God, I'm not sure how to proceed writing this review or what words should I put in to express myself. I guess I'm way too dazed.
His prose is as beautiful as his name, Manav. & I didn't know that it's possible to fall in love with someone just by reading his writings. I think it's just the way he expresses himself, it's pulchritudinous.
You read all kinds of books, some...that makes you travel to places you've never been, some force you to succumb to your imagination, some depict your own life through the character and some, which basically makes you swiftly retrospect your life...this book falls in there, and also a bit of all of them. The entire reading process acted like "pause" in a moment, like after this brief halt...your perspective to view things is never going to remain same.
For me, reading this book had a healing effect on my soul, each and every word sprouted tranquility. Also, he sprinkled his own creativity and good humor at all places needed.
As stated, this book isn't a collection of stories or poems, it's just a brief narrative ranging from different topics....love, life, travel, theatre, etc...which makes me wonder how the little things in our life, which easily go unnoticed by us, have a story to convey, a lesson to teach...how important it's for us to ponder onto our own selves every once in a while amidst of the humdrum routines...the essence of which has been exquisitely captured in this book.
Manav's writing reflects deep-dyed simplicity, the way he weaves words together is just magical.
Now, on to "Theek Tumhare Peechhe" and "Prem Kabootar" ( in reverse order, cuz new fan in the house )!
PS: Also, it's my lack of knowledge about Bolly movies, I was unaware of who Manav Kaul was, turned out to be some actor I've already watched in movies, before...damn, he's multitalented; and for me, a brilliant writer.
