At the height of their popularity and adventuring, the Umbrella Academy had no idea their leader, Reginald Hargreeves, had created an off-world prison to house their worst opponents. Now, a few years after his death, Hargreeves's inhuman plan has gone terribly wrong, and the Umbrella Academy are not ready for Earth's nastiest villains...Netflix live action series premiers February 15, 2019 "A triumphant return for Way and Bá." –Newsarama

"Your jealousy turned you to a life of crime, Perseus. The world is changing - has changed. It doesn't need wicked men doing the work of the just."
Every time I learn more about Hargreeves senior I'm just more convinced that he was, indeed, a monster and a jerk.
I like that my theory panned out and I was right. Especially for how neatly it ties everything together.
I keep getting rather fixated on Vanya's storyline. Seriously, what just happened? I really want to know. I'm starting to get apprehensive about all this.
And this series can get pretty messed up.
Also, who helped Klaus? Who is this mystery person?
Perseus is crazy. Not that the revelation came as a surprise. Not at all. After all last volume did a pretty great job of establishing that. But what he just did is crazy because it doesn't have a real benefit at the end of it.
"Darkness is to space what silence is to sound, i.e., the interval. - Marshall McLuhan." ____________________
So my theory was right, which was nice, but, of course, things can't be that easy and now we have this thing going on.
I hope it's less crazy than last volume... No. I really don't. I love the craziness these comics bring. ____________________
I just want more of Vanya and her mom. I really like how her story is being told.
We're getting to the final pages of this volume and we can glimpse the light at the end of the tunnel. At least some of the different storylines are finally connecting, hallelujah!
Holy hell! Now that everyone's figured out where Hargreeves was putting the bad guys, the world is going to have to deal with a lot of crap. Especially the Umbrella Academy.
Well, maybe not Séance because that guy's dealing with his own demons at the moment. I hope that after what happened in this issue, he finally gets the help he needs. Or Vanya, who's ended up in Paris because Mom is acting extra creepy and seems to have a hundred secrets up her sleeve.
I have no idea where all of this is headed, but with two issues to go in this cycle, I can only hope we'll get enough answers to satisfy my curiosity because I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS! Need to know how the siblings are going to get out of this. Not to mention that I'm still holding out for answers about the seventh kid who never gets mentioned.
Wow things are really moving fast now. With the revelation at the end of the last issue that Perseus has been working towards getting his father out of the hotel oblivion…only to find his father dead once he finally arrived…we now need to find out who the mysterious green flowing cyborg creature was standing beside Perseus bed. And to figure that out we need to go back when he was first caught by the umbrella academy, back when Ben was still alive. Turns out that the robotic creature was apart of the car that Perseus was in when the academy smashed and captured him, and ultimately was kept with him in oblivion for these last 20 years. In hindsight they should have just destroyed it, as with its whispers in the new Perseus ears it is helping him to see the potential in so many things…like unleashing everyone in the hotel oblivion to get vengeance. And continually hanging his father’s weakness over his head to get him to do terrible things like that.
Elsewhere, Klaus is picked up out of the garbage by a mysterious hooded figure and brought to a local hospital. And as more of Vanya’s therapy tour continues the more I’m not liking it. A few issues ago, on the news, they spoke of Paris spaceboy exploits all designed around the Eiffel tower. Their mother ended up bringing Vanya to the new tower in an attempt to get Vanya to punch it and relive a ridiculous scene from her childhood. Vanya is starting to see through this charade and doesn’t want any part of it and wants to know why she was grilled by the creepy guy the other day. But suddenly her mother tosses her out of her wheelchair and onto the ground, as her mother scrambles to get her walking…Vanya reasonably freaks out. She can’t walk…until a mysterious woman with a domino mask and a red coat walks up and says she doesn’t believe her. Her powers seem to work very similar to Allisons, just without the “rumor” trigger work, unless one of her other words did it. Either way, with the “sparrow” pendant on her coat I now remember what this storyline has been building up to. Vanya’s ultimate recruitment into the sparrow academy. But as Allison mentioned a few issues ago, big changes like this will only end badly. Sure she can fill a vent with cockroaches or make a bottle of glue appear…but those are small in the grad scheme of the things. But changes like Vanya being able to walk can only end in tragedy, and I only hope that Vanya continues to see through this group.
Jumping back into afterspace, the group discovers that St Zero is still alive. This isn’t some old villain, but the hero spaceboy looked up to and ultimately encouraged him to go to space himself. And after all this time not only is he still alive and in a stable condition, but he also hasn’t aged a day! Even with St Zero in their possession they are not slowing down the voyage, it is time to continue into afterspace and find the compartment Reginald spoke of. As they strap in and blast off further into the unknown, they come out on the other side just as their negative drive fails. But no matter, they simply need to get it working again then travel down to the one planet they can see to find what must be what Reginald spoke of.
That planet is indeed where the hotel oblivion resides, and the hotel is very active right now. With every door being knocked on, and all of its patrons filing down and out the front door to the televator left open to the other side. It even seems that the scientific man has taken notice of this event. As the villains unload into the real world they immediately start to cause chaos, even Dr Terminus finally getting to eat again. All while Five and Allison stayed tied up a few rooms over wondering what is happening. There was something I believe I was wrong about, I thought the scientific man was a protector of hotel oblivion…instead I think he was put there just the same as the others. But unlike the others he has no patience for them. And even though he exited through the same televator, he immediately takes the chance to kill any of the villains he sees acting out of line. Five and Allison were able to get over just in time to see the scientific man before he left, according to Allison they dealt with him after five left. But right now all Allison cares about is the murder magician, she saw the baby he has and she is concerned. One of the scientists at the corporation is able to shut down the televator right as the final convict comes through…the magician’s baby momma. And using her magic 8 ball-esque crystal ball, she is able to use it to then into giant beasts to hunt after him and kill anyone in her way!
Right as everyone leaves and the televator shuts down…Luther, Diego, and the rest of the crew are finally able to touch down to find the hotel oblivion empty! Everyone got out and now they are trapped! But suddenly the bellhops notice them, and then proceed to recognize them as friendly. It heads over and flips a key to turn on the televator from their side! It never would have let any of them out, but for them no problem. Using the bloody fingerprints, leftover from obscura, Diego is able to figure out the combination so Luther and him can leave while the rest of the crew heads back to Tokyo using the ship. But before they can get out of there the tear in the sky suddenly opens up’ suddenly a strange eldritch tentacled horror comes out of the rift and a fiery ball it has at the end of its tentacles descends and gets close to Luther…before reaching out its tentacle and making contact with him. Suddenly it appears that the entire world flashes before him. Before it disconnects and leaves. Dr zoo is immediately concerned and comes to a realization that the hotel is not a prison. But a cosmic trap for whatever that creature. And now that all the bait (the prisoners) is gone, that thing is free to leave! All of this is somehow connected and it’s not good!
