Tiberius: A Study in Resentment

Rate this book
Originally published in its original Spanish language in 1939 and first translated into English in 1956, this is an unforgettable biography of the Roman Emperor Tiberius (42 B.C.-37 A.D.), who succeeded Augustus as emperor, and his pathological resentment of one and all.

Another great biography by Marañón. His talent for research and syntopical reading doesn't shine so much in this one, due to the relative lack of sources, but his portrait of the Emperor and his pathological resentment are unforgettable.
