TDG #1

The Dick Gawd

Rate this book
Raelle Jackson is the perfect example of someone who followed the blueprint of success to the T, but somehow, even though she did all the right things, got the good grades, went to the right school; and got that good job....she still wasn’t happy.

Stuck in a relationship that should have ended years ago she feels like she’s on a never-ending rollercoaster of misery. Until she meets the man whom by every standard is the one that no parent would ever want for her daughter. Tall, tanned, and built like a mac truck, yes he’s gorgeous but he’s also powerful, cocky, and a manwhore who possesses the ability to charm the panties off of a rattlesnake.

He’s everything the blueprint says to avoid but how do you avoid the man who’s now signing off on your paychecks and is determined to have you in his bed, with your ass up and your face down?

Maybe you don’t, maybe you throw the blueprint to the wind, suspend your inhibitions and allow yourself to be taken to the edge of sexual madness and back again by the one who calls himself Iosefa Ethan Savea, otherwise known as TDG, The Dick Gawd.

Okay, let me say at first, I almost didn’t read this book, because honestly I couldn’t get with the name and the book cover didn’t really stand out and pull me in. Thank Big Bird for descriptions, because if it hadn’t been for that I would have passed this book by and missed out on a good read.

This is the first in a series, and just as a fair warning, the book does end on a cliffhanger, but there are two more books that follow it, so you’ll be able to get the answers you’re wanting pretty quickly.

The story follows Raelle and Iosefa as they meet and sparks fly. Physical sparks that is, because the entire book takes place over the course of a few weeks if that. So, it's a pretty fast pace as far as their interactions and relationship go.

Rae, as everyone calls her, and Sefa, as they call him, hit it off and it doesn’t hurt that his daughter, who has known Rae longer than Sefa has, adores Rae and vice versa. Their interactions and relationship is precious and I couldn’t help but smile when I read them.

Rae also happens to be friends with Sefa’s sister Vanessa, as well as his ex-wife Lina. Yes, you read that right, and honestly that’s how all relationships should be. Unfortunately, for Sefa that means he’s always outnumbered, and I’m here for it.

Rae is engaged to a no-good little boy by the name of Titan who is doing so much dirt he needs to be shot, brought back to life and then shot, yet again. We get the privilege of finding out that this man isn’t worth shit in the first couple of chapters; and I do mean he absolutely isn’t shit. He’s the blueprint of what isn’t shit is modeled after.

That being said, the interactions between him and Sefa give me life, because he plays no games with Titan whenever they are face to face, and I’m living for it. At first I thought we were going to have to deal with him and the messed up relationship he and Rae have for the entirety of the book. I was pleased to find out that our girl has a backbone, or discovers it pretty early on in the book, and gets rid of his ass.

Sefa is no angel either and has a past that keeps him from wanting any type of serious relationship. So, he has fun and gets it when and where he wants too. Neither of them should have been looking for a relationship of any kind, but it’s exactly what they found.

However all good things can't last and Rae misunderstands a situation that could have been resolved with a conversation. I will say, distancing herself was for the best after what she's been through with Titan. However, the backbone and stance she immediately took I'm the situation with Sefa should have been used long ago with Titan, and her reaction seemed a tad forced on the writer's end.

If the author has future works I would also suggest a morning eye-catching cover as that tends to sell people about half the time.

I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

My first book by this author. I was not disappointed. Rae is definitely stronger than me because no way in hell am I letting my mom and sister talk to me the way they talked to and treated Rae. Not me!

Off to the next installment.....

I think this is a new author. She is off to a great start. I love the screwed up characters and can't wait to read the next book. Raelle and Sefa have been through some stuff and I'm rooting for them to get back on track.

Okay,

Let me say that the name threw me off for a quick second, but we were reading this book in book club, so I was going to give it a try, and I was not disappointed. While the book is a bit fast, I didn't mind that. Chemistry is chemistry and our main characters have it. Once we finished this one, I immediately bought the next one and got to reading. I couldn't deal with the cliff hanger that it left us on. I definitely recommend.

Loved it

This book really got me crying, laughing, and wishing to be in a relationship. The way her family and supposed man treat her is just...so.... deplorable. How can you treat family and the love of your life like that. I can't understand how ...it just boggles my mind that people really do justify their misdeeds to the highest degree. What happens to Joe was really sad and what's happening is also really sad, but hopefully it'll work out. The only thing I couldn't get behind is the name "Dick Gawd" and the papi's/daddy's. It just made me cringe on the inside as little every time but to each their own 🤷🏾‍♀️

Nooo it’s to e continued. Love love love Sefa and Ell. The heartache and pain these two have endured they definitely deserve a hea. Please do not let them be at odds for long, both Ell and Sefa needs real loving after what others have put them through. Unconditional love.

First, this book does end on a cliffhanger, but it is absolutely the bomb dot com. The chemistry between Iosefa and Raelle is evident from the first encounter. It's beautifully written. There's lots of spicy, laughter, and many shocking moments.

So much more than Erotica

Raell is going thru a lot: from her boyfriend, her mother and her sister. Everyone is treating her like nothing…and just when things begin to turn around, we end on a cliff hanger…ugh!
