What a fabulous debut novel by Alexis Rae. It was such a beautiful well-written romance with plenty of angst, funny moments, intrigue, and just plain had everything that I want in a romance novel. I loved the journey that Willow and Nathan took together. I can't wait to read what Mrs. Rae does next.

I loved every page, from the meet cute to the happily ever after!
This book is for the woman who survived an encounter with the worst sort of manipulator. For the woman just beginning to find herself again after a bad breakup. Or for the woman searching for the courage to take that first step out of a bad situation and into the life she deserves. Many of us have been that woman at one point or another, which is what makes Willow Lewis such a relatable character. Especially when it comes to her crappy relationship, because let’s face it, at some point in our lives, we’ve all been there. Unseen, unheard, unappreciated. Sometimes life has to kick us in the rear before we find the strength to move on, and that’s exactly the sort of wakeup call Willow gets.
Once she ditches the user she was with for five years, she not only finds herself and her voice, but she finds true love and friendship in Nathan Wolf. Nathan is a hero with a pure heart, an open mind, and a beautiful soul. He’s the guy you hope to find out there in the world, the one you wait for instead of settling for ‘good enough.’
Willow and Nathan had instant chemistry, but I liked that they started with a solid, mostly platonic foundation and built up to the romance. Their evolving relationship was realistic and healthy. But there’s so much more to this book than their love story.
As if her scumbag ex and creepy boss weren’t enough of a headache, Willow also has her crazy mother to contend with. Not to mention the little ‘bonus’ that comes along with her and lands right in Willow’s lap. From there, it’s a roller coaster ride.
This friends-to-lovers romance is a slow burn, but the heat is rising from the very first chapter. I often get bored with a ‘slow burn,’ but Rae has woven her plot with expertise and precision. Every time you think you have a handle on what’s coming, there’s another unexpected twist. You’ll be guessing to the very end!

This is a lovely written story within a story. Willow's journey out of the darkness that was her past and into the healing light that is her future plays a pivotal role in this novel. From weak and with no voice to fierce and formidable. It's that key inner battle that is the heart of this book. Yes there is this beautiful, loving, and touching partnership between Lo and Nate that anchors her in her inner struggle to find her inner warrior within but it isn't about their love story that captures you and pulls you in. This is about rising from the ashes of a life where there was nothing but heartache and finding then igniting the inner fire inside to come out of it stronger and be able to shine like a beacon of light and love. I was drawn more into Willow and her journey than I was toward the romance and friendship between Lo and Nate. All in all wonderful debut novel by Alexis Rae.

This story is heartfelt, beatuiful, angusty, cute, fun all rolled into one.
I loved the realtionship between Wolf and Willow and how they became frjends first and watching/reading as their relationship Progressed into more. Making them a tighter unit especially with everything that is thrown on them by one hell of a terrible mother and one sh*ty of an ex.
There's not one dull moment in this story and its a must read!

Move over Ana and Christian, there's a new power couple in town. Willow and Nathaniel meet most unexpectedly and a bond immediately forms. Both reeling from a painful past , they manage to heal and bring out the best in each other. Nathan helps willow become the woman she should have been, had it not been for the manipulation of those closest to her. Every girl needs a shining knight in Armani. Loved every word and "almost" every character.

This was a wonderful debut novel by Alexis Rae. It’s a slow burn, friends to lovers story that had me falling in love with Nathan and Willow and the journey Alexis’ words took me on. It was sweet and heartfelt as you see both these lovable characters grow stronger as individuals and within their relationship.

I didn't dislike the story, however, the drama and the crux of the story became so repetitive that it was tiring.
Willow lived happily in the midst of her self-pity and low self-esteem that she didn't understand that she found in her way people who saw her beautiful soul. That became tiresome to me because it lasted too many chapters in the same routine.
Luckily in the end she took strength from her surroundings and faced her past to move forward with her future.
It's a shame because I had quite high expectations with this read.

Unexpected Everything was a beautiful read with some pain and so much happiness! Willow and Nathan's journey was a slow burn, friend's to lovers fairytale love story! Fantastic ending! I really enjoyed the other characters in this story! Fantastic debut novel Alexis Rae!
