringing tears to my eyes. I’m looking forward to book 3 in this series. I thoroughly enjoy this author’s writing style and character development.

This was book 2 in "The Kings of Mayhem" Cade Calley who is V. P. of the club is on a mission someone taking out club members. As he and Indy begin to play house he knows that he has to keep her safe and hunt for the person killing his club brothers and his cousin. Cade begins to pull away and Indy knows that she needs to give him space but she is tried and lonely and she knows she has to do something about it. This was a really good read at first I didn't see the reason why this story was continued but the story got better. I did feel bad for Jacob and Mirabella. As the club goes on lock down more people turn up dead and while helping one of the widows Indy finds a news clipping that may have something to do with it. Indy gets some news but is unable to share it with Cade. This was a really good read. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Talk about killing a bunch of main characters in this book.
Wow!

What was up with that! It was crazy how many people were killed off.

And the whole set up Cade did to Indy. Was way over the top. I hated it. And of course Indy goes back like nothing.

I’m so regretting buying these books. This series just isn’t doing it for me. I’m not feeling Cade. Indy should’ve just stayed away after her father’s funeral.

This whole book. I wasn’t feeling the reasoning why everyone was killed. I’m still not feeling Cade or Indy. The whole club seems so disorganized.
I don’t have much hope for book 3 in this series.

This is the second book of the series and picks up right after the first book ends. We continue with Cade and Indy as the main characters but many of the secondary characters also get flushed out. This book has a lot of focus on the MC and the actions around the club are affecting Cade and Indy's relationship.

This book has action, suspense, heartache and true love. I am really enjoying this author's writing and can't wait to read more about this club. This story line seems to have wrapped up so I am looking forward to the next adventure with this club.

I’m not all too sure how to go about this review since my mind is feeling kinda like the poor frog in Frogger, so I’m going to keep it pretty simple...I hope (toes crossed folks)

This is a continuation of Cade and Indy’s story and I have to say that I liked Indy a lot more in this one. She’s settled, determined and I loved seeing the woman she was always meant to be come out in this one. Then there is Cade. I hurt for him, I did, and I understood why he ended up in such a dark place because of what was going on with his family, but I couldn’t help but cringe at some of the things he did, or didn’t do because he was so deep into his own headtrip that it was kind of scary.

As for Cade and Indy’s relationship. I liked how Indy fought for Cade and what they were attempting to build together, she showed how well she knew Cade and how much she loved him. But I will admit that I wished there had been more of them. The chaos that was going on around them took over and they took a backseat IMHO. I got why, I did, and I liked where they were at in the end, but I feel like they got lost in the shuffle.

Based on the way Kings of Mayhem ended and the description for this, I knew that things were going to be intense and crazy, and I’m all good with both, I am, but the thing about the crazy that happens here is that only one of the instances gave me an emotional gut punch, the others were sad and intense, but they did take me to that place and it’s because I wasn’t as invested in the characters involved. I didn’t feel like I knew them, so the connection wasn’t there and I was a little underwhelmed. And when everything was exposed...It made sense in a crazy, chaotic, psychopathic sort of way that has me thinking “Okay. The reasoning is still a little bit halfassbackwards to me, but I get it in that twisty mind sort of way.”

I was going to keep this one simple, but that didn’t happen, and I’ll be honest that I’ve waffled quite a bit over the rating, do I round up or down, I chose up because I did enjoy the book as a whole and want more from this world and these characters and in the end that is all that mattered. I loved spending more time with the Kings and getting to know some of them a little more and I am definitely looking forward to getting my hands on Biker Baby when it comes out!

This book kicks off straight after the ending of book 1. This book is more centred around the MC, the first book was setting up the Mayhem world and introducing the characters. There is someone murdering people from the MC - but who? A rival club? Someone with a personal vendetta?

I loved this - it kept me guessing until the big reveal. I felt what the MC felt after each death and there was one particular death that brought tears to my eyes, so undeserved and the impact....

I am really looking forward to reading book 3 in the series, here's hoping it is out soon!

Intense

The second book in this series kept right up to its predecessor giving me what I want in MC reads. Gladly to say it had the steam from Cade and Indy all over again. There are twists and turns in this book that had me guessing until the very end as to who was picking off the Kings of Mayhem and their women along with the reasoning for it.

This was a great page turner and now has me counting down until the next book in the series comes out.

I loved this book!! If the first one in this series was good, this is beyond fantastic.
This time, Kings of Mayhem MC is struck with death and chaos, Cade is forced to find out what it's happening if he wants to protect Indy. and his brothers.
I must admit, Penny Dee has surprised me a lot with a good plot and very well- buit characters. And that made an amazing book. Simple as that.
Believe me, you won't be able to close it!!

This is a continuation of the 'King of Mayhem' and the story of Cade and Indy. There is a lot going on within this book and it was a quick read. I liked this one a bit more than the first and it definitely was more emotional. I am looking forward to the next, to see what happens with the men of the Kings of Mayhem.

Isaac died in Cade’s arms. His heart hardened and his anger was palpable. Isaac had not only been Cade’s cousin but best friend. Cade vowed revenge and was determined to find who had killed Isaac and make them pay. Cade pulled up when Buckman knocked on Cherry and isaac’s door to tell her isaac was dead. Cade wanted to be there for Cherry. Indy knew she had to go to Abby but she had to shower first as she had isaac’s blood on her. Isaac had been murdered and nobody knew why or by who. Insy had loved isaac her whole life and he had died in front of her. Her friend was now gone. Indy had to hold it together for Abby and cade as she knew how devastated they were. Abby and isaac had been coming back from the Kings Of Mayhem’s MC Headquarters. Someone had set it on fire and they had went to check it out, on the way back… It happened so fast. Abby was Isaac’s twin sister and they had talked every day and told each other everything. For thirty years Isaac had been Abby’s twin as well as best friend. Cade took off after Isaac’s funeral but then came back to Indy. Cade went to the Knights - a rival MC- clubhouse to talk to Saber the president- as Isaac had told cade about some deal involving heroin which was the Knights money maker. It had been three weeks since cade had made love to Indy and she could feel the distance growing between them but she wanted to give Cade space after what happened to isaac. But enough was enough. Than while Indy was at work another King came in and was pronounced dead- Tex. But with head trauma and carbon monoxide poisoning. That death was ruled as an accident by the police. But Cade didn’t believe that. Cade became the VP of the MC and the Kings celebrated as they desperately needed something good to celebrate.
I loved this book. It was a great MC book. It had action. Murder, kidnapping, brotherhood, tears, heartbreak, death, suspense, mystery, MCs, romance and so much more. I loved the pace and plot. I choked up bad at different times while reading this. I loved Cade and indy together and how they interacted. I didn’t like how cade her hurt Indy yet again with making her believe he had cheated on her again but I understood why he did it. I didn’t want to set this down. It was a quick, easy romantic yet at time horrendous read. I advise you to read the other books in this series for smoother more knowledgeable read. I loved the characters and the twists and turns of this book and I highly recommend it.

WOW! This story was emotionally gut wrenching! From page one, I was so hooked into this book I became emotionally wrecked right along with the characters!
The story begins right where book one left off. Cade’s cousin had been murdered right in front of them and now Cade has to give his cousin’s wife the horrid news. EEK! What a grueling start!
Death takes its toll, changing the people around it.
“Cade had changed. He’d turned cold with hate. Despondent with grief. Quietly simmering with rage.”
“And somewhere in that church, during the service for my slayed cousin, my grief turned into a seething and unrelenting obsession for vengeance.”
Indy and Cade have just started over, a second chance at something beautiful. But is their relationship strong enough to handle what’s about to come? Especially with Cade’s new focus? With his brothers at his back he’s going to find out who the killer is and take them down.
But, the murder wasn’t an isolated event. Slowly others are being taken out. Some blatantly executed, others made to look like suicide, and one club member goes missing. The devastation of all of the deaths was beyond horrific. Trying desperately to figure out who is behind these events and why, is taking its toll on the club. Especially the relationship between Cade and Indy.
“But a black cloud had descended onto my soul and I found it harder and harder to block out the anger and grief to give her all of me.”
“The distance between us was widening and I was beginning to wonder if we would ever find our way back to each other.”
So overcome with grief and vengeance Cade realizes he can’t give Indy what she needs right now.
“She was the most important thing in the world to me and I was torturing her every time I walked away from her. With every missed kiss. With every missed night in our bed.”
Feeling that the only way to keep Indy safe is to send her away. His love for her is so great he would rather have her alive and out of his life than risk her life to have her in his bed. Unfortunately, she won’t leave. Cade does the only thing he knows is a surefire way to get her to leave.
Make history repeat itself.
Will strength and love carry them through? Another thoroughly enthralling story by Penny Dee. So incredibly suspenseful I had to read it straight through!

I read an ARC of this story via netgalley. My honest and fair review is voluntary.

Title: Brothers In Arms
Author(s): Penny Dee
Character(s):
Indigo Parrish: 30 years old, Blonde, Blue Eyed
Cade Calley: 30 years old, Black, Blue Eyed
Setting: Destiny, Mississippi
Tag(s): Romance, Contemporary
Content Rating: R
POV: Alternates between Heroine/Hero
Smexy Level: Hot
Favorite Quote(s):
― “I’m your queen. Let me stand next to my king.”
― “Sometimes the very thing we should be afraid of is in our own home.”
Overall Opinion:
Penny Dee's “Brothers In Arms is the continuation of “Kings of Mayhem” which had ended in a cliffhanger. The story starts off after the abrupt death of his cousin and best friend Issac that leaves Cade devastated beyond belief. And day by day, member after member is brutally murder by someone, unknownst to club, is closer to home then they realized.

When the second installment of the series was released I couldn't wait to get my greedy hands on it. I loved “King of Mayhem” and was left dying to know what happened to Cade and Indy after the crazy cliffhanger that left me on the edge of my seat in the first book. And as much as I hate to admit it, the sequel left much to desire and didn't quite meet my expectations. Don't get me wrong it wasn't bad, it seem fast paced and was over before you knew it. I anticipated a bit more of a built up towards the conclusion of the story but everything just seem rushed and the characters just weren't as likable like the first part. In all honesty, this installment could have easily just been attached to the first book then with the author starting the sequel with a new refreshing character from the club. Moreover it was a good read, not the best yet an overall pleasant read that finally gave the heroine and hero their happily ever after.

I have to start out by saying that this is the second book to a continuing story line in the Kings of Mayhem MC series, so YOU MUST READ Kings of Mayhem (Book 1) FIRST since this one picks right back up where Book 1 left off. Cade has gone dark after the events that took his best friend from him, and Indy doesn't know how to help other than just being there for him. But he's not making it easy, since he's shutting her out, barely even coming home. And just when he's starting to settle a bit, the chaos isn't even over yet, as more Kings are being killed off, and the MC has no clue who is picking them off one by one, so everyone is very stressed out. The club is on high alert since no one is safe, not even the women. WOW JUST WOW! I've always LOVED the brilliant Penny Dee's writing, and she just keeps getting better & better with every new book in my opinion. Brothers in Arms kept me on the edge of my seat cover to cover with heart racing, since there were so many f-bomb worthy twists coming from every direction. I had no clue who was causing all the mayhem if you will, but they weren't leaving anyone out. And Indy was a bad a** heroine, because Cade decided to make a couple of questionable douchey decisions, and she ended up being too smart for him thankfully, which was refreshing to be honest. I know my emotions ran just as high as the MC members, because I could feel theirs like they were my own that's for sure. So I hope this is a long series, as I definitely NEED more! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

This was at best a 3 star read making it an "ok" read. We found out the killer but I was hoping for more clarity on the past BS from their fathers. Instead just more people died and to be honest, it wasn't necessary to kill off THAT many of the club to get the point across (yes, had to take away a star)

I was curious in the first book as to why did Cade’s father wants Indy gone so badly he did that to his son? Indy’s fathers brutal change was explained away as “he was protecting his own heart”. Parents (at least good parents) don’t use their own children this way. Mayhem was created by 2 men that honored and cherished both the women and children but the leadership of Cade and Indy’s fathers disrespected that code.

The OW scene disappointed me so yes I had to take a star away...why tumble the bed? Why shower? Why the hell didn't Indy beat the sh!t out of the whore? Instead she runs and has a sudden "OH NO, IT ISN'T TRUE" moment? And of course, the whore is not seen again in the rest of the story.

The who and why, I had to add a star for that surprise. The sins of the past find their way to the future kind of thing. So I added back a star for that

I would not mind reading the next books, but spending 3.99 is a bit too much for me. IF it goes free or .99 I might but for now, I am keeping my money.

The Kings are under attack. One by one. Someone has declared war. Fueled by rage, grief, and love, Cade Calley will stop at nothing to find those who are guilty. But how does a King protect his Queen when the enemy is hiding in plain sight?

#BrothersInArms is the second book in the Kings of Mayhem MC series. It is a linear continuation from book one, #KingsOfMayhem. It can be read as a stand-alone as author Penny Dee very delicately fills in the central theme from book one. The narrative is fast paced and highlights a gritty, formidable cast of characters that are strengthened by family connections and the perseverance of those they love. It contains steamy scenes, some mild violence, and puts the reader on a roller coaster of emotion. Highly recommended.

Brothers in Arms picks up right where Book one left off. I was really nervous at first before I started this book, thinking Cade was going to completely detach himself from Indy due to the immense amount of grief he was feeling, but thankfully they were able to stick together despite the crazy amount of drama and terrible things going on around them.

This book definitely took you for a ride and it seemed like every few pages my jaw kept dropping because I was in shock over the turn of events that kept happening and happening! So many people died! I wasn’t expecting that at all so I was shocked each and every time.

I was shocked to find out who the killer was at the end, I definitely thought it was someone else!

Overall this was a really great book and I highly recommend reading it!

Brothers in Arms is filled with emotion and had me reaching for the tissues on more than one occasion.

Book 2 of the series opens where Kings of Mayhem left off, beginning with a whole heap of drama and emotion. Someone has it in for the Kings of Mayhem and Cade swears vengeance as motorcycle club members are turning up dead and he realises they are all under threat. Torn between hunting down the killer and protecting Indy, Cade has a heartbreaking decision to make.

Full of ‘Oh my God!’ moments, I was blindsided by Brothers in Arms. This book left me with one helluva hangover! Full of drama, tragedy, suspense and Penny Dee’s usual hot and steamy sex scenes, this book gets a big HELL YES from me. Put this on your TBR now!

WOW!!! Let’s just say this is one of the best biker series I have read.

I don’t want to give to much away but bikers clubs are like family, they stick together and fight for one another. When death after death happens in the club Cade is bond and determined to keep Indy safe. Indy sees a big change in Cade and hopes he finds piece and gets back to himself after so many of his brother have died.

This is a must read intense, heart breaking story that keeps you turning the page until the bad guy is reveled.

Brothers in Arms is book 2 in the Kings of Mayhem MC series by the talented Penny Dee. This story line begins exactly when Kings of Mayhem left off with lots of drama, action, danger, threats and many emotions. Cade need to decide between protecting Indy or hunting down the bad guy. What will happen? You need to wait and read this amazing story to know how it ends!!!!!!! But I tell you it's worth it! Can't wait for book 3. Thanks Penny for the Advanced Reader Copy.

3.5 stars. Totally different tone from the first book, but I should've guessed with the way the first one ended. Everything about this book was just sad and depressing to be honest. Like I'm exhausted and happy just to have finished it. There's so much death going on in this book that it took away from the romance between Indy and Cade. You want to feel happy that they're finally together, but the ending just kind of felt incomplete.
